Kellee Moye (kelleemoye) Smile by Raina Telgemeier
I read this book for the Oct-Dec challenge and originally it was for National Dental Hygiene Month, but it ended up being much more than that.

This book is Raina Telgemeier's memoir of her life from age 11 to 14. During this time, Raina goes through one dental trauma after another, but never loses it completely. Raina has such strength. The book does touch on the complication of dental care (which makes it fit in the challenge for the specific awareness of October), but there was much more to the book- it was about independence, growing up, bullying, love, and family. This graphic novel is perfect for anyone who is a pre-teen or teenager OR anyone who has ever been one.
