And They Were Gone discussion

This is where I want to post the actual story. Please don't post any comments in order to allow the story to be continous. ((I made another discussion to add comments.))

Remember that this will not make any sense to you if you haven't read the books named in the description. We are going to put it on in different posts, and Danny said I could start it since I am the co-author. Alrighty, here it is:

And They Were Gone

((The Kingdom Keepers))
"Watch out! Bookstores are not safe!" -W.
"What in the world is that suposed to mean? Why can't he just use English?" Maybeck complained.
Willa rolled her eyes. "It could be intercepted! When they made your DHI, did they forget the brain?"
Maybeck glared at her and stepped forward, but before he could reply, Finn stepped in and said, "Anyway, I think we should check out the bookstores."
Everyone stared at him and Charlene said, "Um, Finn, did you read the note?"
"Yeah, but if the Overtakers have infiltrated the bookstores we need to do something about it. Maybeck, you go to Books'n'more, girls, you go to Makelbees, and Philby and I will go to Barnes and Noble.We'll meet at ten, when the bookstores open."
He woke up and looked at his clock. It was around seven, so he went down to breakfast.
His mother was sitting at the table, and he asked, "Mom, mind if I go to the bookstore?"
"Okay, as long as you pick up something for me. Here's some money."

Finn met Philby at the bookstore, and they went inside together.
"So, what are we looking for?"
"Something out of place."
They started walking down the aisles of books, when a cool science book caught Philby's eye. He started to examine it when he heard a small popping noise. He turned around, and Finn was gone.

((The Red Pyramid))
"Sadie! Turn that music down!" Carter yelled
Sadie stomped over to the connecting door between their rooms and said "Why should I?"
"Because the floor is vibrating, and that's going to freak Khafu out!"
"Yeah right, Carter, like you really care whether Khafu is freaked out. You're probably already disturbing him with your bad basketball vibes!"
Cater wheeled around to reply, but there was a popping sound and Sadie was gone.

((Percy Jackson and the Olympians))
Clang, Clang! Annabeth expertly parried Percy's thrust.
"You're getting better, Wise girl!"
"I was always better than you, Seaweed Brain!"
"Right."Percy ducked as Annnabeth swung for his head.
Annabeth stepped back, panting."Let's take a break."
Percy agreed, and they walked over to the water cooler. Percy took his cup, filled it up, then dumped it over his head.
Annabeth sighed."That's so not fair." She turned around in mock anger. There was a faint popping noise, and Percy was gone.

((The Magic Thief))
Conn sat at the kitchen table, spread butter on his biscuit, and packed it with bacon. Nevery watched exasparatedly as he stuffed it into his mouth.
"You need to learn some manners, boy." He insisted.
Conn grinned as he grabbed another biscuit and gave it the same treatment.
Nevery sighed and looked back down at his book. There was a faint popping noise, and when he looked up, the boy was gone.

((How to Train Your Dragon))
Toothless gave a satisfied grumble as Hiccup scratched his belly.
"You spoil him, you know." Astrid commented as she cleaned her axe.
"If I didn't, I'd regret it later,"Hiccup replied,"He's really good at getting revenge."
Astrid rolled her eyes. "I know." She turned back to her axe, heard a faint popping noise. She turned around and Hiccup was gone.

((Septimus Heap))
Septimus snorted as the FizzFroot bubbled up his nose. Beetle guggled as Jenna rolled her ueues and said, "That is soo gross, Sep!"
Beetle immediately stopped giggling and tried to keep a straight face. Then he took his own swig of FizzFroot and snorted even louder than Septimus had.
Jenna huffed and looked at the ceiling. Beetle mirrored her action, wondering what she was looking at. Then they both heard a pop and Septimus was gone.

