I had the awesome opportunity to meet Nicholas Sparks in person. A few years back, The University of Akron (Ohio) scheduled him to speak at the big theater downtown. It was sold out - and I managed to get a front row seat! He told stories about his writing and answered everyone's questions about himself and where he comes up with the ideas for his books. He's completely down to earth and everything you'd picture! I waited in line forever to get him to sign my book - but it was totally worth it to shake his hand and get to meet him!! Has anyone else gotten to hear him speak?? It was a great experience!! And probably the only famous person I'll ever get within 10 feet of! ;0)

Brandie,
What a Wonderful experience! On the DVD for "A Walk to Remember" he speaks about the making of the movie. There was absolutely no pretension about him. He just had a great time being involved in it. :)Doug

I wish I could meet Nicholas Sparks. I will be in North Carolina to visit some family this coming week, so I will be in the same state! I hope to get to a book signing someday at whatever Barnes and Noble he frequents. I don't think this year will be "The Lucky One."
I've met him last year when he was doing a signing for The Last Song. I was soooooooooooooo excited. I had a huge cheesy grin on my face for weeks! I also heard him speak at UNCW in November, I think. He's awesome.
Again this year, my mom let me miss school and go to New Bern and see him on the 14th. (: I waited a LONG time, but it was so totally worth it. He's so nice. I hope you meet him too!
When I hear the name nicholas i think of an old person. That's why when i looked at his picture I was surprised, hes actually very young looking. What's he like?
He's been very nice and funny everytime I have seen him. If he speaks in your area, go see him. I saw him speak at UNCW last November and it was just fantastic.
cool. ok, I will try :) Maybe I'll get to see him on my birthday this year. :) If he comes in december.
Yeah I met him on Sunday and he was so laid back and humorous. He let people ask him questions and he signed every single book. He even started early which I though was very nice. I loved listening to him talk.
You guys are so lucky to meet him! I'm currently in North Carolina and I've been thinking lately of visiting him in his house personally but that'd be too crazy, haha.
I met him last September in Vero Beach Florida. IDK how to post a pic but I can post a link to my facebook page picture. He is a very nice guy and a great speaker!http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?se...
If it doesn't work if someone can tell me how to post pics I will do that...
Oh my gosh, I am so jealous of you all! I haven't ever met him, but I got to ask him a question online, and he might answer. Exciting! You can ask him a question here: ask Nicholas Sparks a question
Jealous of all of you who have met him! I live in Florida and he hasn't been here this year and according to his book tour it doesn't look like he's coming! I'm hoping to go to NC soon so being in the same state as him will be pretty cool. =p
I met him last Oct.28 for "The Best Of Me" Book signing.see my display picture.
he is such a great author. I will never forget the moment.
Awesome!!! :) I would love it if I could meet him!!! :)It is very unlikely though because I'm not in America :(
About 2 months ago he was in Los Angeles. I found out at the last minute so I didn't go. I really wish I would have. I hope he comes back again. I will make sure I go.
I met him in April of 2011. He did a 2 hours long discussion about why he started writing, the background of the books, etc... It was amazing! I then got to talk to him and have a book signed :) I want to meet him again so I can get a picture. He now follows me on Twitter and sometimes "favorites" my tweets!!
