Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments Darkest Powers were okay books. Maybe because I read a lot of adult content as well as YA, I have a harder time with books that read more middle grade like these did. The second book was probably my favorite of the three. However, it's always nice to see books with different storylines, and this series was definitely not like anything else I'd read.

I know a lot of people who love them though, so this is one case where I'm probably going to say that the problem was with me.

Carina The Darkest Powers books were ok-good-ok again, to me. The thing that I really liked about them was that (view spoiler)
I'll definetly give the spinoff a go, but not until all the books are out.

Ashley (ashleycw) | 257 comments I loved Darkest Powers, but I really like the way Kelley Armstrong writes. I was alright with the subject matter and the fact that they aren't as mature as some other books, but I like variety.

Darkness Rising has been okay, but I'm not as excited about it as I was with the DP.

I am interested to see how they all tie together, which I'm assuming they will do at the end.

Brittney I enjoyed the darkest powers series. It has been a while since I actually read the books, but I found them to be creative. At the time I hadn't read anything quite like it. The writing is more simple, but sometimes it is nice to read books that have that kind of writing style. I haven't attempted to read the spin off series so maybe I will.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments You'll have to let us know if you like the spin off series. I haven't seen many people read it.

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) I really like Kelley Armstrong's writing, and the "Darkest Powers" trilogy was well-done. I haven't gotten around to the spin-off yet, but now I've added them to my T.B.R. List! :)
