A walk to remember both movie and book are terrific, Jamie Sullivan touches your heart when story goes end, you will see the real passion between Jamie and the guy who I do nor remember his name.
I was watching this movie on Saturday on TV and getting all ready for a good cry when my youngest son got up (at 1 in the afternoon, he's 21) and his lower arm was swollen up like Popeye and the "boil" he had had turned into an abscess! I took him to ER and got it lanced and packed and shot up with antibiotics. He's fine now but I missed the ending! LOL At least I'd seen it before and had read the book.
I've seen the movie many times and it's one i always loved. I'm reading the book now and I'm excited to see how it will turn out.
I have the book on my "to read" list. I own it, but I've been trying to keep up with the latest in "books turned movies". I've heard that the book was much better than the movie, which I'm sure I can agree with once I'm done.
I just read the book about a week ago. I watched the movie a couple years ago. I re-watched the movie while I was reading the book and I was shocked about all the differences there were. (It had been so long since I watched the movie I didn't really remember everything.)Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the movie and the book but I can't compare them like I do other movies with their book counterpart.
I kind of liked how they "updated" the movie to be more about todays time then back in the 50s. It makes it more real to the generation of today what the movie was aimed towards. And the casting I thought was excellent. Landon was especially good looking and Mandy Moore did an awesome job!
For all of you who have enjoyed the book or movie, A Walk to Remember I have a group here on good reads called A Walk to Remember and I would love to have you join my group and talk about Jamie and Landon and their journey together. PLEASE JOIN! THANK YOU!!!!!
Just keep in mind that the books is set more old fashion and the movie is more modern...they are both great in their own way but there are lots of differences between the two.
For those who say that love walk to remember I cannot agree more, I really loved the book; however, I have one questions that remains in my mind..... Does Jamie really die? according to the movie she does....but according to the book? here's an excerpt....It is now forty years later, and I can still remember everything from that day. I may be older and wiser, I may have lived another life since then, but I know that when my time eventually comes, the memories of that day will be the final images that float through my mind. I still love her, you see, and I've never removed my ring. In all these years I've never felt the desire to do so..........I smile slightly, looking towards the sky, knowing there's one thing I haven't told you: I now believe, bye the way, that miracles can happen.
What does the last phrase mean..... miracle can happen? Did she live at the end?
I had that same question when I finished the book.
The book is based on Nicholas Sparks sister, and although the lord took her home Nicholas states that its up to you to decide whether or Jamie died or not. It was a miracle that she lived or a miracle that Landon got to get to know Jamie and marry her before she died.
The ending paragraph is my favorite because the way Landon remained faithful to Jamie and how much he changed and became a christian. I love the last line"And I now believe, by the way miracles do exist." Whether you take that as Jamie lived or died. I think that "The Miracle can happen" means to see each other in another world when the guy will die.they will live in heaven together as great couple like they really like to be happened .
I haven't read the book but i love this movie. I think the actors done an amazing job and it was just so touching. as always i cried my eyes out like a baby. an amazing movie and i plan to read the book too very soon.
Just keep in mind that the book and movie are very different!!! The book is set in a different time frame and while the movie follows some of the story there are a lot of differences. They are both excellent though!! :)
i will read the book at some point but i have a book addiction and everytime i go in a book shop i buy some more even though i have loads that i haven't read. now i must have about 100 books on my shelves that i haven't read. i'll get around to reading the NS books at some point. i have 7 of his but i have only read 3.
This book introduced me to Nicholas Sparks. I loved loved loved it!! I stayed up all night reading it and balling my eyes out. And then I couldn't sleep because I knew that I had the movie and I HAD to watch it. So I read the book and watched the movie on the same night. =) And I loved both of them! <3
i absoluely adored the book, i cried about abook slike never before.and the movie is amazing loved loved loved loved loved it!!
and landen hes some eye candy.
love him!!
This is probably the only book where have I actually liked the movie adaption better. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the book and actually have read it more than once, but it wasn't my absolute favorite NS book.
I think this is my favourite movie of nicholas sparks, although I have only seen the notebook and dear john. I just think mandy moore was such a good character for this.

I cry every time I'm watching the movie from the part when (view spoiler) right to the end. I also cried on a book, but 'cause I've seen the movie first, I liked the movie better then the book. I love Nicholas Sparks but there are some movies that I think are better then his books, which is strange 'cause usually it's the other way around :/. Doesn't mean I don't love the book. I've read it 5 times or more, but I just prefer the movie.
I could never get tired reading the book and watching the movie. This was the first book I've read by Nicholas Sparks and I was hooked. I'm looking forward to his next novel, being released this September!
Love is like the wind- you can't see it, but you can feel it!

The first book I've read from Nicholas Sparks was message in the bottle and I was hooked. I love his books but like I said, some movies are better then his original stories
I absolutely love the movie. It's one of my absolute favorite movies ever. But when I went to read the book and saw how different it was I was really surprise but I also love the book as well despite the difference. It's a great love story. <3
the book and movie were both so emotional and inspirational. The book influenced me to read more Nicholas Sparks books and now I just can't stop reading them!
Never read the book but loved the movie
