I tweeted this yesterday and just now tweeted my download with one of these Amazon "I bought" auto-things, which considerately leaves you about 55 characters for your own message. I think these "I bought" messages are extremely powerful, coming with a level of pre-acceptance that's hard to match unless the writer's name is Stephen King.

Presuming that this is the natural level of this story, in other words that the giveaway is going as well as can be expected, I find it interesting that you're getting downloads in the UK relative to the proportion of population between the US and UK of somewhere near 5:1.

That is interesting. I show, for Mom's short storys that 120 to 150 was average for the US. Her UK numbers were about 1/10th the US numbers.
It appears that Badlands is doing much better.

Oh good, now I don't feel so bad about not having time yet for a review. Soon, though.Pick it up Robusters, Kat is very skilled at telling a story in a few short pages...
LOL - As I'm a genre writer, instead of a literary author it IS a different story all together. (peeks over the laptop)
Is it safe to come out?
As a teacher of writing with a book to sell (as soon as I get around to writing the fourth edition), of course I always say that anyone can write as well as I do. What I normally don't add is, "if they practice for twenty years..."
Kat's a great writer with fewer than 20 years of practice (I believe), imagine how good she will be with 20 years' practice...
Blue ink - on lined paper. I hadn't learned to type yet. LOLThe purple and green ink are things I indulge in now, in my second childhood. Kench
I used to write on graph paper. HAD to be graph paper or I froze. Now I can barely operate a pen. Sometimes even I can't read my writing. It strikes me as odd because, in my mind, I'm seeing beautiful script and I feel confident I can produce it. I can't.
Got another free day coming up - April 12 - still looking for the 'big catch' for this e-book short story. The numbers to beat: US = 166, UK = 25.
The short story goes free tomorrow. Unfortunately, Real Life has interfered with my plans to plug the story. Next time...
I'll tweet and FB it for you. Hope it helps. (Now I have to work out when April 12th starts over there!)
Thanks.I've been busy with my new toy today. Hubby bought me a motorcycle. Got it street legal, got me street legal and took a short ride today.
