Songs that made you cry
Everybody Hurts by R.E.M.Calling All Angels by Train
One Tin Soldier by Coven
You Won't See Me Cry by Wilson Phillips
Cry by James Blunt
Love Hurts by Nazareth
November Rain - Guns and Roses used to make me cry. And a very very old song by Elvis called Old Sheppie about a dog that died.
Better Days by Dianne Reeves. It's about her Grandmother and in the song her Grandmother dies. I first fell in love with this song while my grandmother was still alive and I knew that when she died everytime I heard it, I would want to cry. She did and I do. Also, Sarah Smile by Hall and Oates. It was the first concert I ever went to as a child (around 6 or 7) and I used to sing it to my Granny all the time, because her name was Sarah. When she became beridden and she was having a difficult time mentally, I would sing Sarah Smile and she would smile and say "that's my girl Sandy".
Oh, I love "Shannon.""Where Have You Been" by Kathy Mattea about a couple who have been married for a long time and one of them has Alzheimer's. *boo hoo*
I can think of a lot of songs..maybe because i cry easily. But my picks would include Sleeps with Butterflies by Tori Amos, Sophia by Nerina Pallot and Last Request by Paolo Nutini.
My husband can't listen to Pearl Jam's cover of "The Kiss" without getting all mopey and depressed. I always hated that song, and PJ singing it makes me hate it more.
Yeah, her cat. She lived up in the hills in California and her cat went missing. It was killed by some predator. It's still a sad song and can be sung about a friend or whoever.
"Tears in Heaven" by Eric Clapton ,he wrote after his 4yr-old son accidentally fell from the balcony of his friend's 53rd floor apartment.
The song that always, always makes me cry...."The Way We Were" - Barbara Streisand. I cry everytime I watch the movie too.
OMG...Hubble, Hubble. I love Hubble. Danielle, I had forgotten "Evergreen".
Tressa, I've never heard "Papa Can You Hear Me?" I will have to check that one out. I never did see "Yentl" either, but have wanted to watch it for years...just haven't yet.
Pretty much all the songs off of Alison Krauss's album, A Hundred Miles or More. The n there's the song, "When she loved Me" from toy story and "Forbidden Act" even though it's instrumental.
Lyle Lovett's "Flyswatter Icewater Blues," a working man's lament that also contains a good woman.Honey put down that flyswatter
And pour me some ice water
And would you bring me my hammer
And could you find me some nails
For soon I'll be going
To work for this living
And with you here to guide me
Then I cannot fail

Kenny Chesney There Goes My LifeHe smiles.....
There goes my life.
There goes my future, my everything.
I love you, daddy good-night.
There goes my life.
I read Eric Clapton's bio (recomended. That guy can be funny) and the part with Tears in Heaven just made me crap my pants. It was soo.... unreal. How could something that bad happen. I guess I was a little naieve when I read the book. Now I know stuff like that happens a lot. Whoa. Long rant. Anyway, back to weepy songs.....
I put some of my cry baby songs at the Love Song site. Guess I could move them here. Ok here goes.

I put in the name The Carpenters on pandora this morning. And it's not been to many cry baby songs, but a whole lot of LOVE songs.
The Only Exception by Paramore. It's about Hayley William's (lead singer) parent's divorce and love issues.
"Decode" by Paramore doesn't make me cry, but it's a powerful song. I watch Twilight go off just to hear the song.
Eugenia wrote: "Please, The Carpenters 'Superstar' is a great crybaby song, it's also a super love song."Yes, Eugenia...I agree with you on "Superstar". Another of their sad songs is "Solitaire". Very sad, but beautiful song. I think it was written and originally recorded by Neil Sedaka. I've never heard his version though. Never been able to find it. Several have covered it. Jann Arden did a nice cover.
Thanks, Pamela. I just found & downloaded from iTunes as well. Last time I looked they didn't have it.
Guitar Chick-Dolly Dagger wrote: "The Only Exception by Paramore. It's about Hayley William's (lead singer) parent's divorce and love issues."I was about to include that song too. Its my current favorite. :)
Paramore can really be awesome. They're one of the only modern bands I listne to. Their songs actually have meaning.
Eugenia there's not too much that the Carpenters don't sing that isn't 1) a super love song, 2) a crybaby song, or 3) thought provoking.
How Could An Angel Break My Heart --by-- Toni Braxton
How Could An Angel Break My Heart --by-- Toni Braxton
FROZEN --by-- MADONNA
It just came on, and every time I hear it I just want to break down. It's gotten better over the years, now it's a laugh or cry thing. But still way sad to me.

"With or Without You" U2
"Lost Together" Blue Rodeo
"All Out of Love" Air Supply
"Promise Me" Beverly Craven
Danielle "The Book Huntress" wrote: "I love Sarah McLachlan, East. Those are three of my faves by her. "Elsewhere" is my favorite."Just about anything by her kills me Danielle.

G-C-D-Dagger if you have anyone who can match the vocals both of these songs would work for a girl band. I love them both and to this day they give me chills and make me some what sad. Please check them out everyone!

I love Nobody's Fool. I'd like to see our parents see us sing that. We'd probably get our butts kicked. Ah, well we can make excuses for it.

Dog and Butterfly by Heart
Shooting Star by Bad Company
Knockin on Heavens Door (pick a version)
The list goes on. That's just off the top of my head.
