Saving Grace by Julie Garwood Saving Grace by Julie Garwood is one of the best romances novels that I have read. I would urge our members to read this book whether or not it is selected as a book of the month. I am strongly endorsing this selection and I will only nominate one other book as a result.

I would like to nominate Touch the Dark (Cassandra Palmer, #1) by Karen Chance Touch the Dark (Cassandra Palmer, Book 1) by Karen Chance. Karen Chance was nominated as Author of the Month in January 2010 and I had not heard of her. After doing some research, she is an author about whom I would like to know more.

Cassandra Palmer is a young women with enormous paranormal powers who was raised in a vampire household. She discovers that the vampire who raise her killed her parents. In order to escape his clutches she appeals to the Vampire Senate. She ends up working with a sexy master vampire and may gain more than for which she bargained. I haven't read this book, but it sounds very interesting.

Colleen (colleenct1) | 1537 comments All those sound like great books, however I would like to nominate When Autumn Leaves A Novel by Amy S. Foster This is what was written about it:

In Avening, a tiny town on the Pacific coast, it's hard not to believe in magic. This is a town where the shoes in the window always fit, where you can buy a love potion at the corner shop, and where the woods at the outskirts of town just might be the door to another world. And, of course, there's Autumn, Avening's beloved resident witch. From what's known of its mythical founding, Avening has always been a haven for people who are a little bit different, a place where they can come to discover what makes them so special.

When Autumn receives news that she's been promoted to a higher coven, she also learns she has to replace herself. But who in Avening is in tune enough with her own personal magic to take over the huge responsibility of town witch? Autumn has a list of thirteen women and men who just might have what it takes-but how can she get them to open their eyes to the magic in their lives?

This endlessly surprising and heart-warming debut is the story of coming to terms with the magical things we take for granted every day-our friends, our community, and, most of all, ourselves.

I think this will be a good book.

Wow, some really awesome suggestions, everyone!

Kathleen, do you remember if I read that one, if we talked about it, you and I? It sounds super familiar, and looking at the cover, I could swear I have it at home. I'll have to look...

The Summoner (Chronicles of the Necromancer, #1) by Gail Z. Martin The Summoner by Gail Z. Martin "Chronicles of the Necromancer", # 1

The comfortable world of Martris Drayke, second son of King Bricen of Margolan, is shattered when his older half-brother, Jared, and Jared¿s dark mage, Foor Arontala, kill the king and seize the throne. Tris is the only surviving member of the royal family aside from Jared the traitor. Tris flees with three friends: Soterius, captain of the guard; Carroway, the court¿s master bard; and Harrtuck, a member of the royal guard. Tris harbors a deep secret. In a land where spirits walk openly and influence the affairs of the living, he suspects he may be the mage heir to the power of his grandmother, Bava K¿aa, once the greatest sorceress of her age. Such magic would make Tris a Summoner, the rarest of magic gifts, capable of arbitrating between the living and the dead.

Everlasting Kiss by Amanda Ashley Everlasting Kiss by Amanda Ashley "Everlasting", # 1

Daisy O'Donnell doesn't get the attraction some women feel for vampires. She likes her men with a pulse. And she's just met one who's full of life: Erik Delacourt, the unreasonably sexy man she keeps meeting at a popular L.A. nightclub called the Crypt. She barely knows him, but there's no resisting the connection she feels... There's one important detail Erik hasn't gotten around to telling her yet. He's a powerful vampire out to hunt the Blood Thief who is draining young vampires all over the city - and who has just raised the stakes by destroying one of Erik's friends. To Erik, Daisy is a bright spot of innocence in a world of darkness and menace. He'll do anything - even lie to her - to keep her safe and pure.
