I read the book, it's a nice story, I hate to admit that I hate the character savannah. I hate how coward she was when she told john that their relationship was over. After everything he did. I do admire John.
I agree with Oneida, I didn't really like the character Savannah. I liked her as a person, but I think that she was selfish. I loved John, and he didn't deserve what she did to him.
I read the book and I fell in love with it. The story is just awe-some!!! I loved John and I have to admit, I loathe Savannah. She might be a good person or whatever, but she was kinda selfish. I was so overcome by my emotions that I really felt like thrashing the hell out of Savannah for doing what she did to John. I know, stupid. But well, I live in my world of fantasies... ;)I love Channing Tatum too and he played John in the movie and that was the second reason that triggered my hate towards Savannah. I couldn't stand seeing him hurt, imagining him as John. After reading the book, I cried like a baby knowing what John sacrificed for Savannah's happiness. I absolutely loved it!
I love both the book and the movie but it both i absolutely hate Savanna. i hated the fact that just because she had to wait and could only see john for a little while she felt the need to dump him be letter and break his heart and then go off and marry someone else. when reading the book i was heartbroken and sat crying my eyes out when reading the letter that she sent John, i hate her for doing that when i loved John so much. I liked it a little better in the movie just for the fact that they get together and have a HEA but in the book i hated her all the way through.
this book is amazing and will always be one of my favourites because it was the first NS book i read and it made me fall in love with his books so for that reason i'm sure it will always stay with me.
This was probably one of my least favorite books by NS. I hated that they loved each other but didn't end up together. I think it was a huge mistake on both of their parts. I didn't really see her grow at all as a character, where I think John grew a ton. She is probably my least favorite heroine.
I read the book, and i absolutely love it. I like how NS describe the characters, he made me feel like they are real and they are humans that make mistakes. I like literally everything, even the ending [although not everyone loved it.] I was so disappointed with the movies on the other hand, i just didn't like it. There was something about it that is unbelievable.*I recommend reading the book first before watching the movie :)
Lady Vale wrote: "But what did all of you thought about Savannah specifically?"I didn't think she was selfish or anything. If she was she would not stand by Tim, but she did she dedicate herself to him and Tim's brother. She was very pleasing, kind and self less.
Anyone else??
I totally hated her. she left John when he was at war. she couldn't even wait to tell him face to face. he was so completely in love with her and she just left him because she couldn't see him all the time. i totally hated her!!!!
I still hate her i cnt help it coz i love John so much and felt really sorry for him and i cried when he got the letter.
I was mad at savannah for not waiting for john.. i mean.. come on, the guy is gorgeous.. who wouldnt wait for him? I would. hahahaahahhahahhah. But I can also understand why she didn't because tim was sick and no one was there for alan while tim was in the hospital all those months.. and if nobody was there for alan.. who would've been??
i think she still would've been there for alan i mean tim was one of her closest friends she didn't have to marry him to b there for him and alan.
In my opinion, Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum were good choices for the movie adaptation.
I always hoped that Savannah and John would get back together!
