I was happy when the rumors came up of Hunter Parish playing Peeta in The Hunger Games movie. I felt like he would be perfect. He clearly fits the description of the character and is attractive but I think he has shown some great range with his work on Weeds. He can go sensitive or charming, innocent and protective. I was very disappointed when I heard they went with Josh Hutcherson. He is not a bad actor but I don't see him in the role. . . hopefully he proves me wrong.

I like the decision to cast Jennifer Lawrence, though I will admit she influenced the way I viewed Katniss. I saw the promo photo when I was about half way through the book. I realized then I thought she was younger, even though the author said she was sixteen. In my mind, the character thinks more like a thirteen year old. Sixteens, especially girls, are very aware of love and crushes. That Katniss and Peeta could be best friends and she not realize they might fall in love is a bit fairytalish. Jennifer Lawrence appears more like the Katniss I think the author had in mind. Thumbs up here. Can't wait to see it!