((Kingdom Keepers))
It was an empty room, a storeroom at the back of the bookstore. Then Finn appeared, quickly followed by Sadie, Percy, Conn, Hiccup, and Septimus.
There was a moment of silence, and then Sadie said, "This is weird."
Everybody started talking at once, except for Conn, who was busy eating his buiscut and hadn't really noticed that he was not still at the breakfast table.
"QUIET!!!" Finn yelled, and everyone fell silent, staring at him."
"Who are you?" Percy asked, "and where are we?"
"I'm Finn Whitman. Who are all of you?"
They all introduced themselves except Conn, who had just realized something was wrong, so he said, "Huh?"
"What is your name?"asked Percy.
"Um, Conn."
"Well, that is all very nice," Sadie interupted," but what am I doing here? One moment I was in my room, yelling at my brother, the next I'm in a room with a bunch of weirdos."
"Who are you calling a weirdo?" asked Hiccup, who actually was looking kind of strange in his viking clothes.
"Well, you, obviously."
Finn cleared his throat. "Anyway, my best guess is that the Overtakers have brought us all here for some reason." Eying Septimus' apprentice robes, he added, "Judging by your...interesting clothes, you are all from books."
Everyone stared at him, and then Percy said, "I am definitely not from a book."
Then a door in the back of the room banged open and a guy carrying a stack of books in his arms came in. When he saw the group, he smiled and said, "You've come! I was waiting for you. Perhapes you would like to know what is going on?"
He put down his pile of books and everyone stared at him. "I'll take that as a yes. First of all, my name is Bob."

Percy snorted, and Bob glanced at him, and cleared his throat.
"Anyway,I brought you here because your worlds are all in danger.If you don't do something,they will all be destroyed."
There was a silence,and Septimus said,"so what do we need to do?"
Bob smiled."You have to go into each other's worlds and retrieve certain objects.The trick is, you cannot return to your own world until all the objects are retrieved."

"Then how are we going to get it?" Sadie asked.
"Everyone else will go to your world and get it.You will be able to communicate with them by using your book,or movie,in Hiccup's case."Then he disappeared leaving the books behind.
Percy walked over to the books and picked one up.
"The Magic Thief :stolen?who's book is that?"
Conn spoke up." It's probably mine." Percy looked at the cover and then up at Conn.
"Are you the guy stealing something form the dude with the black cloak?"

"Yep" Conn smiled. "I have quick fingers" Everyone inched away from him.
"See, I already stole this weird arrow from Septimus."
He read the words on the arrow, "Fly free with me." He started to float off the ground, until Septimus snatched the Flyte charm from him and said, "So, you are a thief."
"Well, not anymore. Now I'm a wizard."
Percy said "You mean like with waving wands and magic words and stuff?"
"Not really" Septimus said "It's a lot more complicated than that."
Finn interrupted. "Anyway, we should get back to the matter at hand."

Then Percy picked up another book.
"The Lightning Thief? But I never stole that stupid lightning bolt!"
Sadie said, "This is getting repetitive. Am I only one who is not a kleptomaniac in here?"
Percy protested,"I am not a kleptomaniac.I was framed!"
"Riiight." Sadie said.
Finn walked over and grabbed another book.
"The Red Pyramid,sound familiar to anyone?"
Sadie scowled,"that's mine." She walked over and grabbed it, examining the cover.
"Do I really look like that from the back?"
Hiccup picked up the only movie in the pile.
"How To Train Your Dragon.Hey, it's Toothless!"
Everyone stared at him.
"What? He's my dragon.""You named your dragon Toothless?"Septimus asked,"is he actually toothless?"
"well,no his teeth are retractable."
Percy looked at the movie."Why aren't you animated?"
Hiccup looked down at himself,then at the picture on the cover
"Hmmm.No idea."
Finn made a grab for the next book, but Percy got it first.

"Magyk. It's spelled wrong."
Septimus peeked over his shoulder."No, it's not. It's always spelled that way."
"Dude, I'm a bad speller but I know magic is spelled M-A-G-I-C."
They were about to start arquing but Finn said,"okay, moving on. Here's my book, The Kingdom Keepers."
Sadie said"keepers of what kingdom?"
"Disney World. It's kind of a long story."

