Your profile pic is cool. Don't think I've mentioned that. I'm glad I don't have a dog like that though. I don't like big dogs all that much.
Cats are cool. Your pic looks like a dog when its small but when I click on it I can't really tell. It looks like it'll hop out of the computer and eat me.
Hahaha! That would be really creepy if it was a dog. I like dogs, but not crazy, foaming-at-the-mouth dogs. Those are creepy.
Hi guys,Yes, planned for four in the series at this point in time. This one is pretty long, about 217000 words, then looking forward to writing the next part as the whole world it's set in expands. Funny you mention nightmares or dreams, not once in the three years it took me to write did I dream of being 'part of the book'. Always wanted to wake up thinking 'wow, i was just in it..!'
Wow! I always dream of being part of books. I sometimes even dream of being in stories I wrote in elementary school lol. Maybe you'll have one after discussing it; :)Hope you have fun with your writing. I'll be looking forward to reading it. I added it to the to-read shelf.
Hi! Wow, that's pretty odd, Russel-- I have been writing a novel for some time now and I have never dreamed myself in it either. Kind of strange!
I've never dreamed myself in a novel. I don't think:)
I always do a few pages then quit because its so much like other books or movies.
I have hundreds of those, but then I found an idea that I liked and just went with it. I try to make it as little cliche as possible.
I got an idea! I'll make a book about llamas ruling the world!!!
I won't! The llamas will be the bad guys and the penguins will fight for their freedom.
alright! how's these lyrics? The Penguins are the best! They will let others rest! We'll save everyone from llamas! Then there won't be any drama!
Yeah! now I have to get started.
Hey Russelnot sure of you remember me i was at armageddon expo 2011 at auckland on saturday i was caitlin the one with the top with stars on,anyway i was wondering if you do posters of the characters because i would love to see what they look like would be cool!,plus thanks for signing my book loving it!
caitlin xoxo
Hi Caitlin,The only finished artwork is of the main cover. I had a brief chat with some of the concept artists at the show to look at doing something more in regards to characters and places, so it could happen in the future. I have photographed some images of Na'ilah, Baeta and Keysa, still trying to find appropriate and local models for Ohrl and Faerl.
Keep up to date on the face book page, any new things like this will be announced on there.
Hope you enjoy it.
Russell

I am new to Goodreads. I have just written the first in a series of four fantasy novels, and am trying to get the word out there. I am hoping it's a series of books that readers will love to get lost in, set in a collapsing world and full of intrigueing characters, plots within plots, deception, betrayal and despair. (bit of humour too..) It's intended to be real, gritty and happy endings are not my intention.

The book is called 'The Madness of Hallen', the series is called 'the Khalada Stone series'.
Brief Synopsis
Half a millenia ago, the mind of Husam al-Din was ripped apart and scattered beyond the borders of the known lands. Though secured by bloody war, the peaceful legacy he brought has begun to collapse, and the world once again starts a slow descent into chaos. Against all who betrayed him, al-Din will be forced to reclaim those who survived. There are none who can prevent his return, but there are three who would control him. All that stands in their way is their own sanity, and everyone they love.
The Madness of Hallen is the first of four epic novels in the Khalada Stone series, following the lives of two brothers in their quest against the rightful heir to the mind of Husam al-Din.
