Poll closes October 7 at midnight PST: Both Polls Here
Planning for Mini 7:The Book of Doors - I plan to read this one
The Diviners
Six of Crows
Sorcery of Thorns - Vi
Ladder #1 (possibility but I would need help if anyone has a book they want to read on the list)
1. The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue
2. Etiquette & Espionage - I'll read this one
3. Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries
4. Sorcery of Thorns
5. Another S to S: Six of Crows, Sharp Objects or Semiosis
6. Sabriel
Ladder #2 (anyone have ideas)
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
We also need series numbered 1 to 10. We can have gaps but especially for the lower number, it will be easier to plan for at least 1-8 and then two higher numbers unless someone is reading a series currently.
Hello members of Team Garden Route (in South Africa)!
Most of you are familiar from around the challenge circuit, but for those that don't know me I'm Judith and captain of the team for wheeling around the world! I'm also one of the moderators of this group and partially responsible for this crazy challenge.
I hope everyone is looking forward to a fun few months together!
Over the next couple days Lexi, Catherine (when she's back from her cruise) and I will be getting everything sorted and ready to go for the start of Wheels on Saturday, including a tracking sheet. But since we seemed to be ready, we figured we'd leave the thread open and let people start to check in.
We have a several mini challenges happening, some which run the length of the challenge, so don't forget to check those out as well. This is the 10th Wheel-a-thon NBRC has done so the minis look back on each of those wheels gone by.
Happy Reading everyone!

Team Route 66's thread isn't open yet but yours is, so I'm just stopping by to say hi and good luck to all of you! :)
As everyone checks in, please double check your challenge shelf I have linked in message 3 above.
A few of you I wasn't sure about the shelf name, please link your shelf in the thread and I'll get it added above.

Hi all, I'm Lexi, and I know most of you all from other challenges. I have co-captained before with Judith and look forward to co-captaining with Catherine for this Wheel. Please feel free to ask any question now and throughout. Any one have any last minute books you are trying to finish before Wheel? I have a poetry book I want to read.
Hi again, here is the BOM Information. The first one starts Oct 16th with Masquerade - Discussion is here. It is my nomination so we get DQs. I hope it is a good book.
For November BOMs, polls close October 7 at midnight PST: Both Polls are Here
It's either been a long time since I've participated in Wheels or I've never done this one, so I'm sure I'll have some questions. I signed up for a relatively low # of books, knowing that I may be figuring things out. I plan to read Salem's Lot before/during Halloween, but most of my books aren't that long. I'm looking through my existing books to see if I'll tackle any other 400+ page books during the challenge. If I read a really short one, is it better to not count it? I do tend to pick up every novella I find, but I don't have to count them!
Aloha from Hawaii! I’m Lauri & I’ve played in a few Wheelathons before & lots of other group challenges. Guess I’m addicted! I have a few chunksters waiting to go plus a bunch of shorter books I need for some other challenges… Can’t wait to play!
Hi all, checking in. I've played Wheel several times (started with the Nightmare Before Christmas one whenever that was) and recognize a lot of you from various challenges.I'll take a look at my shelves to find some longer books that work for our letters and the minis. I've been primarily reading shorter books due to Turf Wars but most of what I'll log for this should be at least in the 300-400 range and I'll try to get some longer ones in as well.
Hi all, haven't read all that much since TT ended so ready to get started again! And SOOO happy to be on a team with a lot of you again! We rocked TT and ready to rock Wheel too :)
My shelf is - "wheel-10-2025".

Everyone does have a book cap per round, so if you are going to go over your limit, it's better to count longer ones instead of the shorter ones because points. Unless it's for a tricky mini challenge task.
What we can do as well is add a tab for extra books where people can log books they aren't sure about using because of length or whatever, but if they haven't hit their cap by the end of the round, we can move some over.

Alright team, here is the tracking sheet. I will also add the link up above so it's easy to find later.

