I will be honest here. I was told the sex scenes were over-the-top so I haven't watched it. I feel that the topic should be the center, not the naked men. At least in this situation....
hmpf - I'd mistrust your source. The sex scenes were, if anything, a bit too subtle, imo. The feelings of the men involved were more of a focus than the lust. Of course, I was in my 40s when I saw it, so no 'tender sensibilities' about sex here! I *highly* recommend it. The violence was intense enough for an R rating and for me to say, not for kids. But I'd be willing to bet that anyone here would appreciate it.

True, it's a macho thing. With so much more emphasis on metro-sexual and homo-sexual men. Most hetero men feel the need to over-emphasize their masculinity.

After I saw the movie, I read the very short novella. It gave me nothing the movie didn't. I'd say, given the gorgeous countryside and the visual impact of all the different actors' behaviors, this is one time the movie is better than the book. The book is good though if you don't want to watch the movie.

I haven't seen this movie yet, so I'm not sure what to think about this movie. What did you thought about this movie?
