One will enter the domain of Cadenza with right foot first, body turned to the left. Every and any time someone walks through the door into the perfectly symmetrical room, they must enter this way. Else your enterance will not be permitted.

Place a wall in the direct middle of the bed, and a perfect mirror image will show on either side. Fits led to organization, organization led to symmetry.

In her home, everything must be done Cadenza's way. The floor is dirty, so shoes must be worn at all times. But your shoes are filthy, so plastic bags must be placed over them. Hands must be washed after every touch, and every piece of furniture you sit upon must be scrubbed.

Most choose to forget about the room at the end of the hallway.

"Cadenza? Is it all right if I come in?" Domonic's mellow, friendly voice drifted dully from the other side of the big door. It was his time to come visit her- his favorite time if the day, in fact- but there were sometimes when he couldn't come in. He always asked her permission before coming in, his busy turned to the left, and right foot first.

The girl flipped her head over her shoulder, amidst washing her sheets in bleach for the third time that day.

"If you'd like," came her usual answer. Cadenza could never find it within her to demand something.

Domonic smiled as he walked through the door. The strong, stinging scent of bleach struck him hard, almost blowing him over. "Cleaning furniture?" He guessed, walking up to the blonde-haired patient with his smile still in place.

"Only the sheets," she murmured absently. Latex gloves covered her doll-like hands as they pulled the white sheets in and out of the bucket of bleach.

Long blonde hair was tied up into two messy pigtails behind her head, and today Cadenza's need for symmetry showed. She wore dark black skinny-jeans-- the pair stained equally white on either side from bleach-- and a lace sleeved shirt. Seams were mirroring identical, as was the pattern in the lace.

Pale chips of river-ice flashed behind her, and Cadenza offered her nurse a quick smile, which was accompanied by butterflies in her stomach and a flush on either cheek. "Hi."

The smile was returned, but his blush was quickly pushed back down his pale throat. "Hello yourself. Your day was well, I hope?"

He approached the blach infested water, careful to keep out of the splashing zone. "Need any help? You look like you could use some help?" He gestured towards the bright sheets in her hands, raising one eyebrow. As he did, he noticed her dress today.

It was a bad day, he could tell. Her OCD was worse than usual today, which meant Domonic would try to pry her away from her schedule- and no one but him knew how hard that was- and show her something exciting.

Cadenza shrugged. "If you want. Gloves are in the drawer. Spare sheets are right here." Eyes flashed to the white pile beside her and then back to the task at hand.

"My day was fine," she continued. She always enjoyed talking with Domonic. "I ran into Alayna again."

"You did? And how was she?" Domonic asked over his shoulder, rummaging through the drawer for the gloves. They were right on top, for easy acces. Not much rummaging needed in this room, anyway. He then picked up the sheets, and carried them to the tub.

"Fine. She had a lot of questions that I didn't want to answer."

His proximity caused the girl to flush once more, but Cadenza brushed it away and slowly wrung out the now nearly neon-white sheets in her hands.

Domonic had his sleeves rolled up tightly, without any hopes of slipping down. He scrubbed the sheets well, surprised at how soothing he found the work.


"I'm sorry to hear that. You answered them anyway?" Domonic glanced up from his work, gray eyes landing on irises of ice.

"Of course."

Cadenza seemed confused; white-blonde brows were knit over her gaze. "Was I supposed to say no?"

She paused in her work, folding the sheet absently as she met Domonic's dark eyes.

Domonic shook his head, eyes closing for a moment before they fluttered open again. "No, of course not. I was just curious." He smiled at his patient, face heating up.

Cadenza smiled back, once more reassured. The sheet was folded three times, pleats exact and seams lined up perfectly. She spent nearly ten minutes folding the single sheet to perfection. Messing up once meant starting over.

Domonic watched her, and felt himself shake his head. "It looks perfect, Cadenza." He smiled in a reassuring manner, dimple showing for a second before the laundry caught his attention again.

She smiled widely. "Thank you."

The sheet started a new pile beside her, one of cleaned and acceptable sheets. Hands were dunked in the bleach once more as she took yet another sheet.

"How was your day, Domonic?"

Domonic shrugged his shoulders, dipping his hands gingerly into the bleach. "It went well. Ran into a nurse friend today, then I came to see you." For some reason, he didn't want to mention Yvette, or the fact that Yvette was a girl. It seemed wrong to him.

[XD I sense an idea brewing in your head, Silvy]

Cadenza nodded. She didn't even consider questioning it. Dom would tell her what she needed to know. "Sounds fun," she said absently, quietly. Movements of scrubbing were methodical. Up, down, three four.... Up, down, three four...

[Who, me? XD THE SISTERHOOD HAD TURNED US INTO TELEPATHS!!!]

Domonic shrugged, continuing to scrub the already white sheets. "I suppose, but it wasn't really anything special." He bumped his shoulder against Cadenza's with playfulness. "After cleaning these sheets, how about we get out if the dorm?"

