Brenna,
Welcome to the group! I agree I haven't been disappointed by a Nicholas Sparks book yet. I have read an even dozen - so I do have a few more to catch up on.
Which is your Favorite? :)Doug

Brenna,
I read "A Walk to Remember" first - so I am partial to that one. Finding out that "A Walk To Remember" was partially based on Nicholas Spark's Sister and brother-in-law and a tribute to them just added to the mystique of the novel for me. "Dear John" brought tears to my eyes so that has to be one of my favorites as well. Of course the dog in "The Guardian" was amazing! It is hard to stop - The Rescue and The Choice were Wonderful!
O.K., in reality, it is hard for me to pick a favorite. They are all different and that to me is one of the reasons Nicholas Sparks a great author. :)Doug

Hello! I just joined up -- I have not yet read all of Sparks' novels, but the ones I have read so far have certainly made me quite the fan!
Kendra,
Thank you for joining, it is great to have you in the group. I don't think any of us have read all of his novels...the Wonderful thing about that is that we have more to look forward to.
This is a good place to recommend which novels you think are best, which are the best novels to movies so far and which we would like to see made into movies, best characters, etc.

I read "Bend in the Road" first, and I was hooked on Sparks immediately! I may be in the minority - but I didn't love "Dear John" as much as most. I did enjoy it, but I found some of the other novels to be more gripping.
Kendra,
I also enjoyed "Bend in the road". It is great to hear that the novel hooked you on Sparks.
I agree I didn't think Dear John was particularly gripping, but I did think it was a beautiful novel.

Hi everyone,So happy to find this group :) I'm going to lead a book group discussion on Sparks' MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE and I was wondering if anyone could give me any suggestions for questions apart from the ones listed on his website? The discussion will last an hour so whatever you have (or even if you could direct me to a website) I'd appreciate it :)
Eastofoz,
Welcome to the group! Unfortunately, "Message in a Bottle" is one of the few I haven't read yet. Hopefully, someone else in the group can help - :)Doug

Hi, everyone. I've been a Nicholas Sparks fan since I first read Message in a Bottle about, oh gosh, 9 years ago!?! Loved it. Couldn't put it down. Since then I've probably read 5 (?) of his other books. I was only disappionted by one.I'm currently reading the Choice. *gasp* The name just hit me. I'm not sure what it means yet, the romance is still building but know NS it's gonna make me want to cry!
Roxy,
Great book "The Choice" - it brought tears to my eyes a number of times. Thank you for joining us - :)doug

even though i've been a 'member' of this group for awhile...i never actually introduced myself ;0) i'm a HUGE fan of Nicholas Sparks - I own every book - and have read every one except Three Weeks with my Brother (I don't get into non-fiction very often so that's been put on the back burner). but i have loved almost every one of his books and can't wait till the new one comes out in September!!!
I've read message in bottle five times and I've enhjoyed very much but I don't know I can help you or not.
Brandie,
"Three Weeks with my Brother" is written as well as any of his novels and reads like a novel. I highly recommend it. :)doug

Hi,I love all of his books they're all amazing and you don't know what's going to happen and how it's going to end, I cry in all of his books :)
The only books i haven't read that are out are 'The Wedding' and the '3 Weeks With My Brother'...
Has anyone read "3 Weeks With My Brother"??
it doesn't really interest me much to read it but i was wondering if it was any good
Oh Christina! If you loved The Notebook, you have to read The Wedding, i'm sure you'll enjoy it. I haven't read Three Weeks with my brother yet either. I wasn't sure if i would enjoy that one.
3 Weeeks with my Brother...all I can say is grab a box of kleenex and prepare for about the worst tear shedding experience of your life. I read it on a plane from Salt Lake City to DC and people keept asking me if I was ok...Its a great book and you really understand his books a lot better when you finish the memoir....did you know that the Rescue is base on Nicholas Sparks' son???
Thanks so much I definitely be reading The Wedding and 3 weeks with my brother asap! I always love a good cry lolThe Rescue is such a great book, probably one of my favorite books by him
I can't believe that's based on his son!
I didn't know The Rescue was based on his son! I know that A Walk To Remember is based loosely on his sister, she had leukemia :(
I really must agree with Rickie that 'Three weeks with my brother' is well worth reading and yes, there will be tears - :)Doug
So far for Nicholas Sparks I have read The Notebook, The Rescue, The Lucky One, and The Last Song. The Last Song was above and beyond what the movie is for me and on the flip side The Notebook movie was far better than the book to me. The Rescue was okay was a slow starter for me and The Lucky One was a little slow to start with but caught my attention pretty quickly and a really good pace the rest of the book. I am only short by a few of Nicholas Sparks books, but I alternate him with 2 other authors in the middle so I don't run out before the new ones come out. Can't wait for Safe Haven to come out next week!!
Hi i have just joined this group. so far i have only read 2 Nicholas Sparks books, the notebook and dear john. i loved both and have seen every movie adaptation of his books that have been made so far.

I established this group in order to discuss and recommend the Wonderful and tearful novels of Nicholas Sparks. I have read eleven now and enjoyed all of them! :)Doug
