Anyone interested in haunted real-estate?
see now...I would buy that house....I'm not sure the rest of my family would appreciate the homage to horror but it would be cool to say you lived there.Just imagine what you could do for Halloween!!!!
Would you buy this haunted mansion? Lavish 10-bedroom home is on the market for $1.1million... but it is said to house the spirits of SEVEN ghostshttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/artic...
I like that house/mansion to be more enticing than Dahmer's. I would try to spend the night. : )

I wish the article would have mentioned more about what happened to the 3 journalists that attempted to stay overnight but were forced out.
I'm dying to know. : )

Sold! I could totally use that house for inspiration.
The house from American Horror Story was for sale, but seems to be off the market again. Aside from the fact that I lack the millions needed to purchase it (and any desire at all to live in Los Angeles), I love that house and would live in it.
I had some really bad experiences when i was 10-12 .. not to mention nasty things were happing with my neighbors too.. I would never buy a house haunted..I would see it during the day only
Every once in a while the Amityville house goes up for sale. It looks nothing like the house in the movie.
It's not a Nightmare on Elm Street any more! Home from movie sells for $2.1M after huge renovation turns it into a dream homehttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/artic...
Not a haunted house but pretty damn cool!
Thanks for keeping this thread updated, Ken, I love this kind of stuff. The house looks great (I think it would have been even better if the owners had done a restoration rather than a renovation; the 'new' interior just doesn't seem as homey as a 'retro' interior would have been)
Loved the painting on the wall in the living room;a nod to my favorite quartet!

Not sure if any of them are haunted...but, it would be great if they were!

"Slightly haunted. Nothing serious, though. e.g. The sounds of phantom footsteps. A strange knocking sound followed by a very quiet (hardly noticeable, even) scream at 3:13am, maybe once a week. Twice a week, tops. And the occasional ghastly visage lurking behind you in the bathroom mirror. Even still, this occurs very rarely and only in the second floor bathroom."

I toured Lizzie Borden's house this summer. It was fascinating hearing about what happened and standing where the crimes took place. As for staying there, I never really had any desire to do so but I know people who have and they say it's pretty neat stay there, especially on Halloween.
I actually considered doing a book about a couple that specifically wanted to buy a haunted house. It was a short story anthology where every story went into the background of what happened at each house they looked at. Never actually done much with it though, some of the ideas have actually grown to where I think they may even make novels now.
Misty wrote: "Did anyone watch the first season of American Horror Story? That house was crazy. You couldn't have paid me to live there."Misty, I was so in love with that house I would still give it a shot. I'd put up with a lot of creepiness to have all those gorgeous built-ins and the Tiffany lamps and windows. When the house was on the market you could do a virtual tour of the actual house and it was pretty amazing.
I'm just a sucker for big old houses with spectacular architectural details and the lumber barons littered the landscape around here with those houses. Luckily the one I bought has showed no signs of being haunted during the last 10 years of restoration work......but we have a local house that is reputed to be haunted that I would like to buy when it goes up on the market.

What a fantastic house! I've been looking to buy a Victorian to fix up and hope that it's haunted!
Buyer beware! Family home haunted by the ghost of 14-year-old 'Scary Mary' listed for sale at $1.59 millionhttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/artic...
The Florida part was the scariest. They have face-eating zombies there. The price was a bit out of my reach too...a bit.

LOL, I would be waaaaay more scared of all the giant constrictor snakes that are taking over Florida!

Yeah, my pets fear them and don't want to move to Florida either.
Zak Bagans buys 'portal to hell house' to live inhttp://www.examiner.com/article/zak-b...
That guy will find a ghost in that house whether there is one or not.

......and I'm sure it will be "angry". I've watched Ghost Adventures, but I like Ghost Hunters much better. Zak annoys me.
English Civil War era country mansion up for sale...complete with its own ghostly coach and horseshttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/artic...
Ken, I need to win the lottery, like right now. I love this place! Historic, beautiful and located in lovely north Wales. I'm a student of the English Civil Wars, so this appeals to me. I don't see any mention of acreage involved; but a place like this would have to have stables and some land, right? I wonder if they would consider a much lower offer.....

Beautiful house!
Shaun wrote: "I actually considered doing a book about a couple that specifically wanted to buy a haunted house. It was a short story anthology where every story went into the background of what happened at each..."So it would be like American Horror Story meets Heart-shaped box... :/
American Horror Story crossed with Heart Shaped Box sounds awesome in theory...But I'm only familiar with American Horror Story which I watched back to back until there wasn't any more on Netflix, and then I was sad there wasn't any more. If only I could tolerate commercials, then I would get to watch shows when they air like other people. Nope... Can't do it!!! :(
Note to self to read Heart Shaped Box.
I would absolutely without question purchase a home that had a history. Those homes (specifically in the ad) are gorgeous and I would be lucky to be able to afford one!I'd own the Addams family house or the Norman bates house - which look oddly the same...
Sorry Ken. While I have no problems with living in a beautiful haunted house, I have no desire to live in the former home of a serial killer. Besides, this house is way too uh.........rectangular for me to like; you know how I am about architecture! When I lived in Wisconsin I used to go to the outlet mall in West Bend. Ambrosia Candy Co. had a store there and I bought bulk candies from them. Creeps me out to no end when I think about Dahmer working for Ambrosia. There was way too much serial killer creepiness when I moved to Wisconsin; I once parked my car about ten yards away from the spot where the victim of a serial killer was discovered later that day. It was summer, it was hot, and I smelled something dead....at the time I figured it was just roadkill. Ewwwwwwwww!
I had just moved there from New Jersey and I was freaked out after living in my mob-controlled, safe little Italian/Jewish neighborhood. Welcome back to Midwestern creepiness.

I don't think I could live there. I would probably feel uneasy just thinking about what happened in that house.
I don't think I could live in Dahmer's house. The nature of his crimes are too horrific. Old school hauntings, I can handle. I don't think you can scrub off the sickness in that house.
As a gardener; I would be so hesitant to dig anywhere on the property. Also, I'd probably always be freaked out by any home improvement project that involved removing or replacing anything.

There are no claims that it is haunted. But, wouldn't it be nice to have this place?
