"Surrender" can also be found in the Gifts of Love anthology. I really enjoyed this story. It was one of the rare novellas that I've awarded keeper status.

I LOVED Surrender! It is a keep for me too!

I have a question for anyone who has read the Gamblers series and the short story Promises. I know that Derek Craven shows up as a secondary character in Promises, and the story is sometimes listed as part of the Gamblers series. Is it really part of the series or does it just have Derek in it? Would I be missing anything or getting any spoilers if I didn't read the other two books first?

I haven't read that series, Julie, so I'm sorry, I'm of no help. Hopefully someone else will know.

Oh, another good idea would be to go to the book folder and post in the first book in the series thread.

Julie, I don't remember Derek Craven being in Promises. It's been a while since I read it. If he was, he has a blink and you miss it role. Seeing how Derek was my favorite LK hero for a long time and I read that story after Dreaming of You, I don't know that I'd forget him having a prominent role.

Derek's role in Promises is very small and his scene takes place at his gambling establishment (if I remember correctly). I don't recall it having any bearing on the actual Gamblers books.

I agree with Laura.
