As always....The Rules

1. The challenge runs from April 1 – June 30, 2011
2. Anyone may join in at any time, and count any books read between April 1 and June 30. All participants must post their book list in this thread.
3. Books do not have to be specifically from Red Dress Ink.
4. You may only complete each task ONCE. Likewise, books may only count for ONE task.
5. To post points: Post the point value and number of the task you completed, as well as the book you read for the task. It also helps (me) to post your total points as well.
6. For multiple-book tasks: Books do not need to be read back-to-back, or in any specific order, but you must have read ALL the books for a task in order to be awarded points for it (no half points).
7. Audiobooks and e-books are acceptable to use for challenges, as long as they are the complete and unabridged versions.
8. Books started before April 1 may count for any task in the challenge, as long as you are no more than halfway through the book as of April 1.
9. You may change the books on your list at any time. Changing books for tasks already completed is NOT permitted.
10. Re-reads of books are okay, unless the task specifically says otherwise.
11. The first person to complete every task in the challenge is the winner. If no one completes every task in the challenge, then the people with the top 3 scores will be declared the winners.
12. Prizes for the top 3 finishers:
First Place – A $10 Amazon.com or BarnesAndNoble.com gift certificate
Second Place – Two credits from either BookMooch or Paperbackswap (your choice)
Third Place – A book from my posted books on Bookmooch or Paperbackswap

5 pts.
1. Brand Spankin’ New – Read a book released in July, August or September of this year.
2. To Be Young Again – Read a YA book. (Cuz they’re so much fun!)
3. Déjà vu – Random.org is so much fun, I thought we’d repeat an old task from an earlier challenge. 1) Go to your To-Read list on Goodreads, and sort the list by Date Added in Edit View. You should see that every book has a number; according to when you added it to the list (i.e. #1 is the first book you added to the list, #2 is the second, and so on). 2) Go to www.random.org. Using the Random Number Generator, type in 1 as the Min. number and the total number of books on your To-Read list as the Max number. (mine is 1708, so I'd enter 1 and 1708). Click Generate to generate a random number. 3) Find the book on your To-Read list that corresponds with that random number. 4) If you are unable to find the book corresponding to that number on your list, it's because you've either already read the book or have removed it from your list. Use the generator to generate numbers until you find a book you have, but haven't yet read. NO NEW BOOKS FOR THIS TASK!
4. Going Paperless – Read an eBook or listen to an AudioBook.
5. Going Green – Read a book from the library.
6. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – Have a book swapping account? Read a book that’s on somebody’s wishlist so you can post it (if you decide to do so) and spread the love. Don’t have a swapping account or any books on a wishlist? Borrow a book from a friend (or the library).
7. Stars & Stripes Forever – Read a book with a star or stripes on the cover (Examples: Secret Celebrity - Carol Wolper, Turning Japanese - Cathy Yardley, Smart Girls Like Me - Diane Vadino)
8. Dog Days of Summer – July 31st is Mutt’s Day! Read a book with a dog on the cover. (Examples: Pug Hill - Allison Pace, Tales of a Drama Queen - Lee Nichols, Roommates - Whitney Lyles)
9. Cooking is the New Black – Have you noticed how cooking/baking has become a popular theme in books? Read a book that has cooking/baking as a (mostly) central theme. (Exmaples, The Love Goddess’s Cooking School - Melissa Senate, Good Enough to Eat - Stacey Ballis, The Bake-Off - Beth Kendrick)
10. First Things First - Read the book in the first slot of your To Read list (unless you don’t have it and do not want to acquire it, then move to the next until you get to a book you have)

10 pts.
1. Name Game - Read a book with part of your name in the title. (Examples, I could read Stay - Allie Larkin, Beneath a Starlit Sky - Amanda Goldberg, The Starter Marriage - Kate Harrison)
2. Rollin’ in My - Read a book whose author’s initials are the same as your car (or your dream car if you don’t have one). For example, I drive a Mercury Milan, so my author’s initials need to be M.M.
3. Red, White & Blue – Read a book with any of these words in the title, even if the word is part of a bigger word. (Examples, A Catred Affair - Sue Margolis, Single white E-mail - Jessica Adams, The Last Little Blue Envelope - Maureen Johnson)
4. Numerology, Part One – Add all the numbers of your birthday, keep adding the numbers until you come up with a single digit and read a book whose last page ends or starts with that number. (For example, my birthday is 09-13-1979, so I add 0+9+1+3+1+9+7+9 to get 39, then I add 3+9 and get 12, then I add 1 + 2 to get 3. I will be reading a book with the last page number of XX3 or 3XX.)
5. Numerology, Part Two – Using your number for the previous task, read a book with that many words in the title.
6. Taboo – Read a book with a taboo word in the title. (Examples, Sex with the Ex - Tyne O’Connell, It’s My F---ing Birthday - Merrill Markoe, Poor Little Bitch Girl - Jackie Collins)
7. Happy Birthday! – Read a book published in the same month as your birthday.
8. On TV – Read a book set in the state of your favorite TV show (For example, my favorite show is Jerseylicious, so I would read a book set in New Jersey.)
9. Ain’t That the Truth? - Read a non-fiction book.
10. Time for a Change – Read a book that isn’t your usual chick lit, romantic comedy type of book.

15 pts.
1. Starstruck – Have one (or a couple) favorite actor/actress, singer or sports figure? Read two books whose authors have the same initials.
2. Real or Not – Read one book with an animated/cartoon picture on the cover and one book with a real picture on the cover (Examples: Everyone Worth Knowing - Lauren Weisenberger and Paranormalcy - Kiersten White, The Hopeless Romantics Handbook - Gemma Townly and Loose Screws - Karen Templeton)
3. End/Start – Read two books: the last book in a series you’ve been reading (could be the sequel to a book you’ve already read), and start a new series.
4. Stuck in the Middle - Read two books in the middle of a series (cannot be the first or last book)
5. Summer/School - This challenge takes place during summer and the start of school. Read two books, one that has something to do with summer and one that has something to do with school. It could be the cover art, the title, the setting, etc. (Examples: The Pact - Jennifer Sturman and The Mosts - Melissa Senate, Swoon at Your Own Risk - Sydney Salter and The Battle for Big School - Sarah Tucker)

25pts.
1. JAS – Read three books whose author’s first or last name matches the first letter of the months of this challenge. One author for J, one author for A and one author for S.
2. A, An & The – Read three books, one that begins with A (the word, not the beginning letter of a word), one that begins with An, and one that begins with The.
3. RDI Shout Out – Read three RDI books.
4. Well Rounded - Read three books, each one from a different genre. (Examples: Mystery, Horror, Chick Lit, Sci-Fi, Biography, Western)
5. Read Yourself - Using your initials for your first, middle and last name, read three books, each one starting with each initial. So I would read one book that starts with S, one that starts with M and one that starts with F.

I'll give it a few days and take this stuff off too so hopefully everyone can post on the first page.

Great book, but a difficult one to read. Used up quite a few tissues with this one!

Ha ha! I'm only messing with you! I wish I could read as much as you do... I am taking online classes and working full time nights so my leisure reading is reduced quite a bit right now!

Ashley I feel for you! That's what happened to me with the last challenge. I was taking two online classes plus working full time (and throw a kid into the mix! lol).
I'm so happy to have the summer off from school! Good luck!
