Steph (angel4492) | 32827 comments I, for one, am always up for checkin' out a light, funny PNR series. Especially when I participate in challenges, these books tend to offer a nice buffer between the "hardier" books each month. Kinda like a pallet cleanser during a wine tasting. :)

Some I've read and liked:

Immortally Sexy by Stephanie Rowe
Babes-on-Brooms by Vicki Lewis Thompson
Ghost Dusters Mysteries by Wendy Roberts
Jane Jameson by Molly Harper
Demon Slayer by Angie Fox
Jane Madison by Mindy Klasky
Dead End Dating by Kimberly Raye
Vegas Vampires by Erin McCarthy
Broken Heart, OK by Michele Bardsley

Book #1 of each series:
Date Me, Baby, One More Time (Immortally Sexy, Book 1) by Stephanie Rowe Blonde With a Wand (Babes-on-Brooms, #1) by Vicki Lewis Thompson The Remains of the Dead (A Ghost Dusters Mystery, #1) by Wendy Roberts Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs (Jane Jameson, #1) by Molly Harper The Accidental Demon Slayer (Demon Slayer, Book 1) by Angie Fox Girl's Guide to Witchcraft (Jane Madison, #1) by Mindy Klasky Dead End Dating (Dead End Dating, #1) by Kimberly Raye High Stakes (Vegas Vampires, #1) by Erin McCarthy I'm the Vampire, That's Why (Broken Heart Vampires, #1) by Michele Bardsley

What are some of yours?

FlibBityFLooB | 173 comments I would add:
You Slay Me (Aisling Grey Guardian, #1) by Katie MacAlister Undead and Unwed (Undead, #1) by MaryJanice Davidson

Steph (angel4492) | 32827 comments Ugh, the last couple of books in the Undead series have been a bummer for me, so I don't jump to buy those right away anymore. :(

message 4: by FlibBityFLooB (new)

FlibBityFLooB | 173 comments I still plan on reading the one that comes out next month. We'll seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. :)

message 5: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32827 comments I still have Undead and Unwelcome #8 to read. LOL! Lemme know what you think of Undead and Unfinished.

message 6: by Yz the Whyz (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 44 comments How about Shanna Swendson's Katie Chandler's series? It's like Sex and the City meets Harry Potter. Cute, fun and very light. Furthermore, I think it's all complete.

Enchanted, Inc. (Book 1) by Shanna Swendson Once Upon Stilettos (Book 2) by Shanna Swendson Damsel Under Stress (Book 3) by Shanna Swendson Don't Hex with Texas (Book 4) by Shanna Swendson

message 7: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32827 comments Sounds good. I think I might have some of those, Yz. I'll have to push them up on my TBR list. I love Sex in the City and who doesn't love HP? :)

message 8: by FlibBityFLooB (new)

FlibBityFLooB | 173 comments I love that series, Yz!

message 9: by Kindlelicious (new)

Kindlelicious | 39 comments I would recommend anything by Shelly Laurenston/GA Aiken, her books are so cute and sexy. And also my fav series, Immortals After Dark by Kresley Cole, is hilarious!

message 10: by Sandra J (last edited Jul 20, 2010 07:14AM) (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 145 comments I'll second anything by Shelly Laurenston. I often laugh out loud while reading them. Her shifters are a pretty rowdy bunch.

message 11: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32827 comments I may squeeze Dragon Actually into a challenge this year, so I'll get back to you. I haven't read any of Laurenston's yet either.

message 12: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25920 comments I'm shocked Steph. I always end up giving 4 or 5 stars to Shelly Laurenston or GA Aiken. I like 'em all.

You are the only other person I have seen own up to reading Sons of Destiny...I loved it, gobbled them up last summer. Yes, very funny stuff and cute and NOT young adult.

message 18: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments I liked them. Well I've only read the 1st 2 but I found them highly entertaining. They aren't going to win a Pulitzer but then how many paranormal romances will. But I foudn them to be light fun escapist reads. One of the downsides to paranormals to me is that they can so super serious sometimes. Everyone has had this tragic past or something. It was nice to read something lite and funny with a bit of magic.

message 19: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments Were they billed somewhere as YA? There's some sex in them. Not like erotica sex (in the 1st 2 anyway). But too much sex to be YA.

Steph (angel4492) | 32827 comments jD wrote: "I loved it, gobbled them up la..."

Welcome, jD!

Thanks for the rec, guys. I'll have to look into that series.

Mary, I'm with you, sometimes it's nice to just sit back and enjoy a light PNR read without being weighted down by all the dramas.

message 21: by jD (new)

jD (jd_4everbooked) I have not seen that series mixed into YA but I have seen some others and thought I should make the point just incase someone is following the discussion and picks it up unprepared. There is quite a bit of sex in a few of them, especially the brother that shapeshifts.

I have to agree. You should continue and read the rest of the series, they're all pretty much like that. I really enjoyed them all.

I'll have to third the shock, that you have yet to read Shelly Laurenston, Steph.

message 23: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32827 comments I know, I know. But, hey, I'm only one girl and I'm readin' as fast as I can. LOL Her "Dragon Kin", "Pack" and "Pride" are all on my "series to start" list.

What about her Aug 2010 book: Hunting Season? Is that a new series, separate from the others?

message 24: by Rossy (new)

Rossy (naughtybookjunkie) | 36 comments It's sort of in the same world, but different.

message 25: by Kindlelicious (new)

Kindlelicious | 39 comments Hunting season was soooo good, but she said she isn't picking the series back up anytime soon. :( Hopefully, she will change her mind.

message 26: by Literary Ames (new)

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 1854 comments Laurenston is my new favourite author. The Magnus Pack series was unbelieveably good especially if you're having a crappy day. I read them all this month. I think I might start the Pride series next.

message 27: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments Not released yet, but I am guessing Janet Evanovich's new series will qualify: Wicked Appetite (The Unmentionables, #1) by Janet Evanovich
