nope...i hate word limits, so a lot of people....what the point? if it is 5 million pages, fine! (as long as it isn't boring, of course)....
i already ahve an idea...just ahve to type it out..we'll see how it goes, eh? lol....this is pretty much just to see who has the best story idea...
Yasee, I have a story idea, but it's trying to write it out without it sounding...really really bad. You should see how many things I've scrapped in the past week...Obviously, I have too much free time
can i be a horror based on a dream?

Yup! You can write whatever the heck you want, basically.
Itty-bitty sidenote directed at no one:(I don't see how it's a contest, but whatever)

This is my story. it doesn't have a title......
“I slammed the front door and ran down the hot rocky pavement. I didn’t know where I was going. I just knew I was running away.
I ran for miles and miles. Soon, I came across this ditch. I stop and to eat an apple from the apple tree, putting my feet in the ditch. But, I will never know how that apple tastes because as soon as I stepped foot into the ditch, I was sliding through it.
Faster and faster I went. It looked like it never ends. I felt myself falling asleep, slowly.
I hit the ground with a thud. I was sure I broke something. I got up and dusted myself off. As soon as I started to walk, my right leg gave in. I must have sprained it.
I got up and limped to what I assumed to be a doctor’s office. I went in and the doctor fixed me up. I left the place and went searching around.
Finally I searched the country side. When I get there, there was a man in the fields. He s\aw me and came over to me. ‘Hey little boy!’ he said. I was not sure about talking to him, but I had a bunch of my dad’s weapons I stole in my back pack so I should’ve been fine. ‘How old are you?’ he asked after I didn’t say anything.
‘I am eight.’ I said.
‘What is your name?’ he asked.
‘Jake. I ran away from home,’ I said then I told him my whole story.
‘Very interesting, Jake.’ He said when I finished. ‘How would you like to work on my farm?’
I nodded and he smiled.
I worked hard night and day. One night, when I was sleeping, I felt someone’s hot breath on my cold skin. My eyes flew open. The farmer man was over me with a knife.
‘What are you doing?’ I screamed.
‘Getting my dinner!’ he exclaimed.
‘Me? How am I your dinner?!’
He shrugged and brought the knife down closer to me. I kicked it away and knocked him to the ground. He was older, so it wasn’t hard to fight him. I grabbed the knife next to him and hung it over him. Tears rolled down my cheeks.
I knocked him out with a rock so I could think without him getting away. I was not safe there, but I didn’t have anywhere else to go. I couldn’t kill him and leave evidence. But, if I killed him with out evidence, then I could get away with it.
When he woke up, I shoved some bug poison down his throat.
After he died, I wrapped him up and to look like laundry. Then, I threw him to the bottom of the river. I put some rocks in the bundle so he would sink.
I rushed back to the hut and went back to sleep.
Eight years later I am where I am now.”
“Dude! You have one weird story! Evil little boy! Are you sure that’s true?” Brandon says.
“Yup! Oh, here comes Mori. Go back to work. I have to get ready for her training session.” I say quickly scrambling to get all my weapons together.

