Babysitting my 14 month old granddaughter. No nap in my future UNLESS I can get Princess Karoline to take one!!!
UniquelyMoi *~*Dhestiny*~* wrote: "My grandson is coming over tonight. He turned 5 yesterday :)"5 yr. old boys...*sigh* so sweet!!!! I remember when my son was 5, he was just precious!!! Every year before that too, now he's 8 and well...he's not as much of a mama's boy anymore. Although he gladly gives it up when no one is looking!!!!! LOL
I have a four-year old grandson and he's the bestest. He has his Nannie wrapped around his little finger. Both kids are the sunshine in my life.
my 4 year old and I made Homemade Harvest muffins today :) You know you are jealous of my (new found) baking skillz...
Erika - those look yummy and just right for the fall season. I'm thinking I'm going to make some apple pumpkin spice cupcakes with a cream cheese icing for Saturday's football game.
I'm head hurting today. I think I shouldn't have had that second iced coffee...and it's raining. which we need, but it makes everything wet.. LOL
I had a HORRIBLE time at the market today. HORRIBLE!
****WARNING: MAJOR RANT CROSSING****
1. There were these two older women with their carts, walking together, side by side up and down the aisles. Meandering is a better word for it. Taking their time, talking about things they weren't even buying... blocking the aisles. THEN, when they came down an aisle I was in (in my wheelchair) and I was picking out some frozen things, they gave ME a dirty look for blocking THEM. **gasp** They had to go by single file!!!!!!! BITCHES!!!!!
2. THEN, We go to the register and there's this lady with a brand new baby and her 3 year old monster. The monster was taking things off the shelves and dropping them on the floor and she kept saying "Benjamin!! Stop! OMG, Benjamin!!!" Then she'd turn to the cashier and say "I'll clean it all up, I'll get it all..." But she never did. WE HAD TO PICK UP THE CRAP so we could get our cart in the checkout lane. THEN, and I MEAN NO DISRESPECT to people who get WIC or foodstamps, but she had paid for her non-WIC groceries, then had a bunch of WIC things, then when she was done she bought $40 worth of lottery tickets after going on and on about how broke they are and without WIC for the kids they'd never survive. HELLO??? Her husband had been laid off after working for the same company for 3 years and they were broke. Ok, I get that, and my heart goes out to them, seriously... but LOTTERY TICKETS??? And, she was talking about the vacation they were planning since her husband was out of work anyway.... God help me, I wanted to scream at her.
Then when we finally get up there, the cashier was so excited to see me (my kids usually go because I HATE being in the wheelchair and getting in the way) anyway, she was all excited to see that I came with them today and she was like "Oh, how are you!? I'm so glad to see you!!!" And I was just like... really? It made me feel better, but I was still pissed.
Seriously. I'm a mess, all because I felt good enough to go to the market.

Sry Dhes. Those old heifer bitches!erm I seem to be channeling my inner Shelly Laurenston :P
and if my monsters had made a mess I for sure would have cleaned it up. I hate rude people :X
and that's a big issue with me too... about the WIC/Gov assistance and then they vacation, have new cars, buy booze and cigarettes and gamble, but then bitch they have no money grrrr.
Now see what you've been missing?:)Oh man, $40 worth of lottery tickets? I would've been ashamed to buy those after telling that story...and a vacation? How are they going to pay for that?
And don't let yourself feel like you're getting in the way of others! You have every right to be in a store--you probably are less 'in the way' than those inconsiderate shoppers who walk two abreast and the ones who abandon their carts to go look for an item in another aisle!
Erika! LOL I love that, heifer bitches. That reminded me of Simi from the Dark Hunter books. She calls Artemis the Heifer Goddess. LOL
I understand needing financial help, but maybe she should be saving that $$ for an emergency or something.
Auntee, yeah, I've really been missing out! LOL It ended up being 4 separate transactions because she wanted to pay for her non-WIC items first. Then they rang up the WIC items and she didn't want to do something, I didn't quite get it, but once they were rung up, she then had to dig out her bank card again to make up the difference. I count that as 2, so now we're up to 3. Then, she wanted the lottery tickets rang up separate too. Why not just do it all in one transaction??? She was the only person ahead of us, and all her stuff was on the belt already and we still waited almost 15 minutes for her to get done.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Wow, D. Sorry about all that. Hugs. Manners are a dying art in our society. I am often blown away by how rude people are, and flabbergasted when someone shows manners. I think it's the sense of entitlement people seem to feel.
Thanks, Danielle. I think you're right... it's all about entitlement. Everyone expects people to be polite and accommodating to them, but won't extend the same courtesy to others.
Yep. I almost never go into stores anymore, and this is why. I shouldn't let rude people keep me home, but it's just not worth the frustration to me. I specifically went today because Thursdays are much less crowded. Oh well.
On the bright side, we had delicious hamburgers for dinner! Blue cheese crumbles, sesame buns. Yummy stuff :)

I'm baking again. Made Banana Chip and flax muffins and cooking now are Apple Ginger Oat muffins :)
It so cold here makes me want to bake
Today is our first day under 80 in a long, long time. We broke out the bread machine to see if it still works and we're baking brownies!
I'm going to start a recipe folder, Erika. I'd LOVE it if you'd post your Banana Chip muffin recipe.
it's 40 here :(sure but I warn you, i'm not one to follow recipes or make something the same way twice...lol
the banana chip ones came out really good... the ginger/apple? not so much...lol
I love the idea for a recipe folder!! Always looking for new recipes and fall is a perfect time to have fun in the kitchen.
The recipe folder sounds like a wonderful idea! Looking forward to sharing and collecting some ones.
YES!! Please post the asparagus pasta one!! I love asparagus and always enjoy a different way to include it in a meal.
I'm glad to hear that. If you can think of any of the other ones I've posted and think they'd fit in here, too, just holler!
Anne, I hope you love the asparagus recipes. I eat it cold (cooked) with feta cheese and a tiny bit of balsamic vinaigrette. TINY bit. LOL
Thanks so much! I'm making my grocery list for early tomorrow morning's run to the store. Guess what's for dinner tomorrow evening????
Pamela Clare's son, Benjamin, made this video for breast cancer awareness. Please check it out and vote for it so he'll have a chance at winning $10,000 for college.

Wow, thanks for putting that link up, Dhes. I really appreciate it.The boys tried to spoof the Old Spice commercial for this video as much as they could. I'm hoping it does well. Benjamin is a film major and is down to his last three semesters.
Snow on the high peaks here — finally! Summer seems to have trickled well into fall. And down here against the foothills, we got rain. That means I don't have to water my darn lawn or garden. A big relief! (More time to write...)
Can't wait till the weekend. I'm down to my last five chapters on BREAKING POINT.
Speaking of menopause, I had hot flashes all weekend. Slept with the bedroom windows opened, a fan blowing on me, and no blankets. BUT, my hands were cold so I wore gloves. **rolls eyes**
It really sucks, Pamela. I thought I was going crazy because I'd have days where only my breasts and abdomen would sweat. The nurse practitioner told me that that is very normal. She had a patient whose face would sweat profusely, and the rest of her would be cold.
I'm getting ready for a throwdown with Aunt Flo. She has become very unexpected and random for about the last year and a half. Like she's teasing me. ARG!
I didn't have to deal with that aspect of "the change," because I had an partial hysterectomy about 16 years ago. No periods! WOOOOOT!!!! LOL
