Ellen Cracknell | 2 comments I just finished And the Sea Will Tell and I would consider it set in the US, not Kiribati. The main part of the story is set on Palmyra Island, which is US territory - and the rest of the action is mostly divided between Maui and San Francisco too.

There are some mentions of Fanning Island in the book, which is part of Kiribati - but only as a place a couple of the characters discuss possibly sailing to, it's never actually visited by anyone in the narrative.

On the other hand - I'm glad it was in here anyway, because it was an EXCELLENT read and I probably wouldn't have come across it otherwise! About to dive into Food of Ghosts now to fill Kiribati in my challenge instead.