Sequence was slightly interrupted. Most wouldn't notice her slight purse of the bottom lip, a falter in her hands, and a rewind button pressed.

Cadenza glanced over at him once her pattern was back to normal. "Like where?"

Domonic noticed. He noticed it all, always. He said nothing, but his eyebrows knitted together slightly.

"Oh, Iunno. Just around, I suppose. You need some fresh air."

"I got fresh air this morning," she murmured, confused. Icy fazendas returned to the sheets in her hand. She slowly began to wring them out.

"So you don't want to go out and enjoy yourself?" Now Domonic was confused. Most patients would kill (no pun intended) to escape from their cells and seek freedom outside. Cadenza sometimes confused him, but he tried to cover it. Confusion might upset her, and that was the last thing he wanted.

"I enjoy myself in here just fine," said the quiet patient, followed by a slight cough.

Lips were pursed again. She had been successfully hiding the tickles in her throats for Domonic's last few visits; why was this any different now?

He shrugged, shrugging off his disappointment and surprise. Cadenza had been acting different lately, but he couldn't place his finger on why.

"Okay, I just figured you'd want a break from the same scenery. You all right?" He was alerted by her coughs, a small frown stamped on his face.

A fierce nod. A lie. "I'm fine."

Cadenza frowned at the sheet as she folded it. Frustration didn't help her need for perfection, and it took nearly twenty times for it to become perfect. She placed it next to the other one and stripped off her latex gloves. "Done," she announced, rather triumphantly.

Domonic beamed at the thin, blonde-haired girl with a happy, triumphant smile on her face. "Well done," he praised, finishing up his own sheet. He also stripped his hands if the latex cover, resisting the urge to scratch his wrists where the bleach had snuck into and where the latex had rubbed.

Hands were red-- hours of scrubbing eventually made the latex gloves loose the majority of their protection. But Cadenza didn't take notice as she adjusted one of her loose pigtails.

"You said something about going out?"

Domonic grinned in a smile that was somehow impossibly wider than the last. "Glad you decided to let me take you out. Yeah, maybe we can take a nice walk to that cute little peach tree or something." Gently, Domonic grasped Cadenza's wrist, gently tugging her towards the door.

((poof. You first.))

Cadenza allowed herself to be dragged out. Whatever would please Domonic, of course.

"Cadenza? I'm here." Domonic called out to the perfectly symmetrical room and the girl living there. He entered quickly and swiftly through the door in the required way with a large grin, eager to see his patient.

The girl was nowhere in sight. The room was devoid of anything unusual, aside from the knife embedded in the wall, blade first, beside the door.

A shaking bump underneath the bedsheets, accompanied by tears and quiet crying, heralded the pateint's location.

Domonic took in the scene with a sinking heart, that had skipped a beat when he saw the knife angrily embedded into the wall. Afraid to touch the knife, and more worried about Cadenza in the first place. He leaped onto the bed, hand gently placed on her shoulder. He shook her, attempting gently but his fear strengthened his grip more than planned. "Cadenza!"

The crying girl attempted to wrench herself away from his grip, without much success. Head was buried under sheets and pillows galore.

"Just go," she sobbed out, though somewhere in the back of her mind she knew her efforts were fruitless.

Domonic frowned, groping for Cadenza's wrist. "Cadenza. Look at me, please." He shook her again, moving to the side so he was not ontop of her. "Cadenza?"

"No," she argued. And that was that. A simple denial.

She had been crying for quite some time, now, and Cadenza's tears were slowly turning into hiccups.

He began to hum now, still shaking Cadenza. Shiny happy people laughing/ shiny happy people holding hands... "Cadenza, please? For me, even?"

A sniffle, and another shake of her head. "You'll be mad."

Between humming, Domonic managed, "I could never be mad at you, Denza. Just show me. You trust me, right?" Look around, people people/ throw your love around/ love them love them/ take it into town...

Another sniffle, and a sigh of surrender. It took a few moments to escape from the mountains of sheets and pillows, but at last Cadenza's blue gaze met Domonic's eyes and once again filled with tears.

"Oh, Denza. Your hair." Alowly, he reached out and touched one short, ragged lock. "What happened?"

Cadenza sniffled again and rubbed the tears out of her eyes. "It wasn't even," was her simple response.

Sadness filled his features, gray eyes also brimming with tears. What if there was no hope for her? He reached out again, bringing the pixie-haired girl to his chest. "It's beautiful," he murmured sadly.

Head rested upon his shoulder as Cadenza held back a few more tears. "No, it's not. It's horrible. I should be better than this." Her words were muffled by Domonic's shirt.

His hands rubbed down her skinny arms as a soothing gesture. "Don't worry, Denza. I'll do whatever I can to help you. It hurts me to see you cry, you know." He ruffled her new hairstyle, letting the cropped locks fall from his fingers.

She sighed. "I know..."