Percy said,"cool! Do you get to ride the rides all the time or something?"
"I sort of am an attraction at Disney World. The only time I get to enjoy it is after dark, when the park is closed. Then the rides have a nasty habit of coming alive and trying to kill me."
"Cool!" said Conn."What's Disney World?"
Sadie rolled her eyes. "Does it matter?"
"I guess not." Said Percy. "Right now,we should try and stop our world from being destroyed."
Finn said "okay,whose world is first?"

Bob appeared out of nowhere. "Sorry, I forgot to mention that you have to go back to the worlds in opposite order of how you appeared. Just a hint, you might want to give the others a quick summary of your world before they go. And you might want to let them know who they can trust." And he dissapeared again.
Finn frowned "Let's see, I was first, then... Sadie, I think."
Sadie went on "Then Percy, Kleptomaniac Dude, Animated Dude, and The Dude With The Green Dress."
Septimus protested. "It's not a dress. This is the tunic of the Extraordinary Apprentice!"
Sadie snorted. "Nice name"
Finn interrupted. "So, Septimus, I guess your world is first. What can you tell us about it?"

"well, when I left I was with.......etc.
Setptimus explained that they needed Jenna and Bettle to help them find Jim Knee, and he would help them get whatever they needed.
"But how do we know what to get?"Sadie asked.
Septimus started to flip through the pages and then a piece of paper fluttered to the ground Septimus picked up the paper and read: "The most powerful genie is what you seek. Properly contained of course. Portal is on page 77. It will also provide a way to communicate.
Bob

There was a moment of silence, then Percy said,"Well, we'd better get going."
Septimus turned to page 77 and gasped.
Sadie grabbed the book and said and said," Who's the bloke staring at the ceiling?"
She showed the others the page, which showed Jenna staring openmouthed at the spot where Septimus had been sitting, and Beetle still staring at the ceiling.
"That would be Beetle, and the girl is Jenna" Septimus replied.
"Well then, how do we get over there?" Sadie asked, touching the picture slightly.
Suddenly, Sadie jerked forward.
"It's pulling me in!" She started to quickly dissapear, first her hand, then her arm,followed by her head and the rest of her body. Her combat boots were the last to go. The book clunked to the ground and everyone stared at it. A surprised Sadie had appeared in the picture, also frozen. Conn said brightly,"I'll go next!" He jumped in feet first, and his image joined Sadie's, looking like a cat that had just cought a fish, Everyone elso stared at each other. Septimus touched the picture, but nothing happened.
Septimus looked up.
"Who's next?" Percy went next, followed by Finn and Hiccup.

