The Evernight Series Fans discussion

Now, I know that many of you who are Evernight fans are vampire fiction fans in general, and anyone can see that in Twilight there is a clear winner in the love game between Edward and Jacob. Edward reigns supreme. I don't care what anyone says :). However, in Evernight I kinda like Balthazar equal to Lucas, and I was wondering if anyone else felt this way.

Yeah I do like Balthazar better though. I feel he has more class and look what Lucas has gotten her into. I just feel like between Lucas and the main character there's a distinct class difference. Like he is the car mechanic and she is the porche owner. (sorry for those who are mechanics couldn't think of another metaphore)

Yeah, I agree with what you are saying. Although I do not think it is as much about class, as it is about species. Inevitably Lucas will have to become a vampire if he wants to stay with Bianca, whereas Bianca already is. Also, Bianca's parents and Balt both say that Balthazar is better for her, and I do think they are just stating the facts. I like Lucas, but it is not the same feeling that I have for Edward in Twilight, you know? The feeling that she must be with him or she will cease to be? No, I think Bianca could be perfectly content with Balthazar, but if love is what she wants, she may be better of with Lucas. In other words, I relate Balthazar more to Edward, maybe because he too is a vampire, and Lucas more to Jacob. And I much prefer Edward.

I don't know why but instantly I didn't like Lucas. Something about him turned me off. (not a sexual sense) Yeah I do think she could be fine with Balthazar. That night at the ball she was having so much fun until Lucas came along.

Yeah I like how you connected those two. I personally do like Edward over Jacob but I like Jasper over Edward. Sorry side note.

I feel that something that Lucas does in the future will finally show Bianca his true personality and she will leave him. Well at least that's what I hope.

Yeah, I am assuming that the other novels will be set at Evernight School, and there are at least 3 more novels. Surely, if they are all set in the school, Bianca will not be able to obtain a relationship with Lucas while hiding it from everyone. Out of sight, out of mind--go Balthazar!

Yeah I wonder though. What is Bianca going to do. Lucas is away and she's just hanging out. That's gotta suck.

a vampire. duh i saw that coming a mile a way but hey it's weird that she was born though. but i agree with you Balthazar was way cooler and way handsomer! I can't wait for Stargazer though. Yay!

Hey guys I just started this series, and I really like it alot. I am a little bit past half way with Evernight. My friend said that I should read it and I am so glad she reccomended it to me.

I like Lucas and Balthazar but I like Lucas a little bit more than Balthazar. but it might change when I am done with the book.

to me balthazar is nicer than lucas were supposed do be all 'lucas is the underdong' but really he brings everything on himself and lie so much that i hate him balthazar is a good guy and i could see myself with someone similar

I finished the book on Saturday, and i love it to death. its one of my favorite books ever!
Does anyone know when the second book comes out?

the book comes out in march. I don't think Lucas and Bianca will ever be happy together; I don't mean to be a debbie downer but they are too different. He can't really accept what she is, her family hates him, and she can't NOT be a vampire. She will have to kill someone someday in order to become what she is and I can see Lucas not being able to get over her killing someone even if it is some old person that wants to die in a nursing home. I think that she is foreshadowed to be with Balthazar, they keep on saying that he will understand and would be a better match. I know people compare all vamp ya books now adays to twilight and thats part of the reason i dont think that she will bew/lucas. I mean, in reality you probably shouldnt change for anyone but it seems like in vamp books people do a 180. bella turning into a vamp, same w/zoey, etc... unfortunately theres just too much baggage with lucas. i would like for it to work out, but i dont see it happening he cant have bianca and his mom. someone has to go

wow great way to put it Lynn, yeah i agree Lucas is adorable but so young in every way. I think she will be better off with a balthazar

Yeah right... are you stupid... I think all vampire books suck... especially The Twilight books. I only did this because I only liked the vamp. slayers. I hope Lucas should kill Bianca and then kill bella and Edward... Have I told you I hate you?

I think that Lucas is very arrogant and cocky as where Balthazar is such the gentelman. Lucas has faults and isnt perfect but he loves Bianca. Balthazar is perfect but he dosent love Biance hes in love with the idea that Biance can replace the girl he once loved when he was human. So yeah Lucas all the way!

agreed Im all for Lucas! I think Balthazr is a safe guard for Bianca thats why she keeps him close and yes he just likes the idea of Bianca because her splitting image of his former gf jane, I love the fact that Lucas is arrogant and cocky he reminds me of Jace lol and I like it that its almost impossible for them to be together because of both family ties and current situations where Lucas is a hunter and shes the 'vampire' I love this series and I have a feeling that Bianca would somehow resent Lucas because he refuses to become a vampire as he refers to them as being disgusting lol it will be interesting knowing how hour glass is going to play out cant wait!!

Hi there I'm new to this group and this whole page...

I just finished Stargazer yesterday, and read the first chapter on Hourglasse, and i totally love it!

Its just a bit like Romeo and Juliette:
as in he meets her doesnt now she belongs to the enemy, they fall in love, get separated... try to find a way to be together in secracy, and you know the end - they both die...
I don't know thou will that happen in this book...

What do yous think? Any chance of a second romeo and juliette ending here? Or something better?

well i think that that she's going to go out hunting with them now that she's on the wrong side and kill somoene on accident which then turns her into a vampire... and then she'll turn him.

i heard that somewhere on a site....not sure if it was true but i mean it sounds kinda realistic cuz i mean evernight burned down and well i'm sure balthzar's still tryyin to gett to his sis...but anywho......omg the first chapter was really good cuz i mean i'm kinda feelin sry for bianca and lucas cuz i mean they hardly together =(

I went to a book store around Christmas, and asked for any cool vampire books, most of what they had, i have read already... apart from Evernight, so I bought it and first I thought it was kind of not, boring but it didn't catch me either, until the part where SHE bit him, I thought i didn't read right...
and thats where i got hooked :)
