Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 22 comments I wish the ebook version wasn't so expensive though at least it is still cheaper than the hardback. ;)

message 12: by Farzan (new)

Farzan (persianguy1983) | 86 comments Yeah it seems to challenge his fans to experience new way of his visions. Also. I liked the story which tries to state mysterious atmosphere in the first of the book.

Sherri (sherrij2003) | 39 comments So I got to meet Nichoas Sparks today!!! He was so nice and got a pic w/ him and he signed my book!!!!! So awesome! Here's a link to my facebook if you want to see pics...

http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?...

By the way he said this book was already signed to be a movie and he will be one of the producers!

message 17: by Sherri (new)

Sherri (sherrij2003) | 39 comments His next book will be out next fall he said but he hasn't even started writing it yet. I have not started Safe Haven yet b/c I am reading something else.

BTW: Remember how the book was originally titled Saying Goodbye? Well, that was a totally different book (he told us this). He said he didn't like how that book was going and Safe Haven had been brewing so he scraped Saying Goodbye and wrote this one starting in February 2010. It only got published about 8 weeks ago...just thought I'd share that fun tidbit of info.

Oh you are sooo lucky. I really wish I could have went!! I'm hoping he comes back next book, I will definitely be going then, no missing out again!! How long were you in line for?

message 19: by Sherri (new)

Sherri (sherrij2003) | 39 comments Well they were going to call people up in groups but he started signing early and I weasled my way in the line and waited there about 5 mins. Then he talked about himself and then opened it up for questions. After that he signed again (doing the groups) and when I left they were only on D and my letter was L (so I'm glad I did it before the "official" signing began).

message 20: by Kathy (new)

message 23: by Phyllis (new)

Phyllis Can we discuss it?

message 24: by Phyllis (new)

Phyllis I didn't think the book was horrible, but the ending was screwy and I was confused by it.

message 25: by Crystalmarie (new)

Crystalmarie (CrystalsNovels) | 11 comments I love the book. Still reading now, and i can not put it down. Love Sparks!

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 22 comments I have heard so many mixed reviews on this I actually decided to hold off on purchasing it.
Does it seem like a Sleeping With the Enemy knock off to anyone? I have heard that being said a lot.

message 27: by Crystalmarie (new)

Crystalmarie (CrystalsNovels) | 11 comments I don't think its anything like the movie.

Edel Waugh Salisbury (edellittlebookfairy) | 2 comments I loved the book but as I was reading it I did notice that it was very similar to " sleeping with the enemy".
Saying that it did not stop me enjoying the book and I enjoyed it so much I stayed up half the night to finish it..
Kevin's character was one of the most horrible, twisted characters I have read in a very long time.. I was hoping on many occasions that he was going to shoot himself with his own gun or wander out in front of a fast moving car...
I am really looking forward to the next book he publishes!! :0)

message 29: by Heather Smith (new)

Heather Smith | 3 comments I just finished this book and I have to admit the last few pages left me very disappointed. I honestly couldn't put this book down. I loved that it was a little more suspenseful (much the same feel as The Guardian)but the "twist" at the end was very disappointing.

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 22 comments I finally read it as well and...yeah it fell short of his other work. For some reason I just didn't enjoy it as much and the writing just wasn't as good.

message 31: by Nyla (new)

Nyla (nilly21) | 6 comments I had the chance to buy this book when I was at walmart but since I have bought all his other books on paperback, I have to wait...I'm considering borrowing the book from a friend so I can just read it then go buy it when it comes out on reprint.

message 32: by Mayoleen (new)

Mayoleen | 16 comments Great book this one was kinda a nail bitter :)

Edel I have to agree I was wishing the same thing for Kevin. Hoping he'd have an accident on the way to NC, get hit by a car on the road, drink himself to death before he even found out where she was, light himself on fire, something!
And then to find out who Jo was! wow that was a twist I didn't see coming! loved it!
Reading this book made me realize how blessed I am to have a husband who would never raise a hand to me. I pray for women, wives and mothers who have to deal with men like Kevin I pray they have the strength of Katie to get themselves out of those relationships before they go too far.
I loved this book I think Sparks did an amazing job with this book! This would have to be in the top 5 for me in his books.

message 35: by Belle (new)

Belle | 2 comments LOVE this one!

message 36: by Crystalmarie (new)

Crystalmarie (CrystalsNovels) | 11 comments The book is good, but compared to his other Novels, its not great.

message 37: by Isabel (new)

Isabel | 3 comments Great book, loved that this story was not a typical love story written by Sparks. It has Sunda night movie written all over it. I did feel that at times I was disconneted from the story. The last 1/4 was the whole book for me.

message 38: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) Love this book. :)

message 39: by Gina (new)

Gina Estrada (IamMrsEstrada) | 14 comments I am currently reading the book... I'm surprised on your comments with the story... Are you all saying that its not as amazing as what i think it is? :( am kinda having of thoughts not to finish the book anymore.. but i do really really love Sparks' work...

message 40: by Ashlee (new)

Ashlee (ashlee_) | 46 comments Gina, definitely continue. You may enjoy it even if others did not. I personally really liked it.

i already finished the book... and i can say i love the story!!! :) I had goose bumps after i finished the book hahaha i love Katie... her courage and determination to get away from her husband Kevin... and i also love the character of Jo... I am so looking forward for the movie! :) a very beautiful Sparks' novel again.

message 43: by Kristen (new)

Kristen (kkocsis) | 2 comments This book is good but almost too much.. It was hard for me to read this book because of Katie's husband. Although it's hard, it is the true reality of how some women are treated and truly made me feel scared as a reader.

message 46: by Aliyah (new)

Aliyah | 5 comments I read this book in less than a day, I couldn't stop. It was so good! I can't wait for the movie. Julianne Hough is lovely and I adore Josh. <3

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

This was truly a touching and an emotional story. I found that the storyline was very similar as to Sleeping With The Enemy, starring Julia Roberts. Even though the plot is similar, Safe Haven added more touches on romance side, which we could never go wrong. Can't wait to watch the movie.
Wishing you all the best!

message 48: by Aliyah (new)

Aliyah | 5 comments Did you guys see the movie yet!? I couldn't watch the part when he found her, I had to leave the theater. I have to admit the book was definitely better though. I expected a lot more of the movie. (no movie spoilers, don't worry :] )

message 49: by Vita (new)

Vita (retro_librarian) | 38 comments I enjoyed the movie very much.

message 50: by Katie (new)

Katie (catzuz) | 1 comments I thought the movie could have been way better! They changed a lot from the book! I want to see it again and really try to watch it for the movie without judgment from comparing to the book. I liked it overall good choices for the actor and actress that played the leading roles.
