Nona (goodreadscomnona) | 61 comments Hello, I'm in search of some old bodice rippers set in medieval time period. I would greatly appreciate any help from any and all.

message 2: by Angelique (new)

Angelique Anderson | 3 comments I've been looking for some as well since I read The Knight's Conquest. The story wasn't the best and it wasn't a bodice ripper, but I loved the setting!

message 3: by Misfit (new)

Misfit Nona, there's some I've come across that are supposedly on William Marshal's family and/or descendents. I've got some coming from Bookmooch and will get more blurb info up on Goodreads when I get them.

I absolutely positively do not recommend Macgillivray's books nor this one,

The Conqueror by Kris Kennedy

It was like castle suburbs how many places they managed to travel to and from in one night and still had time to make whoopee.

wolf and dove - woodiweiss
conquerer - brenda joyce
The Falcon and the Flower
Rose of Rapture

Maddie | 7 comments How about The Hawk and the Dove by Virginia Henley. It is described as taking place in Elizabethan times.

Nona (goodreadscomnona) | 61 comments thank you all, I've got a good start to my search.

Misfit keep me up on your postings as you get them, I am curious about William Marshall's family being in one, he is a hunk, even if he's been dead for a few hundered years, lol.

Thank you Seton. I've actually read those and enjoyed them greatly, I just have to find some fresh reads to get out of my slump I'm in. Thanks for the suggestions.

As I find them I'll post a few here as well

message 7: by Nona (new)

Nona (goodreadscomnona) | 61 comments so I snagged up a medieval romance, a knight named Drake with some major flaws and a hellcat heroine The Black Knight by Connie Mason

not medieval but it's got my interest. Boudicca by Elizabeth Wolfe In the time of Nero a Roman soldier caught in a war with Boudicca and a love is formed...plenty of potential.

message 8: by seton (new)

seton (lindaseton42) ok then. How about the Fire series by Anita Mills? Those are BRs.

There is also the BLACK LYON and other medivals by Jude Deveraux but u probably read those. Also the Song series by Catherine Coulter.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) Check out Marsha Canham. Very intense and gritty medievals.

message 10: by Nona (new)

Nona (goodreadscomnona) | 61 comments awesome, I have not read any Jude Deveraux so will check into them. I have read one Coulter and didn't care for it but I will give it another shot.

Thanx Danielle, does Canham write series or stand alone books?

message 11: by Pamela(AllHoney) (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Nona I've read a few of Marsha Canham and even though some are series I think they stand alone quite well. I also recommend The Black Lyon and also the Velvet series of Jude Deveraux (Velvet series includes The Velvet Promise: Saga Montgomery, Highland Velvet: Saga Montgomery, Velvet Song: Saga Montgomery and Velvet Angel: Saga Montgomery. She has a few other medievals too.

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 6 comments Elisabeth Lowell has a Medieval trilogy:

Untamed
Forbidden
Enchanted

It also has some paranormal elements in it. I've only read the last one, but I'm looking to get the first two.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) I think Pamela did a great job of answering your question, Nona.

Yz, I enjoyed the Elizabeth Lowell medievals.

Both.

Misfit I loved Canham's Robin Hood trilogy. Lots of tongue in cheek humor as well.

Through a Dark Mist (Robin Hood, #1) by Marsha Canham The Last Arrow (Robin Hood, #3) by Marsha Canham In the Shadow of Midnight (Robin Hood, #2) by Marsha Canham

message 16: by Love love (new)

Love love | 120 comments You might want to try "Lord of Hawkfell Island" by Catherine Coulter

message 17: by Nona (new)

Nona (goodreadscomnona) | 61 comments thank you all!! I ordered The Black Lyon, Highland Velvet today and picked up The Prize by Julie Garwood from the library. Hopefully this will get me started again.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) I love The Prize, Nona. Enjoy!

message 19: by Nona (new)

Nona (goodreadscomnona) | 61 comments oh thank you I look forward to reading it, sounds good and Royce is a great name for some dashing hero

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) I agree. Royce was an awesome hero. Nicolaa was awesome, as well.

message 21: by Nona (new)

Nona (goodreadscomnona) | 61 comments hehe, I like her, disguising herself as a nun to escape.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) I love how she tells Royce he's attractive, and he thinks she's crazy. :)

message 23: by Nona (new)

Nona (goodreadscomnona) | 61 comments lol, I'm loving it so far, I already love Royce and Nicholaa is a little hellcat which I love a heroine that can hold her own.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) Nicolaa is strong, but sweet. A good combo.

Carolyn F. Danielle "The Book Huntress" wrote: "I love how she tells Royce he's attractive, and he thinks she's crazy. :)"

I know Danielle, how she says he's conceited and everyone looks at her like she's crazy.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) Too funny. I need to reread it!

Nona (goodreadscomnona) | 61 comments I think it's a keeper, I'm really enjoying reading it.

Wendy, Lady Evelyn Quince (ladyevelynquince) | 245 comments Anita Mill's Lady Of Fire is a great medieval and the first in a series of 5. The hero is wonderful and loving...but it's the villain, Robert Belesme, who really makes the book sizzle.

Wendy wrote: "Anita Mill's Lady Of Fire is a great medieval and the first in a series of 5."

I read Books 2 & 3 way back in high school. Don't remember a thing about them! But I'll get them all someday and actually read them in order. :P

yeah, Belesme was more interesting than the hero, which is a weakness of the bk. I said as much in my review posted on GR

Carolyn F. I just finished Highland Vow that's set in the 1400s. It was really a wonderful book.
