I read online last week that John Irving is writing his next book which will be released in 2013. Has anyone heard any more details about it than that?

Where is everyone? Have we all read In One Person are we ready for "Avenue of Mysteries"? Here is something from the publisher & Mr. Irving's page
"In Avenue of Mysteries, Juan Diego—a fourteen-year-old boy, who was born and grew up in Mexico—has a thirteen-year-old sister. Her name is Lupe, and she thinks she sees what’s coming—specifically, her own future and her brother’s. Lupe is a mind reader; she doesn’t know what everyone is thinking, but she knows what most people are thinking. Regarding what has happened, as opposed to what will, Lupe is usually right about the past; without your telling her, she knows all the worst things that have happened to you.
Lupe doesn’t know the future as accurately. But consider what a terrible burden it is, if you believe you know the future—especially your own future, or, even worse, the future of someone you love. " end quote
And the book tour now includes Louisville Kentucky
Oh gosh let him come to N/E Florida

Has anyone on here read this book? I just finished it and desperately need to discuss the ending with someone who has read it!

I liked it until the end. I can't figure out who the nun was?

"Avenue of Mysteries" was a refreshing departure from Irving's New England focus, and I really enjoyed it. His juxtaposition of the Roman Catholic faith and it's history in Latin America, along with the "physical" gratification vs. "spiritual" set up an interesting moral dilemma. If Irving intended to present us with a moral lesson, it was probably "don't skip your beta blockers just to get laid." The Dump Reader chose the physical and paid the ultimate price. Classic Irving, and great on audiobook.
