20.1 - The Most Improved Player - Deirdre's Task - Sweltering Summer Days
Perfect! Chocolate chip cookie dough is one of my favorites and I keep meaning to try this series, so I am going to read Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder. YAY!
I think my favorite is chocolate chip cookie dough (it changes depending on my mood). So I'll most likely read either Like Water for Chocolate or Blood and Chocolate.
ok, so if i read this right...my favorite is Sweet Cream from Coldstone, so I could pick a book that has Sweet or Cream in the title - like Sweet Surrender??
My favorite ice cream is Cake Batter from Coldstone. So I'm going to read I Was Told There'd Be Cake.
Ok so I can't eat ice cream so I really don't have a favorite. So can I just pick a flavor that I think I would like?
I am assuming we are allowed to use a Cold Stone signature flavor, like Peanut Butter Cup Perfection or Apple Pie A La Cold Stone? I want ice cream now, damn it. :oD
Is Cold Stone a store like 31 Flavors? I live in a small town in Alaska and we don't have ice cream stores. We do eat lots of ice cream, though, all year round.
If anyone likes mint chocolate chip, I recommend:The Miracle Life of Edgar Mint by Brady Udall. It's a really unique read.
that is sweet task!!!My favourite ice cream is Baileys or Tiramisu.
Does Bailey's Cafe would work for this task?
If not I`d readTea and Tiramisu
Hmmm... does anyone have any suggestions for Moose Tracks? (I'm not sure if Moose Tracks is just a Canadian thing, but it's so good!)
Kiri wrote: "So.. anyone have ideas for Chunky Munky?"Kiri - I assume you were talking about Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey which is one of my favorites. I just double checked the spelling of Monkey and you have the following options:
Welcome to the Monkey House
The Monkey Wrench Gang
The Stone Monkey
Love Monkey
There are many more with Monkey in the title - these were the ones I had on my TBR list.
All of you who have Coldstone stores still open near them are lucky. The only one I know of that's still open where I live is in the mall, and it's closing soon. The one a block away from where I live closed a month before I moved in >_<Granted, if I had one in walking distance, I'd probably be dirt poor and weigh five hundred lbs. But that's entirely beside the point.
For grean tea ice cream can I read Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace... One School at a Time or The Tea Rose.

I'm practically drooling - I see a trip to Coldstone in my future tonight......................

I wonder if Baskin Robbins is open at 615am? >_> I know Wawa is...I'll pretend I'm a college student and eat ice cream for breakfast!
PS: Oh, yeah. I'm going to read Monkey Town: The Summer of the Scopes Trial for this, since I love Chunky Monkey. I'll need to eat ice cream while reading in order to offset the righteous indignation I'll be feeling.
Jasmine wrote: "Hmmm... does anyone have any suggestions for Moose Tracks? (I'm not sure if Moose Tracks is just a Canadian thing, but it's so good!)"Tracks by Louise Erdrich
I haven't read these, but they'd work:
Dust Tracks on a Road: An Autobiography by Zora Neale Hurston
Tracks by Robyn Davidson
Tied to the Tracks by Rosina Lippi
Frozen Tracks by Åke Edwardson
Moose: A Memoir of Fat Camp by Stephanie Klein
Beauty Tips from Moose Jaw: Travels in Search of Canada by Will Ferguson
Short & Tall Tales: Moose County Legends Collected by James Mackintosh Qwilleran Lilian Jackson Braun
Is that a Moose in Your Pocket? by Kim Green
My favourite is Peanut Butter & Chocolate, so I think I'm going to go with Sorcery and Cecelia or The Enchanted Chocolate Pot by Patricia C. Wrede.

