A naked man with a knife and blood all over his body stumbles into a high-society party where Eve and Roarke are in attendance. It looks like a ritual killing with gruesome undertones and Eve has to face, once again, the idea that evil exists in supernatural form. She doesn't buy it, of course. Isis from Ceremony in Death makes a reappearance in this one.

Although it was a quick solve, I really liked this one. Of course, when I listened to how Eve asked the questions I could understand how it would happen. Of course, some crimes are very easily solved. I just can't understand how people can be that evil.
Man. I have to say that I remember really NOT liking this one. I really don't like ritualistic stuff. They REALLY creep me out. Plus, I remember this one being SUPER sad. I'll probably skip this one on my reread of the series.

This one was so-so for me. I liked to have a short one as a breather after Salvation. I love how Roarke goes on the defensive when it's his stuff involved. It's like anyone with their possessions (including my son with his Legos). It's like crystal to them...DON'T TOUCH...HANDS OFF!!!
I'm on to Promises which I'm told holds some "promise" for a very good story! LOL