((Septimus Heap))
Jenna gasped. Septimus had disappeared, and now the room was filled with strange, somewhat odd-looking people.
"Who are you?" she asked.
Hiccup was holding a copy of Magyk, so he opened it to page 77 and said,"Maybe Septimus should explain."
Sure enough, Septimus was looking back at them curiously. "This is weird. Hi Jenna, hi Beetle."
Beetle had jumped up, looking confused and ready for a fight if needed.
"Who are people, Sep, and what are they doing here, and why is your head in a book?"
Septimus tried to explain the situation, but in the end, Jenna and Beetle looked even more counfused.
"So we're supposed to find the most powerful genie. Properly contained. What is that supposed to mean?"
"I'm pretty sure that just means he hasnt been released yet." Sptimus replied. "I think Jim Knee would be your best source of infromation. Last I saw him he was a bird, annoying Spit Fyre."
"Who's Spit Fyre?" asked Finn.
"My dragon." Septimus replied.
"Cool!" Hiccup cried,"I can probably handle him if we need to."
Beetle snorted, "Yeah right. How did you become such an expert on dragons anyway?"
Hiccup smiled. "Let's just say I have a lot of experience with them."
"Anyway,"Finn interupted,"Lets go find that genie."
Jenna stood up.
"I'll take you to the dragon kennel. Hopefully Jim Knee hasn't gotten bored and left yet."
"I'll come too," Beetle piped up. He still looked slightly suspicious of all the newcomers, especially Sadie. He had never seen a girl with stripy hair before.
Jenna led them to the dragon kennel. Luckily, Jim Knee was still there in bird form, sitting on spit Fyre's head. Spit Fyre did not look happy. He kept wagging his head, trying to knock the bird off his head.
"Jim Knee." Jenna called,"We need some help here."
The bird fluttered down from its perch and landed on the ground, turning into his regular form in midair.
"What do you want to do? Not any turtle business again, I hope."
"Turtle?" Finn asked.
"I'd rather not talk about that. What do you need me to do?"
"Who is the most powerfull genie?" Jenna asked.
"What, I'm not good enough for you?" Jim Knee asked huffily.
"No. I'm not even going to release him. I just need him for something."
"Well, if you must know, the most powerful Genie is now stored in the Pyramid library, where you can't get it without the help of the Extraordinary Wizard."
Beetle groaned, "that's not going to be easy."
Sadie asked,"But I thought Septimus was her apprentice?"
Jenna explained, "Yes, but Marcia is rather... stubborn."
Beetle snorted, "That's an understatement. You'll see what I mean."
Jenna said,"Anyway, we should probably let Sep know what's going on. He might know how we can convince Marcia to give us the genie."
Hiccup opened the book.
"What's going on?" Septimus asked. When Jenna explained to him, he looked serious. "I don't know, Jen. It sounds like a pretty important thing for it to be guarded by the Extraordinary Wizard. Maybe this isn't such a good idea."
Sadie interrupted. "Hey! I think we all have a say in this too. If we don't get this genie, none of us will be able to get back where we belong. Plus all our worlds will be destroyed. One little genie can't make all that much difference, right?"
"Yeah, but Marcia might not see it that way." said Septimus.
"Well, it's worth a try." said Jenna.
"Let's do it!" said Percy. He raised his hand for a high five, which Conn returned enthusiastically.

When they got to the Wizard Tower everyone was amazed by its awesomeness.
"Cool." Conn said.
"Yeah." said Hiccup. "I've never seen a building half that tall before."
"Nah,"said Sadie, "Most pyramids are bigger than that."
"You should see the Empire State Building." said Percy." It has 600floors, most invisible, though."
"What!?" said Finn.
"Ahem."said Jenna. Everyone got back to the task at hand.They walked up to the huge doors and Jenna said the password.
When they walked in ,Marcia bumped into Beetle on her way out.
"Oh, hello Beetle,"she said. Then she noticed everyone else.
"Who are all these people?"she asked, her eyebrows raised.
"We've been asked that several times today."Hiccup remarked, then he opened the book.

"Hello Marcia," said Septimus.
"Septimus! How in the world did you get in that book?" Marcia exclaimed.
"It's a bit of a long story." he admitted.
"Let's go to my rooms,"said Marcia. "Then you can tell me everything."

Septimus explained their predicament as best he could, and Marcia didn't look too befuddled, just slightly perturbed.
"Well, I don't know about any genie in the library, but there might be something in a book on the sealed shelf. Let's go look."

They headed to the Pyramid Library and Marcia looked through the books. Being careful to hide the contents, she skimmed through until she found something and said,"Here's something!"
Then she read the page and her eyebrows furrowed,"Oh. That might be a little difficult."
"Please tell me it's not a prophecy." Percy pleaded.
Everyone stared at him and Marcia said,"No, it's not a prophecy, it's just that the genie is in a bottle stored in a compartment on the outside of the Pyramid Library. And it can only be opened by Dragon Fyre.
Beetle groaned,"That should be... interesting."
But what about that dragon we met earlier?" Finn asked.
"Exactly." said Marcia.
"That dragon is the problem. He is extremely stubborn."
Conn looked puzzled."But that's what they said about you, Marcia. And you seem pretty nice to me."

