Courtesy to my ol' pals Crymson and Solanine, and their amazing rank-creating abilites for the following information.

Dominant Ranks
Alphas - The alphas are first in command. Their word is law. They are a mated pair.
Betas - The beta and betess are second in charge and share an equal amount of power. The beta pair are NOT a mated pair.
Deltas - The delta and deltess are third in charge and share an equal amount of power. The delta pair are NOT a mated pair.
Auxiliary - The auxiliary is the alphas' assistant. Holding this rank means you must be well-liked and respected to have been chosen by the alpha pair themselves. Occasionally two wolves will be put under this rank, in which case they are NOT a mated pair.

Subordinate Ranks
Elite Guard - The elite guard consists of the top five trainers, enforcers, sentinels, and hunters in the pack, not necessarily in that particular order, and will most likely be put in a dominant rank if they excel as a member of the elite guard.
Trainers - Trainers train young wolves to become talented adults, as well as those who need the help. Their duties also consist of keeping existing pack members in shape.
Enforcers - Enforcers are usually the wolves on the front line of battle, just behind the elite guard.
Sentinels - Sentinels are the guards, messengers, and lookouts of the pack.
Hunters - Hunters hunt and provide food for the pack.

Inferior Ranks
Pups - Pups are too young to train, and as a result, their only job is to enjoy life at the fullest while learning the laws of the pack.
Omegas - Omegas consist of untrustworthy wolves or inactive members. They are the only rank not allowed to have pups. They can also be considered the "slaves" of the pack. Their job is to perform different services and duties, underneath the word of all the dominant and subordinate ranks.
Unranked - Unranked wolves do not have a rank. Most wolves underneath this rank will take the responsibilities of an omega until they earn their rank, unless they are needed (or wanted, depending on the situation) elsewhere. Elderly wolves underneath this rank, however, are just told to relax and, if they wish, share their wisdom with others, for their days are now limited.
Exiled - Exiled wolves have dishonored the pack and have been cast out. They are rarely welcomed back into the territory. If these wolves happen to wander back, they are to be warned to leave. If they disobey, they are to be chased out -- preferably in an unfriendly manner.