I have so wanted to read Moose: A Memoir of Fat Camp and love Moose Tracks as well.
GAR. I am actually having a problem deciding between many great options on all these tasks. What a fun problem to have!
I'm a Cookies 'N Cream girl.... And BOY could I use some Blue Bell right now! I think I'm going to read Models Don't Eat Chocolate Cookies, which is on my TBR.For the monkey list: Hungry Monkey: A Food-Loving Father's Quest to Raise an Adventurous Eater
I don't really eat ice cream. But I love Marshmallows, so Rocky Road would probably be my favorite. I'm going to read The Road.
Hungry Monkey: A Food-Loving Father's Quest to Raise an Adventurous Eater is a fun read, it has recipes, for those of you still looking for a book for that task, and it has a lovely BLUE cover :). I recommend the brussel sprouts.
Can the word be part of the subtitle? My favorite flavor is Ben & Jerry's Concession Obsession and I'd like to read The Zahir by Paulo Coelho. The subtitle is "A Novel of Obsession."
Great task! I love ice cream way too much. I like most kinds as long as there's chocolate so Rocky Road is the flavor I'm choosing for the task. I'm going to read Epitaph Road by David Patneaude. I did have one other book, The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake: A Novel by Aimee Bender, that I really want to read, but I couldn't justify lemon as my favorite ice cream. Maybe it will work for someone else, though.
Rebecca wrote: "Kiri wrote: "So.. anyone have ideas for Chunky Munky?"Kiri - I assume you were talking about Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey which is one of my favorites. I just double checked the spelling of Monkey..."
I thought about one of those.. but I'm caught with this guideline..
"The word in the book title should exactly match the word in the ice cream title" I didn't find one with "munky".
Although the book about the scopes trial is VERY tempting.. (and what an excuse to indulge... oh wait she didn't say we had to *have* it while we read *did* she.. *sighs* ) :D
Perhaps I can find something with sherbet or Neapolitan..
For those fond of Run Raisin I found these Rum
The Rum Diary: A Novel by Hunter S. Thompson
The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists by Neil Strauss
Rum Punch by Elmore Leonard
And a Bottle of Rum: A History of the New World in Ten Cocktails by Wayne Curtis (Goodreads Author)

Kiri - Ben and Jerry's flavor is "Chunky Monkey" not Munky. I looked in the fridge last night :)With that said, you can use anything with Monkey.
You can check out their website: http://www.benjerry.com/flavors/our-f...#
omg it is. *turns bright red* I could have sworn it was the other. (can I claim impaired eyesight by ice cream?) Thanks Rebecca!well now I'm in a quandry.. since it is the Banana part of Chunky Monkey (not Munky) that I like.. and I adore banana splits (haven't had one in years..but they are GOOD - ever had an upside down one? yum! *cough* anyway..) and did try B&G's version last year.. which is the long way to say.. I think this would fit.
Banana: The Fate of the Fruit That Changed the World by Dan Koeppel
so now.. this or the scopes trial..
Kiri wrote: "omg it is. *turns bright red* I could have sworn it was the other. (can I claim impaired eyesight by ice cream?) Thanks Rebecca! Not a problem - just didn't want to deny you the chance to enjoy your favorite ice cream. I've pretty much decided I'm going to eat some as a special bonus :)
I had a hard time deciding. But I really, really like Dreyers Swiss Orange Sherbet - orange sherbet with chocolate chips in it. So I'm going to read Five Quarters of the Orange by Joanne Harris.
Rhiannon -- Aww. Lactose Intolerant? I think you should select a "dessert" flavor that you like. I imagine there's an ice cream flavor for it.Or choose from this list!

For years I've been buying orange sherbet and mixing chocolate chips into it. (and sometimes chopped pecans or almonds) My daughter thinks I'm deranged.
Delicious Dee the book slut wrote: "ok, so if i read this right...my favorite is Sweet Cream from Coldstone, so I could pick a book that has Sweet or Cream in the title - like Sweet Surrender??"You got it!
Rhiannon wrote: "Ok so I can't eat ice cream so I really don't have a favorite. So can I just pick a flavor that I think I would like?"Definitely. Or, if you have a different flavor of something yummy that you like, that would work too. Like if you enjoy Red Velvet cake (my fave!), just mention in your post that you don't eat ice cream, so you're using _____ flavor.
Jason wrote: "My favorite ice cream is mint chip ice cream. So can I use the book A Chip Called Wanda?"
Yep, that works!
Cait wrote: "I am assuming we are allowed to use a Cold Stone signature flavor, like Peanut Butter Cup Perfection or Apple Pie A La Cold Stone? I want ice cream now, damn it. :oD"
Sure, and feel free to enjoy some ice cream while you read your ice cream task book. =)
Aleksandra wrote: "that is sweet task!!!My favourite ice cream is Baileys or Tiramisu.

I'll accept Bailey's Cafe. And, of course, Tea and Tiramisu works just fine. =)

When I think of a hot summer day, I think of one of my favorite junk foods: ICE CREAM! Think of the name of your favorite ice cream, and read a book whose title contains at least one of the words from the ice cream name. For example, my favorite ice cream is White Chocolate Almond, so I could read The Devil in the White City , Like Water for Chocolate, The Almond Picker: A Novel, or White Chocolate Moments. The word in the book title should exactly match the word in the ice cream title, so I could NOT read Chocolat. When you claim points, tell us what your favorite ice cream flavor is!
If you need suggestions OR have suggestions for books to read for this task post them here.
