Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 253 comments It's about two friends in China, their different upbringings, the fate of girls in their county and their lifestyle in general. It is very interesting as well as heart-breaking - the suffering the main character faces during the custom of foot-binding.

Now that I saw that the author is from Paris, I have begun to respect her in a whole new light.
