Thanks, Trish! What a great list to start! =PFireproof, the movie, was very good!! I haven't checked out the book yet, but I will have to do so. And, of course, The Blind Side movie was wonderful also! Bella & Revolutionary Road (I didn't realize they are faith based movies/books!)are both on my Netflix list, so maybe I will have to bump them!!
And, I SO want to read the left behind series, I just have way too many books on my list!! UGH!! =) Hmm, maybe I will have to start them next! Great ideas! Thanks for sharing!

I purchased The Last Sin Eater not having read the book. My two boys (young men) have teased me ever since we watched it. They go around the house singing "chicken bone" chicken bone." I still think it had a good message even though like you commented, it was somewhat cheesy... I would recommend Fireproof also. When it
first started out, I thought to myself, oh great, another low budget Christian film but as the movie progressed some areas brought tears to my eyes. Good movie, I haven't read the book.
The same people that made Fireproof (which I loved) made another movie called Flywheel. It was also wonderful. I don't know if it was based on a book or not. I thought the list already given was terrific! I was a fan of most of those movies. It's nice how there has been a move toward some wholesome themes lately. One that makes you think and has more violence but still a good message is the Book of Eli. I didn't read the book, but I found the movie to be worthy of watching and discussion.
Flywheel looks really good, I can't wait to see/read it! I also really want to check out Book of Eli. Even my husband would like to see it, so hopefully it will be worthy! Thanks for all the great suggestions! Keep em coming! I know there are a lot out there, it's just a matter of finding them.
I'm not sure if they're based on books or not (so they're probably not!) - but it's kinda related to the topic:The makers of Fireproof and Flywheel also made Facing the Giants and are due to release a new film in 2011 called Courageous (about law inforcement officers who are also fathers)-- it has potential!

Anyway, I guess I'm just curious if any of you have suggestions for good (Christian) movies that have been based on books, whether fiction or non-fiction.
I recently finished reading The Last Sin Eater by Francine Rivers. I felt the book was definitely worth the read (plus, it was a "right-time" kind of thing....I really needed a little faith-filled lightness in my life). =)
Now, I just finished watching the movie, The Last Sin Eater, from FoxFaith. The movie was a little cheesy, though it followed the book very well.
Any more suggestions???
THANKS!
