First questions will be posted May 4th

Question #1
🌻 Consider this your prologue. If your partner’s entire understanding of you came from this one response, how would you describe who you truly are?
Describe the real you—your personality, your energy, what makes you you at your core, giving them a glimpse of what they’ll discover in the chapters ahead.🌻
Optional: 🎨 Visual You
Share an image, artwork, picture, illustration, aesthetic, etc that feels like you—something that captures your energy or personality.
Important Rule Updates & Reminders
✦ Completion posts will be due Sunday at 7 pm EST time. New questions will be posted Sunday evening.
✦ Please respond to the question in your thread ASAP (within 24 hrs). So that your partner has enough time to choose and read a book (as well as discuss it with you after).
✦ For question #1 only, every pair will recieve the same question. I figured it would be nice for everyone to introduce themselves a bit before jumping in. If you are in two pairs, feel free to copy and paste the same answer in both threads. Random question picks will start for question #2.
Hi Tori,Nice to have you along for this “Read me Like a Book” challenge. I am going to use a visual aid to answer question no. 1.
Jacqueline, I left a comment on Tori's profile so hopefully she sees this and checks in soon :) she did accept my friend request so I think she is active, she might not have notifications turned on or something.
Technically, your completions would be due this Sunday but since there has been a delay, if you need more time for question #1 that is fine!
Jacqueline, I'm so sorry that I keep having to re-pair you 😢 Idk if people aren't getting on as frequently as needed for this challenge or what. Deedee is in need of a partner now though, so I've asked her to come to this thread and pair with you. I'm really hoping this works out 🤞🏼 If not, I'll post in the announcement thread and see if there is anyone who is in another pair who would like to double up with you!
Hi Jacqueline! Not sure what to answer for #1 -- I'm a senior citizen, married with children (all adults now). I've always enjoyed reading. My favorite genres are science fiction/fantasy, 'literary fiction', and real, non-fiction history.
Hi Deedee, feel free to copy your answer from your thread from Jiten too (if you'd like). It seems like you gave a lot of info in that response, which is great 😊
Hello Deedee,We have much in common. We seemed to enjoy the same genres or blended genres. I am not crazy about mysteries but will try one every now and then.
I have one daughter who is now in the 11th grade. I had her in my mid- forties.
I live in Philadelphia, Pa. We have some of the best sports teams…lol.
I try to read 2 books a week .. sometimes I am successful. Currently, I am anticipating the close of school, we have less than 2 more weeks!

My 4 children (2 boys 2 girls) are all in their 30s now. I will always be a parent but parenting adults is very different than parenting children. Three are married; my eldest son is disabled and lives with us. Two of my children have had a baby (yeah! I'm Grandma!).
I have cousins in Philadelphia :)
Btw, since you guys are doing biweekly, your completions for question #1 will be due on Sunday, May 31st at 7pm. However, if you both finish earlier, I will post your next question early (whenever you check-in).
I went to school in Atlanta. I lived in Fulton County and then I moved to Lithia Springs in Douglas County.
Hi guys, just a reminder your completions were due at 7 pm (an hour ago). Try to get them in as soon as you can so I can give you your next question or give your partner an update :)

Welcome to your little nook—a quiet corner for your stories to meet ☁️🤍

🔄 How It Works
• Every week or every other week, a new question will be posted. Questions will be picked at random so it is possible for a pair to receive questions that no other pair will receive.
• Both partners will write their answer to the question in this thread
• Then, you will select a book to read based on/inspired by your partner's answer
• After you finish your book, you might want to share how you connected their story to the book. They might be curious. A shorter explanation of this will also be in your completion post so it's up to you how you want to do it!
• Completions are due Sunday at 7pm EST. If you chose the weekly option, they will be due every Sunday & if you chose biweekly then they will be due every other Sunday. New questions will be posted Sunday evening.

💞 About the Questions
Questions will vary in tone. Some may be more surface-level, while others may invite a more personal or introspective response. You may answer at whatever level feels comfortable to you.
For example, if the question were:
“What is something that changed you?”
One person might answer with something simple, like moving to a new city or starting a new job.
Someone else might answer with something more reflective, like a friendship ending or a moment that changed how they saw themselves.
Both types of answers are completely valid.
**Remember** the more details you provide your partner, the more they have to go off of when choosing a book. Even simple answers can be given with detail.
---
📚 Choosing the Book
After your partner answers, you will choose a book to read based on some meaningful connection to what they shared.
The connection can be based on things like:
• a theme (e.g., grief, identity, love, growth)
• a situation or dynamic (e.g., friendship conflict, starting over, family relationships)
• a specific detail (e.g., a job, hobby, or life event mentioned)
• a person, place, or object (e.g., a character/author with the same name, a setting, a time period, or a meaningful item)
• or another thoughtful connection/interpretation of their answer
For example:
• If your partner talks about moving somewhere new, you might choose a book set in that location or about starting over.
• If they mention a specific name, you could choose a book with a character or author with that name.
• If they describe a relationship dynamic, you might choose a book that explores something similar.
This challenge is not meant to be overly rigid, but your choice should have a clear and thoughtful connection.
If you feel like you need more to work with, you are encouraged to ask follow-up questions. This helps you better understand your partner’s answer, clarify details, and make a more intentional and meaningful book choice while getting to know each other better.
