I was inspired to put on Interpol, "Turn on the Bright Lights." "Stella Was a Diver and She Was Always Down" is currently playing.

I love Kelis, East. That's one of my favorites by her!
I don't know. I hope soon. Her last CD wasn't as good. It was too urban and and hip-hop for me--there are some good songs, but some not so good sounds, too. I think "Milkshake" is an awesome album.
They broke up? No kidding. They seemed so in love. I want the original Kelis back, although too bad about her relationship ending.
I was sent the new one by TV Set for review. They are a No Wave type of thing out of Chicago and have been around for, cripes, over 20 years now! So far it's O.K.. Kind of typical of a Chicago outfit from the 80's, if their name wasn't Naked Raygun (who were killer). But I am only on song 2 and it might get better. But I expect there will be one killer track, and the rest will be mediocre, unless you like the anti-music movement, then it will all be wonderful.
Late 70's - early 80's movement. Basically it is the same as the No Wave thing. Bands such as Psychic TV, Throbbing Gristle, Lydia Lunch, etc. More or less noise with a little melody here and there. A precursor of sorts to the true Industrial movement (not what Nine Inch Nails created).

I had a couple of friends who really got into the stuff. Drove me up a wall. Sonic Youth is more or less a commercialized version of the junk, for as close as they could possibly be to commercial.

It doesn't sound like my thing. I like music that sounds like music. :)
Eastofoz wrote: "Danielle, that's the only song I know by Kelis. She has such a cool/smooth voice."East, I'd recommend her "Milkshake" CD to start with. But her first two CDs are great too. I can't recommend "Kelis is Here." It's not as good, IMHO. Although I love the song, "Goodbyes" from that CD.

Nowadays, I don't get too excited when celebrities say they are so in love. It doesn't seem to last.
A cover of Moonage Daydream (originally David Bowie) From Patti Rothberg. You Drive Me Wild off the Live In Japan album from The Runaways
Back on the Chain Gang by The Pretenders.
Lots and lots. I'm totally in love with music.
I'm firing up some Andrews Sisters with Bing Crosby right about now. I just adore the sisters. Then when they team up with Bing...it's just friggin' amazing. All 4 of those voices in one song is hypnotizing!
If you are checking out Bing and the Andrews, be forewarned!!! These songs are from around 1941-1945!!!
I adore Bing, I'm just warning somebody who is under 20 what she might be heading to check out. :) Heck, I'm the one listening to them right now...so I obviously love them.

My family doesn't have my appreciation :(
My 12 year old daughter is a fan of the Marx Brothers and Buster Keaton, while my son (who is 6) watches Abbott and Costello about once a week. I try to train them properly.
I like Abbott and Costello but I didn't like Laurel and Hardy. I find that strange since they are so similiar.
Right this minute i'm listening to Bon Jovi, Runaway. I'm listening to Pandora and I made a hair band station. It's fing cool.

i don't care for the 3 stooges either :)
