Hi everyone,

Here are February's Books of the Month!

February Fantasy: The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin
February SF: The Player of Games by Iain M. Banks

As always, I've set up a few starter topics, but please feel free to start more - and if anyone would like to volunteer to lead the discussion, please let me know.

I sent N.K. Jemisin (Nora) a message to see if she'd like to join us for the discussion of her novel, but she's up against a deadline this month so if she does drop by, her participation will probably be limited. If she stops by, I'll set up a topic for "questions for the author" if there's sufficient interest.

We also have our schedule for the next few months:

March Fantasy: The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
March SF: Dragon's Egg by Robert L. Forward

April Fantasy: Black Sun Rising by C.S. Friedman
April SF: Lord of Light by Roger Zelazny

(which makes April the first time we have two books that already were our Books of the Month in previous years... Nothing wrong with that, of course.)

In other news, our ongoing discussion of the WARS OF LIGHT AND SHADOW series by Janny Wurts is getting close to the end of Peril's Gate, and in mid-February we'll be moving on to Traitor's Knot. All the discussion threads for previous books in the series are still open, and Janny is still monitoring them, so if you haven't joined us yet, it's not too late to pick up the first books in the series!

Related to this, we also have our seventh giveaway going! Please go vote in this poll for a chance to win a copy of Traitor's Knot: http://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/43... (and we don't have a whole lot of entries yet, so you have a decent chance of winning!) The poll will close on Feb. 4th.

And that's it for now. Enjoy and... get reading!

Stefan
