Anybody give this a read yet? Kind of curious as to how it holds up to the comics and the TV show. I.e. is it worth reading because it's as good as the other stuff? Or is it pretty predictable? I've seen reviews both ways, but have yet to talk to anybody that's actually read it!

Horror Bookworm Reviews | 11 comments I am halfway through this book. I plan to write a review when I'm done, but so far its a great zombie novel. Perfect in all aspects, a five star book for zombie lovers! However, it doesn't seem to bring anything new to the table, or has any great moments that I will never forget. Perfect for a good Halloween Holiday read though. Personally I love it!

by Robert Kirkman and Jay Bonansinga

A small close knit group of family and friends are thrown into a zombie infested apocalyptic dilemma. Philip leads his brother Brian, daughter Penny, and life long friends Nick and Bobby on a crusade from flesh eating walking dead to the safeness of a hopeful sanctuary located in Atlanta. The clan are launched into problematic situations that deal with the "Biters" along with the true evil that live among the dead. As the family fights for their survival all aspects of good and bad, along with right and wrong are thoroughly investigated with shocking and gruesome results.

Robert Kirkman has some big shoes to fill of his own making. First the highly successful graphic novels called The Walking Dead. Then the critically acclaimed television series followed. Now, with the help of Jay Bonansinga, the first novelization attempt based on The Walking Dead has been released. Focused on a small family torn by what the apocalypse has to offer, Robert achieves in slowly unfolding a nonstop gut wrenching story that the reader will undoubtedly remember for a long time to come. If this first book is any indication of future adventures, Walking Dead fans along with newbies should rejoice at the new approach to Roberts world of the dead.
