I am going to read it even though I didn't vote for it and it is not the type of book I usually read. Can your count go over 10?
Emily - Of course the count can go over 10. We were hoping that the people who voted for it would be strong participators, but everybody is welcome.
I am excited about this book. This is going to be my first discussion. Normally I just browse the discussion and read at my own pace.
Started reading. Sorry, can't stop at chapter 8! (Tho I do find the girl on the cover of the Penguin edition seriously freaky) lol
well Susanna, I have the same problem, how to hold the reading at this point?? Silver, is it possible to have all the threads planned for this book?

That sounds like a good idea. I've already read Chapter 9 and made myself stop there.
I'm having a hard time finding the book in any of the local stores or the library. Finally broke down and bot it from Amazon. Hope to catch up this weekend. Sounds like you all like it.
Hey I just wanted to let you all know that I am taking off this afternoon for Halloween plans. I will be back on the 31st, so I will be a couple days late in posting the next discussion section. If there is anyone who just cannot wait to get things started you can go ahead and set up the next section by following the way I have done the previous threads.
I am having such a hard time not reading ahead on UNCLE SILAS. I haven't bought or borrowed the book but am reading it here on Goodreads. I found that the READ BOOK button on the UNCLE SILAS page lead me to it but I intend to buy a copy of this soon. I love this book. It is deliciously creepy and perfect for Halloween.
