Sandra (sleo) | 1913 comments The usual rules apply.

1. One nomination per person, otherwise we get too many books.
2. All nominations must be seconded.
3. Check the group book list to see the ones we've already read.
4. Authors cannot nominate their own books, please!
5. All books should be either stand alone or first in a series unless we've already read the first one.

Did I forget anything? I hope not.

Have at it!

ETA: Only books that are available in a variety of formats, please. Not everyone has ereaders or chooses to listen to audiobooks.

I second the book. Maybe it will give me a reason to read the book since I just bought it about two weeks ago.

This says 'young readers'. Not sure it's appropriate for this time. We may have a 'young adult' theme month, if members vote for it.

The Blue Sword is a perfectly adult book. All the characters are adults, it has a fully formed world, with an interesting take on colonialism.

I second it.

orannia I also second Song of the Beast. (I've been wanting to read more Carol Berg books ever since I devoured The Lighthouse Duology!)

I was thinking of suggesting Of Blood and Honey, but with so many other (good) nominations already I might wait until next month :)

Well, I like Robin McKinley a lot, but since this book won the Newberry Award and another award for young readers, I'd say it fits the category 'young readers', so it doesn't qualify for this month's book. Sorry.

Jacob Wallis (jacob_the_great) I'll second The Darkness That Comes Before!
