Part 1 Finished: (view spoiler)[Rhiley really must like Ember to go rescue Garrett like that. I predict it's about to get really uncomfortable for everyone with the obvious love triangle that has developed. I would hate to be Wes right now in the middle of that crazy. And Dante is so brainwashed. (hide spoiler)]

Part 2 Finished: (view spoiler)[ This love triangle is just getting crazy. And the entire time, I just have this feeling that Talon is about to strike hard because you can tell Dante has something at hand. And of course, who knows Ember better than Dante? It's stressful waiting for it to strike. (hide spoiler)]

A little into part 3: (view spoiler)[ I knew it. I knew the hatchlings were traps. And of course, they separated so Ember and Wes don't know she's with Talon. Arg. (hide spoiler)]

Finished: (view spoiler)[ Garrett can't leave. I honestly feel like they work better altogether. Besides, he can give an inside look to their second enemy. I'm so frustrated thinking he'll leave. Also, Dante sucks. I would never sell out my siblings. He is so brainwashed if he feels like her feelings are less important that his precious organization. I'm glad Riley finally expressed himself. One character who really annoyed me was Dante because he put his ambitions above his sister? I think he's been completely brainwashed, but at some points he still fears for his sister and thinks she's been deceived. Kagawa is great at writing characters with conflicted emotions! (hide spoiler)]

I totally agree about her writing. She has made me love/hate characters in every book.

(view spoiler)[ I know what you mean about the feeling they're going to strike at any point, which I like because there's always suspense and it keeps me interested.
One thing I like in this part of the book is the chapters about why Riley left Talon. I think it gives his character more depth and makes him easier to understand. (and maybe more likeable?)
When Ember kills the man from St George, the way Kagawa deals with her emotions after is well done because she is relatively innocent at the start of the book/series. (hide spoiler)]

I have recently read another series by her and she is becoming one of my favourite authors. :)

About 3/4:
(view spoiler)[ The action is picking up now! I am enjoying this part more and the fight scenes are bringing more action.
The romance aspect to the book is coming through a bit more and I agree that the love triangle is crazy! I think it makes sense more than other books though as Ember has two sides to her, the dragon is attracted to Riley and the human is attracted to Garret, with Kagawa explaining it well. Overall I really enjoyed this book and thought it was as good as the first, which is unusual for series.
I didn't get bored during the fight scenes or get frustrated with the characters and I can't wait to continue this series. :)
