Nicholas Sparks Novels discussion

Thank you Vale. It's really that I want to talk about. Actually, Nicholas Sparks focuses on some invisible lines or aspects that we can not recognize it at first. On the other hand, he's trying to depict love in other ways like "The Lucky One" which starts story with a photo from unknown woman or inthe bend in the road, story starts with Sarah as a teacher and Miles as a deputy and the whole relationship. I really love to read his books thousands rimes because every time I notice new aspects in his books.

I've read most of his books which show our usual relationship in extraordinary ways. Try to read rodanth Night or Message In The Bottle or A Walk To Remember. All of them are trying to tell same thing but in different way.

I agree with you Amy, you noticed on good point and I really enjoy reading his books by different moods which can help you feel different aspects of his writings.

Yes you are right. When reading a book you should be able to kind of feel what the character is going through, whether its a sad time or a happy time.

I agree with Amy. What I like most about Sparks' works is the way he captures my emotions. I haven't fallen in love yet (in real life). But I do seem to fall in love when I read his novels.(Call me a hopeless romantic!)

So far, I have read only a few of his books--A Walk to Remember, At First Sight, The Last Song, Message in a Bottle.

He's one of the reasons why I have enjoyed reading novels. He uses vivid descriptions of the scenes as well as the characters making them appear more realistic.

In reading The Last Song, I was, at first, unused to his "third person point of view" but as I go on, I found it quite engaging.

The only downside for me is when there are "sensual scenes" which I am not so fond of.

Rein , someday you do fall in love and you'll see what happens inside you like all those characters that happen for them in Nicholas Sparks novels.

Maybe I will, maybe I won't. Who knows. But I am pretty much willing to wait for that day.

I have only read Nights in Rodanthe and Dear John. I have watched the movies A Walk to Remember, Message in a Bottle, and the Notebook.
Whether I have watched or read his stories, I cry. I guess you can call me a bawlbaby. I want to have someone love me like Noah loved Allie. I have somewhat experienced the life of Adrienne (without the Inn and death). I am a hopeless romantic as well.
On the topic of the sexual scenes, Nicholas' take isn't quite as explicit as most books I've read, but they are far more explicit than those in the young adult section.
No matter, I love to read (and watch) Nicholas Sparks stories. I get lost in them. He is a great storyteller and I agree with Vale about his career. He is definitely going to higher places.

Yea, his books are kinda addictive. They will get you hooked, until the end of the story. And most of the time, even after reading it, the characters won't seem to leave your mind.

I agree.. compared to other books, the sexual scenes in his works are "far more tolerable".

If you read his book "Three Weeks With My Brother" you will see that quite a lot of his stories are actually related to his or his family members lives in some way or another. I think it is a great way to put personality in his stories. I am sure it helps bring out the emotions for everyone when you can write based on people you love and have lost.

I've read his biography which was too say to read because in all periods of his life , he's lost all his precious family members. Actually, his novels are different from other authors who try to put personality in their stories. I don't know but every time I read his novels , I think that I feel sympathy or feel sad or enjoy putting myself in his characters' shoes.

That is hilarious but honestly though...I don't' know if I saw him again out and about I would even recognize him.

ok nicholas sparks is AMAZING. He writes stories that you cannot help but fall in love with. He tugs your heartstrings and u enjoy every min of it. Its a rollercoaster. i'll go from laughing to crying to smiling. You feel all tingly inside!! Ever story i have read has taken every emotion out of me. He is very talanted! there is always an unexpected twist that you wait for. every time i think he is losing his touch i get surprise by a shocker! LOVE LOVE LOVE HIS BOOKS!!!

I guess I'm going to have to start over reading his books again. I've been reading Sparks for years, and am now finding that I've forgotten a lot of the characters and plots. What's a girl to do but read them again, right??? LOL!

I have read them all except for 3 weeks with my brother.
I love the characters and the internal dialouges they have with themselves. I also love how they don't always make the "easy" choice no matter what the costs.
He makes it where you care about the characters and you want to root for them.

I am crazy about Nicholas Sparks, however I’ve gotten a little tired of the repeating theme. But I’ll never give up on him. Lol! I did find a new author that was similar to his writing that I was blown away by. It’s a new book. I read it right after Thanksgiving. The Water is Wide by Natalie Banks. I stumbled on her when I was on instagram and I bought her book on kindle. It was one of the best books I have ever read. Really surprised she’s not out there more. I am hoping she will be releasing another book soon. Have any of you read it? I’m dying to talk to someone else who read it.

The first book I read was The Notebook, which was a great start and had me falling from the very first paragraph into his amazing work. Then I read The Wedding, at that point I realized I was totally into his love stories, and his way of narrating is beautiful. Now I am currently reading Two by Two which is a really nice story. I also read At first sight and Nights in Rodanthe. With which one should I go on? I have bought plenty of his books

I loved The Guardian and A Bend in the Road! If you love his writing, then you’ll love this new author I discovered too. Same as Sparks’ writing. Her name is Natalie Banks and her novel was called The Water is Wide! Enjoy!

I just recently finished "Every Breath" and I just absolutely loved his character build-up I also love how he always has such an unexpecting plot twist. You just never know when it's coming
