Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) I know it's not summer, but it's hot enough for summer. What music is on your hot list?

I've been listing to XM Radio: XMU and Alt Nation.

Here are the bands I'm really liking right now:

Fleet Foxes
Beach House
Land of Talk
Arcade Fire (I was kind of iffy about them, but I like this new album "The Suburbs" quite a bit)
Antlers

Duran Duran has a new cd out, but I haven't picked it up yet. I will!

How about you?

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) Mumford and Sons "Sigh No More". I haven't heard anything like it for quite sometime.
Patti Rothberg's first album "Between the 1 and the 9". Find it on eBay and prepare to be amazed.
The soundtrack to StarkidPotter's latest musical Starship.
Florence and the Machine's Bonaroo set I watched on Youtube. It's the best she sounded live in a long time.
Ashok's one and only album "Plans"

Maxine | 4 comments I've been listening to (or, to be more accurate, watching) a lot of Godspeed You Black Emperor on YouTube lately. When I first heard them a few years ago, I just didn't 'get' them but now I can't get enough. Other than that, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, old Motown and girl groups from the '60s (Ronettes, Shirelles, etc), are always my favourite summer sounds.

I just bought Eddie Vedder's 'Ukelele Songs' and it is fantastic! Highly recommended!

I've been having a grim summer with The Smiths, The Sisters of Mercy, Zbigniew Preisner, and some more. Apart from the heat, it might as well be Autumn for me. But don't get me wrong, that's always a good thing. :)
