Just want to go over it one more time before I do that...."I was hoping you'd post it soon! I have to nominate a book for January in another book club, and was hoping I could make it fit for the next challenge. :)
I tried to make some of them really versatile, but there are some that may be difficult to find a book for....but that's why they are 15 and 25 point tasks. :)
Yay! I am so glad I did this challenge because I have been finally clearing out some of my older books I never got around to. I didn't help things though when I went on a book-buying-shopping-spree. I can't wait for the next one as well!
I hope you post it soon because I am so curious now! ;) At least give us a clue about this covers theme...
Suzanne wrote: "I hope you post it soon because I am so curious now! ;) At least give us a clue about this covers theme..."Me too, Suzanne! I always have so much fun figuring out which books to put with each task :)
No clues, LOL! But I will be posting it sometime this weekend. I didn't have a chance to do it yesterday because I was trying to finish up a couple of books.
I'm not posting it just yet because I'm thinking about a couple of last minute changes on it....

Ok, here are the rules...
1. The challenge runs from January 1 – March 31, 2011
2. Anyone may join in at any time, and count any books read between January 1 and March 31. All participants must post their book list in this thread.
3. Books do not have to be specifically from Red Dress Ink.
4. You may only complete each task ONCE. Likewise, books may only count for ONE task.
5. To post points: Post the point value and number of the task you completed, as well as the book you read for the task. It also helps to post your total points as well.
6. For multiple-book tasks: Books do not need to be read back-to-back, or in any specific order, but you must have read ALL the books for a task in order to be awarded points for it (no "half points").
7. Audiobooks and e-books are acceptable to use for challenges, as long as they are the complete and unabridged versions.
8. Books started before January 1 may count for any task in the challenge, as long as you are no more than halfway through the book as of January 1.
9. You may change the books on your list at any time. Changing books for tasks already completed is NOT permitted.
10. Re-reads of books are okay, unless the task specifically says otherwise.
11. The first person to complete every task in the challenge is the winner. If no one completes every task in the challenge, then the people with the top 3 scores will be declared the winners.
12. Prizes for the top 3 finishers:
First Place – A $10 Amazon.com gift certificate
Second Place – Two credits from either BookMooch or Paperbackswap (your choice)
Third Place – A book

It took me about 4 hours to go through all of my books to find everything - and I still couldn't find a good luck charm one! GRRR! Stacy - I decided to force myself to read one of her books again in a challenge, or I may never get around to reading it. I was able to stick in 3 of the books I've been dying to read so I'm excited for this next challenge. Now I just need to keep motivated for the current one so I can cut down my TBR shelf!
I am working on my list! Fun!Two questions, though. What did you have in mind for this one?
Repitition - Read a book with a pattern on the cover
Do you mean a pattern like in fabric, or a design, or do you mean any sort of repetition?
Also, do you think I could use this cover for purple? I suppose it's more of a dark blue or indigo, but indigo is in the rainbow. ;)

Looks purple to me! The girls name even says it's Violet in the synopsis:)
Stacy wrote: "Wow! Alicia & Kourtney! You gals were fast posting this one! :)"I was on a hormonal high. I just went through my To-Read list on here, quick and easy way to look at the covers.

Yeah Suzanne, that works for purple. For the pattern, it doesn't have to be a fabric or anything like that. You were correct - just any kind of repition. I've seen a lot of books that have that. One example is the Secrets of My Hollywood Life books. I think all of them in this series have some sort of pattern on the cover.

I know, I figured with as many examples as I came up with it'd be easy enough. Apparently not! :)

I couldn't find anything with a good luck charm on it either, but I was thinking of using the book There's Cake in My Future by Kim Gruenenfelder. It's got little charms on it. From the description, it sounds like they are supposed to be good luck charms for the characters.
YAY SUZANNE!!! I can use that book too! I pre-ordered it so long ago I almost forgot that it is coming the end of this month. Please say it's ok to use Stacy!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!

The Jinx since the girl on the cover has her fingers crossed.

I agree, the Slighly series is great...for the most part. She gets a little whiny I think in the middle books, but they're still good.

I was just thinking - I know the sites not active anymore but you can still view the covers - Go to www.candycoveredbooks.com and click on Books on the left and you can view all the chick lit books from A-Z. Only thing is, wehre the site hasn't been updated in a while, you won't see any 2010 books...I think it's been down for about a year? But could be a good resource for this challenge!

This is a great challenge - very creative, Stacy! Not sure yet if I'll participate, because I really want to read and not plan ahead (I do too many challenges and I keep reading for the challenges instead of reading what I want to). But I might be persuaded if I can use books I already own! That said, if you click on your To Read shelf and click on "Covers" at the top of the page, it will show you the covers of all of the books on your TBR list. Makes it much easier to plan since you can see everything on the covers!

That's what I did Jen. But did you have any problems with it? I notice they've changed the view. You can view either a certain number, or "infinite view." I tried the infinite view and it took forever, I don't think I like that option very much.

Alicia and Stacy-- I enjoyed the first two Slightly books, but somehow ended up not reading the rest. I figured this cover challenge would be a good way to finally get to them. I also want to try to work in the Pretty Little Liars series (book 3 is my next to read) which I see Suzanne has listed for this challenge too.

Nicole and Suzanne - I just ordered that whole series off of Amazon! I've heard a lot of good things about the Pretty Little Liars series. I was able to add the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series into the challenge, as well as the last 2 books in the LA Candy series.Stacy - I can never view books off of "infinte view" as it always freezes my internet. I have to very quickly choose something like 50 covers, and even then it loads slowly.

I was thinking the same thing!!

Ashley wrote: "Wow! Everyone has their lists up and I haven't even started! I guess I'd better get going, huh? =)"I only put up my list now so it'd be on the first page. I waited forever with our current challenge and now always have to search for my list. The list for this challenge is not even close to being filled out; it's up for purely selfish reasons.