I still see Jake as a 30 year-old farmer, but his background story is interesting...in the good way. It kinda sucks that he ended up working for Mr. Cannibal, but he hijacked the farm and killed him, so it's all good.
My Story :D
it's slightly random- and based on a real place and legend XD
Abandoned: San Zhi Resort
‘Admit it,’ a young female shot at the boy beside her, ‘where lost.’
The young boy looked up hopelessly at his girlfriend, ‘no, where not,’ he said defensively,’ where in Taiwan.’
‘Ahaha, funny,’ Samantha said before sitting down next to the boy, ‘and where are we in “Taiwan”?’
Matthew sighed, ‘I’m still working on that,’ he mumbled and Samantha groaned before lying down on the grass beside him as a cool breeze picked up, large dark clouds loaming.
‘Well, ya better hurry up,’ she mumbled pointing towards the sky, but she had no need to as a large droplet of water hit the map, and into Matt’s large blue eyes.
‘Great,’ he swore and stood as he turned to his girlfriend, ‘were on the coast, we just need to keep heading… um… that way… north, I think’ he said pointing off the distance and Samantha rolled her eyes. They might as well get more lost.
‘So much for doing some exploring,’ she mumbled and he shot her a quick easy smile as he started off into the distance- Samantha trailing behind him. But they quickly started to run, trying to beat the rain when something bright and colourful caught there eye in the distance. Matthew’s hand shot out to stop Samantha, and he turned her head towards the alien-ish pods.
‘Whoa,’ she whispered and he nodded.
‘Whacko hey,’ he said, grinning up at her and she laughed as they started to make their way towards the pods where they gazed at the futuristic hotel in the rain.
‘Can I help you,’ a voice asked from behind them and they both jumped.
‘Oh sorry,’ Samantha gushed at the worker who was smiling up at them, ‘didn’t hear you.’
‘Naa, it’s ok,’ he said to the couple who smiled, ‘are you guys lost?’ He asked them and they nodded.
‘Kinda,’ Matthew smiled, his blonde hair blowing in the wind and Samantha put her hand around him- besides being wet- and he smiled down at her.
‘Do you have a place we can stay?’ She asked and the man seemed to hesitate.
‘Well… the resort is still under construction,’ he said, ‘but we can give you a room and a bed which the workers use… is that ok?’ He asked and the young couple nodded.
‘Totally,’ they said and the man smiled and led them down through the pods. Then he led them up a concrete stair and into a circular bedroom.
‘Welcome to San Zhi Resort,’ he said grandly and they laughed.
‘Thanks,’ they said and the man walked out through the door, closing it behind him. For a second, Samantha could swear that she could see through him but she dismissed it as ridicules.
She turned to Matthew and walked over to the window, watching over the making of this awesome resort. There seemed only to be a few men working on the place but then again, it was the weekend. Matthew glanced at her, his face serious.
‘San Zhi,’ he whispered and she raised her eyebrows.
‘What about it?’ She asked and the boy shrugged.
‘Seems familiar that’s all,’ he said softly, arms circling around Samantha’s waist and she gazed up at him, smiling. Slowly they turned away from the window and walked over to the bed, tired from all the walking. And as the rain started to poor down, the darkness seeped and claimed the couple as their own. The couple sank into a deeper sleep.
Crack!
Samantha shot up and gasped as the lighting exploded outside, sending shivers down her spine as thunder rolled. She gazed into the distance, the moon her only light, and felt her breathing stop as a sense of unease filled her. Everything was dirty, decaying, as she gazed at the broken down pods and moss filled pool in front of her. It was as if it was abandoned long ago, this still in the making resort. She turned around, gazing at the room before her, heart racing, but it’s state was no better than the rest of the resort with holes in the floor, the glass cracked and broken roof.
What was this? It was all a dream, she thought, but she knew her hoping wasn’t getting her anyway. It was all too realistic. She was cold to the bone, shivering, teeth chattering and she felt as if she was being watched. She looked down at the supposably bed she was laying on, but all she found was the cold floor. She covered her mouth, trying not to scream, and turned to the still asleep Matthew, shaking him awake.
‘What…’ he mumbled, rubbing his eyes and gazed up at his girlfriend dazed but life quickly returned to his eyes when he assessed his girl.
‘Oh my god,’ he gushed, his arms going to pull her to him, but she pushed him away, ‘what is it Sam…’ She went to speak, but she was too cold and her chattering teeth couldn’t form words as she trembled, pale in the moonlight.
‘Sam…’ he asked, worry and concern filling his voice, and she could hear the panic tinting his tone, even if he tried to hide it. She grabbed his head with shaking hands, and made him turn to face the cracked window in front of him.
‘Shit…’ he whispered; then he was up, pulling her with him, ‘what the hell is going on,’ his whispered as the wind howled, covering his words.
He turned to her, ‘are you ok?’ He asked and Samantha nodded and tried to speak, but she could only sob. He swore and quickly pulled her to him, hugging her- trying to warm her. But it didn’t help, him being wet to. They had to get out
‘We’ve gotta go, Now!’ He ordered, shouting over the rain and she nodded and they quickly ran to the door but something stopped them.
He appeared in front of them, a worker, but nothing she had ever seen. He was transparent, and blood was running down his head from where it was cracked open. It was as if he had fallen in the construction or something but what really got to her was how he was hovering before them. A ghost! She squeaked and Matthew pushed himself in front of her, and with one huge thrust, kicked the door through the ghost, smashing the rotted wood to pieces. Then they were running down the concrete stairs as more and more ghosts of workers appeared around them all of them with gory wounds, beckoning for them to jump off the stairs, and down the two flights of stairs. But Matthew just kept running, pulling Samantha along behind him, ignoring the spirits. Then they were out into the open and running along the grass, the ghosts didn’t follow as they exited the resort. But they didn’t stop; they were too freaked out to. They just kept running. Then, when they reckoned they were further enough, they turned around to gaze at the resort.
‘San Zhi,’ Matthew whispered, Samantha in his arms, ‘I remember now.’ He mumbled as they looked at the decaying resort, a ghost town in the night and shivers ran down Samantha’s pine. Matthew pulled her closer. She couldn’t believe she had just been down there, let alone slept in one of the pods. They looked like UFOs.
‘The making of the resort was quickly abandoned in the 80’s when a series of mysterious deaths happened,’ he continued, his voice menacing and quiet, ‘the government quickly covered it up and put construction to the end.’
‘Oh…’ was all Samantha could whisper as her tummy rumbled, Matthew looked down at her quietly and smiled.
‘Well, you wanted an adventure,’ he whispered but Samantha couldn’t bring herself to smile.
‘Was that man really there,’ she asked him and Matthew shrugged.
‘I saw him, you did to, it means something was there,’ he whispered, turning away.
‘Come one,’ he said, ‘we gotta go and find some sane people,’ he said with a small smile and she nodded.
‘Yeah,’ she whispered but just as she turned away from the pods, she could swear she could see faces watching them from the windows. She quickly spun around and jogged over to where Matt was waiting and he put his arm around her. She was safe now…