Marcia looked amazed. "Thank you, ummm.. whatever your name is."
"It's Connwaer."
Everyone else was struggling not to laugh.
Marcia cleared her throat. "So, Jenna. You are Spit Fyre's Navigator. Do you think you could get him to open the compartment with Fyre?"
Jenna looked doubtful, "Um, I guess I could try. But Spit Fyre's looking especially uncooperative this morning."
"Jim Knee was teasing him." added Beetle.
"Hrrm." said Marcia.
"I might be able to help," said Hiccup,"I have a lot of experience with dragons."
"As you keep reminding us," said Beetle, "Anyway, only Sep can control Spit Fyre, and that only on good days."
Marcia snorted. "I wouldn't say the word 'control' exactly."

Hiccup shrugged. "Well I would like to try. It'll be interesting to see how your world's dragons are different from mine, anyway."
"All right,I suppose you can give it a shot."said Marcia,still looking doubtful.

They headed back tho the Palace and Spit Fyre's kennel. Spit Fyre was snoozing in the sun snoring loudly. Marcia stomped over to his nose and said loudly, "Wake up, Spit Fyre! We need you!"
Spit Fyre opened one eye to glare at her and then snorted, covering Marcia in steam.
Marcia coughed, "Well, Hiccup, let's what you can do." Hiccup stepped forward and put his hand on Spit Fyre's nowe.
"Hello, there. You're a big dragon, aren't you?" Spit Fyre opened his eyes and stared at him, and Hiccup stared back.
After a few moments of constant staring, Spit Fyre grunted and got slowly to his feet.
Hiccup glanced over his shoulder and grinned. Then Spit Fyre started nuzzling him and he almost fell over.

Marcia, Jenna, and Beetle stared at him with both their eys and their mouth wide open.
Hiccup backed up out of the kennel, his hand still on Spit Fyre's nose. Spit Fyre followed obediently.
"All right, who's going up with me?"
"I will." Percy and Finn said at the same time.
Marcia recovered herself enough to say,"Jenna should probably go, as she's Spit Fyre's Navigator."
Jenna stopped staring open-mouthed and said,"Yeah, I probably should."
Hiccup shrugged. "Okay, does anyone have a saddle or anything?"
Jenna shook her head,"You can sit behind that ridge right there."
Hiccup examined it,"Interesting. It's like a natural saddle. If only Toothless had something like that, It would have saved me a lot of work."
He mounted up first, then Jenna got on behind him. She found it very bizarre to be riding behind someone she barely knew instead of Septimus. Hiccup leaned forward ever so slightly and Spit Fyre took off. Suprised by the speed, Jenna grabbed Hiccup around the waist. Back on the ground, Beetle glowered, while everyone else cheered.
Spit Fyre speedily flew up to the point of the Wizard Tower, circling it until Jenna cried out,"I see something." They hovered close to the spot she had pointed out and Jenna examined the small dragon marking."I think this is it."
With a small urging from Hiccup, Spit Fyre shot a small tongue of flame at the marking.

Suddenly, a small hole appeared under the dragon marking, which Jenna reached into, after realizing what she was doing, and hastily letting go of Hiccup.
She retrieved a small green bottle, and with a whoop, Spit Fyre dropped to the ground.
Everyone cheered, and Percy clapped Hiccup on the back and said,"That was awesome, dude!"
Conn, looking puzzled, said,"Dude?" What does that mean?"
Sadie rolled her eyes."Something similair to bloke."
"Bloke?"
"Well let's just say it means male person that is cool."
"Why is Hiccup cold?"
Sadie open her mouth to reply but Finn stepped in and said,"Anyway, we should be going, now. It was nice meeting you all."
Hiccup took out the book and flipped it to page 77.
"Did you get it?" Septimus asked anxiously.
"Yep." said Hiccup."I guess we can leave now."
He set the book on the ground and jumped in. Beetle, Jenna, and Marcia watched in amazement as they all disappeared one by one. When the last one left, the book disappeared.

