The average age embryonic stem cells are extracted from embryos is 3-5 days (The stem cells disappear after 7 days), when the embryo is called a blastocyst and has 150 cells. They usually come from IVF clinics, with the woman's consent. The embryo was going to be discarded anyway. Embryonic stem cells are currently the only cells that can differentiate into all cell types (pluripotent), so can be used to treat many, many more diseases than adult stem cells.

If they have consent and the proper person it ok because it can help finding cures and understand how diseases occur also can help make regenerative medicine. Big thing that it's is helping is Test new drugs for safety and effectiveness. So I think it's ok.