I agree with Emma. It was good, but there were a few spelling and punctuation mistakes. I liked it, but I think it would get a higher rating if you used proped quotation marks. Don't get me wrong; I liked it. A lot. Just a few suggestions. ;D

Ignore this for the moment. I've changed my mind on what I want to post and I'll have something orange-scented later.
Here's mine! It's kinda short... oh, well.WORDS: 274
“Runners, set.”
I forced my hands against the rubber asphalt beneath me. One leg was bent under me, while the other was stretched out behind. I heard the ragged breath of a small girl to the right of me, but I didn’t turn my head, waiting for the starting shot.
Bang. Smoke flew into the air and we were off. The girl next to me pushed off and passed me easily. I could see her brown ponytail flinging back and forth. I was in last place.
The crowd cheered us on. My feet hit against the rubber with loud smacks. One, two. One two. We rounded the bend in the track. I passed a girl with short, dirty blond hair.
Almost there. The cheers of the crowd hushed in excited anticipation as they waited for the winner. Passing another girl, I looked ahead. Just a few more feet.
There. The bend merged into the straight away. My feet picked up the pace, toes hitting the asphalt. I bent my head, swinging my arms back and forth.
Back and forth. Back and forth.
I passed the girl with the brown ponytail. Only one more in the lead.
Back and forth. Smack. Smack. Back and forth.
I heard the crowd cheer louder.
Back and forth. Smack.
My feet flew over the white line. Slowing my pace, I turned around. My breaths came out hard and fast. Only one other girl had crossed the finish line before me. She was standing there, letting the officials write down her score.
A few second later, the girl with dirty blond hair passed the line, ending the 200 meter dash.
very good. but it makes you wonder. why was she running a race? how old is she? what is her name? who were the other people?
but, i guess that is what cliff hangers are like....

Just ignore me. I'm way too indeciseve for my own good. I'll stop posting here until I find something I'll be happy with.
To the drawing board! Er...writing board?

Sorry, I was practically in school all summer and I lost track of everything. I am so sorry i haven't done anything else for it...you can beat me...lol
I call the contest off though. It is way to late to do anything now in my opinion.
I call the contest off though. It is way to late to do anything now in my opinion.
also, this is just a suggestion, in my opinion its better when theres a prompt or a genre or something like that. when theres so many different kinds of stories, its difficult to chose whos is the best!
really? i don't find it's hard XD
but then i have an awesome imagination with no limits so i'm all good XD
but then i have an awesome imagination with no limits so i'm all good XD
I like prompts too...but when they're like pictures or quotes that are supposed to inspire stuffs. If I have to write something that's whatever I want, it takes me a while to decide what to write.
I find it hard because that's how I roll. My imagination works better if it isn't told what to do and can run wild. It likes to be free....