When they opened their eyes again, they were all back in same room.
"What happened?" Said Septimus. Percy explained to him,glossing over Spit Fyre's treatment of Hiccup.
"So where is it?" asked Septimus.Hiccup pulled the small green bottle out of his pocket.
"Here it is." He handed it to Septimus, who examined it.
"Yup. There's a genie inside all right."
"Great." Said Bobs voice.He had walked in, pushing a TV on a cart.
"What is that?"Conn cried."Some sort of magical device?"
"It's a TV, thief." Said Sadie."It shows moving pictures."
"So I'm guessing we have to find a certain point in the movie to get in?" Said Finn.
"yes." Said Bob."It's all in the instructions." Then he disappeared.

Sadie walked over and picked up the case for How To Train Your Dragon.She opened the case and caught the paper that fluttered out:"Use the big arrow button to flip through scenes to explain your world. Eventually, you will come to a scene that will change into a portal.You must retrieve the egg of a Seadragonus Maximus.

P.S. Remember to mention Astrid's axe and Toothless' teeth."

"Astrid's axe and Toothless' teeth?" Percy asked. "What are they, monsters?"
"Not exactly. Astrid is my girlfriend, and Toothless is my pet dragon, Both can act like monsters occasionally though."
Percy laughed. "I know what you mean,dude. Well, about girlfriends anyway. I've never met a dragon, except for that one in Septimus's world."

Sadie rolled her eyes."Enough with the girl pushing,let's allow mr. Dragon Tamer to show us his world."
"All right." Hiccup said, picking up the remote.
"So, I press this button to make the big black box show pictures?
Finn nodded. "Welcome to the twenty-first century."Hiccup pressed the button."How to Train Your Dragon" was shown in large letters. Scenes flicked across the screen, accompanied by Hiccups commentary.
" That's Astrid, my girlfriend. That's Toothless. That's my dad in a really bad mood.(which is most of the time.) That's Astrid kis... um.. I think you can figure that out. That's Astrid dropping an axe on me."
"Wouldn't that hurt?" Conn asked. Hiccup shifted uncomfortably.
" Well ... yeah. That was before she was my girlfriend though. She was usually like that."
"Great." Percy muttered as Hiccup cleared his throat."Well anyway, there's Berk, the island where us vikings live."
"Vikings!?" Sadie squeaked."Really? I didn't know vikings had dragons. Do you really wear those weird horned hats?"
The next picture showed Hiccup with his viking helmet on.
"Oh." She said. " But, aren't vikings generally a bit more muscular?"
Hiccup rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, I've heard that before." The picture now had toothless trying to smile with only his gums showing.
"Awwww! He's so cute!" Sadie exclaimed. The next picture showed Toothless with his fangs out, looking like he was about to eat Hiccup.
"That's your pet?" Finn exclaimed.Hiccup replied,"Oh he's really nice when you get to know him.Well, as long as he's had his full of fish recently."
Percy groaned. "This sounds like it will be fun. Do you even know what a seadragonus Maximus is?"
Hiccup thought for a moment.
"No, I don't think so. You'll have to look at the Dragon Book in the village hall. Or I suppose you could just ask Fishlegs. He has it memorized."
"Fishlegs?" asked Conn.Hiccup pushed the button again and Fishlegs appeared on the screen.
"That's him." The next picture was Hiccup touching Toothless on the nose, It flickered and was replaced by a picture of Toothless on his back with his legs up and his toungue out. Astrid was nearby, sharpening her axe and looking back at the spot where Hiccup had disappeared.
"It's the portal." Hiccup cried. "That's where I was when I came here."
"Is Toothless dead?" Conn asked.
"No, he's getting his belly scratched."
"Enough chit-chat!" Sadie said."Let's go!"
So one by one they touched the TV screen and were sucked in.

