loveitloveitloveit. It's on my to-reread-as-soon-as-possible list. I think there is absolutely nothing wrong with the plot, what so ever ._.
have read book 1. liked it. Somehow lost interest partway through book 2. Will take it up when my interest in YA dystopia is revoked.
One of the books I wouldn't have discovered with out Goodreads. I liked it very much. I recommended it to some of my friends and they too liked it. I was not much of a fan of dystopia before reading this book. I even read Divergent after this. But I liked Hunger Games better. Can't wait to see the movie. What do you guys think about the cast of the movie?

I don't think it's possible for the cast to live up to everyone's expectations, but what I've seen doesn't look too horrible.
There is no way the book is even going to be half as good as the books. The cast is okay I guess but, yeah I imagined all the charectars way different. I wonder how the poeple in the capitol are going to look.
Did you guys see the teaser trailer of Hunger Games on IMDB??. It is a one minute trailer showing only Katniss
I just started reading the first book and it‘s great. I really want to thank this group because of you I discovered this masterpiece!!
The movie has released.. Yay..!! Can't wait to watch it..:)
Haven't started reading the series yet..Waiting for my summer vacations.. Exams are still going on..:(

The book is a dystopian fiction set in a fictional place called Panem made up of a capitol city and 12 districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.
Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before—and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that will weigh survival against humanity and life against love.
Just watched the movie. Movie is great. An exact adaptation of the book. I don't think they did much editing in the movie version. The violence is kind of downplayed and the capitol's power to control them is not getting much emphasis. I think it will be a little confusing for those who didn't read the book. Nevertheless a terrific movie with some great acting. It is a one women show.
Movie is good. But you don't get much emotionally vested in the characters. Reading the book is a much more fulfilling experience.