The only tabs you'll really need to worry about is the Books tab. Most of the information you'll enter goes here. The other tabs auto populate based on formulas.
I've entered a few books to start so people can see examples.
If you participate in a BOM discussion, the info goes on the BOM tab.

There's A LOT of things going on with mini's this year as it's an anniversary year. If you aren't sure where best to put something, give some options and one of the captains will place it on a mini.
I would put priority on Brown, Road Trip, and Mobile right now as those have completion bonuses and Genre and Color do not.
However, Genre and Color are good options if you have trouble finding a home for your book on a mini. Those are great catch all minis.
Try not to get overwhelmed and please ask any questions you may have. Catherine is on a cruise right now and will pop in when/if she can but will be back on Oct 12. Until then y'all are stuck with Lexi and me :)

Thanks Judith all good. 😍I probably will be under my cap for Round 1 as my first book to read is
at 897 pages which will take around a week give or take to read. But lots of page points.
Delighted to be doing Wheel again this year. I’m still Lexi’s mother, still in Louisville and still reading mostly literary fiction, historical fiction and mysteries. I’ve got some favorite big books to add to the suggestions too. When in doubt, Maeve Binchy for the over 700 club. So readable.

Hi everyone! This is my second wheel, but 3rd or 4th overall. I'm a little on a slump and reading has reduced since TT but I'm hoping the Wheel will kick start it. And maybe, read the longer ones in my TBR!My shelf: wheel-2025

I try not to go too megalomaniac, I do try to use the powers for good LOL

HAHAHA, I love that I'm fought over even now. Makes me feel loved. <3Hi, all. I'm Steven, long time NBRC challenger. I used to be HEAVILY involved with team challenges as captains, even helping behind the scenes some, but alas, I got burnt out. But I'm slowly getting back into them. :)
I do so wish I knew how I kept my ADHD in check back then to read 200+ books a year. Now I read about half that.
Excited to do wheels! I think I've done it before. If not, I'll learn. :)
Also, it's a shame Jim Butcher's next Dresden Files book doesn't come out until January. I just finished my ARC and it has "defenestrate" in it. If only I'd had just a slightly larger amount of patience to read it. LOL
Steven wrote: "
What color would you say this is? :D"
I'm not sure it's 50% plus of any one color.
We could always use it in the story to call Cat a Wretch (I'm kidding, we love Cat. but we could do some fun things with that in the story.)

Damn, it looked 50% brownish to me ;_;
I'll share links closer to time when the threads are set up, but for people needing to find copies or get in line at the library, the two November BOMs are:Our Share of Night
A Drop of Corruption
The second one (A Drop of Corruption) is the 2nd in a series, but it is a wonderful, fantasy mystery. The first one, The Tainted Cup, was my favorite new book I read that year, so I highly recommend both of the books in the series.
I have not read the horror book so I have no thoughts on it.
I will try really hard to come check this thread. I'm not getting notifications for it and my usual tricks to make Goodreads behave aren't working. I'm on GR every day, so I'll just make a note to check here. I've had this notification issue several times this year. 😒

Are we ok to start loading what we think we'll read as our first few reads? I saw Judith's examples, but wanted to make sure it was ok to start adding books.I am very tempted to read this. I might see if I can track it down. Defenestrate by Renee Branum.
Just dropping by to say helloooo from Team 🏔️ ...
And to send hugs to Denise! ☺️
...
And to add support to Susan's love for Maeve Binchy. Her books are such comfort reads for me. My favourites are Circle of Friends & Scarlet Feather. :)
Notifications are wonky for everyone right now, hopefully GR gets it fixed soon because it’s really annoying.
Feel free to add away to the tracking spreadsheet!

Aww...hi Mel! I'll check those out. Thanks for the recs. Enjoy this ONE challenge without me. Because I'll be back. Muwahahaha. 😈🥰
I agree Denise. Somehow, even when I tick notify me, it doesn't stick and I don't get the notifications.

I keep putting off Battle Ground because I did read some spoilers (and not too happy about what I read)...