Astrid blinked, then stared at the assortment of odd-looking people standing where Hiccup had disappeared. There was a silence for a moment, then Percy said,"Whoa," We're animated!"
Everyone looked down at themselves, gasping when they saw what they looked like.
"My head is huge!" Sadie cried.
Suddenly, Toothless jumped on conn from behind and with a battle cry, Astrid charged them with an axe.
Percy pulled out his sword and blocked Astrid's axe. "Wait," he said ,"We're friends of Hiccup!"
"Yeah, right!" Astrid snarled, but she lowered her axe."And I'm supposed to believe that?"
Then an "Urrmph!" from Conn, and a growl from Toothless distracted everyone. Toothless looked like he would bite off Conn's head.
"Toothless, get off him. We must not harm them...yet." Astrid said, glaring at Percy.

Astrid led them all back to the village, listening intently as Percy and Finn explained, with random comments from the others.
"I see." Toothless was following along behind, eyeing the strangers warily and occasionally growling.
"I suppose we should look at the Dragon Book first." Astrid said. "But I don't think there's any thing about a seadragonus maximus in there. It's kinda' out of date,now anyway."
She led them to the village hall, and they skimmed through the book.
"I'm not sure I want to know what a seadragonus Maximus is." said Septimus. "None of these dragons look very nice."
"Well, this book is pretty old,we only started having dragons as pets about a year ago."
"Why?" said Sadie as she looked pointedly at a picture of a Monstrous Nightmare.
"It's kind of a long story. You should ask Hiccup about it. It's mostly his story, any way. I just kind of went along for the ride."
"Then what was the axe for?" said Conn.
"Axe?" said Astrid, confused,
"Why did you drop an axe on Hiccup, and then kiss him?" Conn explained. Astrid glared at him.
"It didn't happen exactly like that. I think he was deliberately trying to annoy me."
Percy snorted, and Astrid switched her glare to him.
"What's so funny?" Astrid snapped.
"Nothing. You just kind of remind me of someone else I know."
Finn cleared his throat.

"Do you think this Fishlegs guy might know what a seadragonus Maximus is?"
Astrid shrugged. "Maybe. If anyone knows, it's probably him."
"So where is he?" asked Sadie grumpily. Astrid thought for a moment.
"Probably in the training arena, training his Gronckle. He still hasn't quite got the hang of it."

"Aaaaaaaaah!" Fishlegs was yelling when they entered the arena. He was desperately clinging to the Gronckle, trying to get it to land.
"Aren't Vikings supposed to be tough?" Sadie asked.
Astrid sighed and rolled her eyes,"The few Vikings you have met aren't exactly normal Vikings."
Just then Snotlout and his Monstrous Nightmare came swooping in and Astrid sighed again.
"That is Snotlout. He's more of your stereotypical Viking. Big muscles, small brain."
Snotlout jumped off his dragon and said,"Talking about me?" He struck a pose, until his Monstrous Nightmare licked him and he almost fell over.
Percy snorted, and Snotlout snarled,"What're you laughing at, shrimp?"

"I see what you mean." Septimus commented, backing away as Snotlout turned toward him.
Finn cleared his throat,"I thought we were going to talk to Fishlegs."
Snotlout rolled his eyes, "What do you need Fishlegs for when you have me?"
Astrid rolled her eyes,"Unless you know what a Seadragonus Maximus is, I don't think you can help us." Raising her voice she called,"Fishlegs, come here, we need to talk to you!"

Distracted, Fishlegs lost his grip on his gronckle and flew off onto snotlout.
"Oof." Snotlout said."Get off me!"
Fishlegs scrambled to his feet.
"Sorry. What did you need me for?"
" Do you know what a seadragonus Maximus is?" Astrid asked.
"It is a gigantic dragon that lives in large sea caves. It has three pairs of eyes and it's only known weakness is that it explodes when another dragon blows fire in it's mouth. There is only one known sighting. First seen by Hiccup Homendous Haddock the Third and Astrid Hofferson." Fishlegs recited.
Astrid gasped.

"Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third? That's a long name." Conn commented.
"Wait," Finn said, "You've seen one of the before."
"Yes," Astrid replied, "But it's dead now thankfully. Hiccup and Toothless killed it."
"Oh." Sadie said. "Then how are we going to be able to get it's eggs? Astrid looked thoughtful.
"Well, Maybe it was a girl dragon, and left some eggs in it's cave."
"That's a long ways away though." commented Fishlegs
Astrid looked at him witheringly.
"We could just ride dragons."
I don't know about that."said Sadie, looking apprehensive.
"Yeah!" said Conn."I like dragons!"
"Septimus looked wistful.
"If only I'd been able to bring Spit Fyre along."
"So where do we get dragons from?" asked Finn

"Well, we have a few here that you might be able to borrow. You should probably ask their owner first." Toothless came up and nudged Astrid, looking at her questioningly.
"Sorry, Toothless, I don't think anybody but Hiccup could ride you." Toothless laid down on the ground with his head on his front feet, looking sad. Conn tried to pat him on the head, but Toothless just snapped at him.
Then Stoick and Gobber walked in, deep in conversation. The saw the newcomers and stopped.
"Who are these people, Astrid? And where's Hiccup? He hasn't gone running off again, has he?"
Then Stoick noticed Toothless.
"Well, I guess he can't have run off without his dragon, so where is he?"
Astrid looked uneasy."Well, it's a bit of a long story."
"Will you just tell me where my son has gone off to?" Stoick barked.
"Um, well, he was somehow magicked away. These people are trying to help me get him back."
"WHAT?" yelled Stoick, "How did he manage that?"
Gobber broke in. "Maybe it's best we didn't know."
Stoick huffed and puffed for a bit, then relaxed. "Do you need help getting him back?"
"Could you let us borrow a few of the extra training dragons?" Astrid asked.
"I don't see why not," Gobber replied. "though some of them are a bit, well... wild."
"Great" Percy muttered.
"Thanks," Astrid said," come on, let's go see what they have."

The group headed to the dragon stable and Astrid introduced her Deadly Nadder, Nora.
"Nora can take two.Who wants to go with me?" Astrid asked.
Conn raised his hand and said, "I will!" Astrid shrugged. "All right.That leaves four more of us. What-"
"Five, actually." Snotlout interrupted. "I'm not going to miss out on the action."

"Okay." Astrid said exasperatedly. "Who wants to go with Snotlout on his Monstrous Nightmare?"
Snotlout sidled up to Sadie. "I like your hair, did you dye it with, like, blood or something? Maybe you could come with me and we could discuss it further."
Sadie thought for a moment. "Okay, your dragon is pretty cool.

Snotlout grinned, slightly surprised, and looked smug. Astrid cleared her throat, grabbed Finn's arm and said," Hey, maybe you and um… Percy can go on that Hideous Zippleback. Septimus, you can go on Nora's mate Ned.

A few minutes and a few accidents later, they were finally all in the air.
On Nora, Conn was busy being amazed at the view while Astrid tried to ignore him.
On the Monstrous Nightmare, Snotlout was talking animatedly about his various accomplishments while Sadie rolled her eyes behind his back.
Percy and Finn were having a discussion about their next move while the Zippleback's two heads snapped at each other.

Septimus was sitting quietly on his dragon, amazed at how compliant was compared to Spit Fyre.
"How's Ned doing, Septimus?" Astrid yelled.
" Great!" He yelled back.
" Good. He was trained personally by Hiccup, you know."
" Oh."
Soon they arrived at a huge volcano crater with a large hole in the side.
" That's thanks to Hiccup's dad." Astrid commented.
"Nice hole." Said Percy.
" I've done bigger though."
Sadie looked at him strangely.
" Are you sure you're not a kleptomaniac? Or a pyromaniac?"
" Yes, I'm pretty sure."
" Anyway." Finn said," Where are we supposed to be looking, Astrid?"
" Down through that big hole." She pointed.
