Pam (bluegrasspam) | 243 comments I'm going to try this challenge again, this time with many of the unread books from my 2025 challenge. Linked books are new choices (not on my 2025 list). All are books I own and each by an author from a different country.

Selections might change before Dec 31. I would like to add a Ukrainian author (to swap out with the Russian author) but haven't decided on which book yet. I have a few choices.

1. Kairos by Jenny Erpenbeck (Germany)
2. My Struggle: Book 1 by Karl Ove Knausgård (Norway)
3.Death in the Andes by Mario Vargas Llosa (Peru)
4. Independent People by Halldór Laxness (Iceland)
5. The Invincible by Stanisław Lem (Poland)
6. The World of Yesterday by Stefan Zweig (Austria)
7. The Enchantress of Florence by Salman Rushdie (India)
8. The Narrow Road to the Deep North by Richard Flanagan (Australia)
9. Whitehorn's Windmill by Kazys Boruta (Lithuania)
10. The Gift of Rain by Tan Twan Eng (Malaysia)
11. The Black Tulip by Alexandre Dumas (France)
12. October: The Story of the Russian Revolution by China Miéville (England)

Plus 4:
13. Dreams of My Russian Summers by Andreï Makine (Russia)
14. World of Wonders by Robertson Davies (Canada)
15. Pessoa: A Biography by Fernando Pessoa (Portugal)
16. The Story of the Lost Child by Elena Ferrante (Italy)

Great challenge, Pam. I've read another book by Lem and I do enjoy Mieville very much. I read the Deptford trilogy many years ago. I recall the 3rd book being excellent. Happy Thanksgiving and good luck in 2026.

This is such a great idea for a challenge, Pam.

I have Stanislaw Lem on my list with Solaris. Sci-Fi can be so hit or miss; but I love it.

Your list from last year helped me add books to future ATW readings. Thanks

Good luck and happy reading!
