Emmeline walked into the training center, taking in everything she saw in the blink of an eye. Although she wasn't sure what her plans were yet, she still needed to train if she was going to survive the bloodbath. So what would use as a weapon?

The mentors stood in order by District outside the training center. Any tribute who wished to speak with them should approach them before entering the training center.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

Emmeline saw Haymitch out the corner of her eye and sneered in disgust. What was he doing here? Still, if she wanted to enter the training room, she'd have no choice but to confront him. "Well?" she said icily when they were face to face. "Do you have any advice for me, or should I just go and figure it out on my own?"

HAYMITCH

Haymitch pushed some greasy hair away from his face. First day of training, he tried to tell himself, but his body wasnt having it. His eyelids drooped. He had partied way too hard last night. Only one way to fix a hangover, and that was more gin. He pulled his canteen from his pocket and took a swig, gulping it down like it was the liquid of eternal youth.

He glanced down at the girl. "I wouldn't be so snarky when you're talking to the one person who could very well save your life during the Hunger Games. My advice to you is to watch your tongue and spend a few minutes at those survival stations. Defense as well. You won't be the kids running around eager to drink the other tributes' blood, so I think it best that you know how to take care of yourself," he drawled. "Because hunger or thirst will kill you jet as brutally as any tribute will. Now scurry off little, Emily."

Haymitch's speech was over. He shooed her away. He leaned up against the wall and closed his eyes.

message 7: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 11, 2012 08:27PM) (new)

She crossed her arms, bristling. My name is not Emily, she wanted to say. But it was hopeless-- Haymitch was a heartless drunk. Emmeline pushed past him into the training area and scoured her surroundings with her eyes. All sorts of weapons training was available, from swordplay to knifethrowing to archery. However, Emmeline figured that her wasted mentor was right about one thing: survive first, fight later. She headed over to a booth about surviving in the wilderness.

Elise had told her on the way in to try every weapon that she could, but Louise didn't plan on usig knives or swords to kill anybody. She had her own plan to win, one that would do far more damage than a puny dagger or arrow. If Louise has the supplies and the opportunity, she would have a chance at winning.

A table with springs and tarp and rope caught her eye. Shelter and survival. She stood as the instructor went through and explained things to her. She barely listened. Her agile fingers could tie every knot he showed her. He was impressed with her skill and told her that she had learned all he could teach her. She was two hours into the first day of training.

Louise smirked. She was smarter then the Capitol people, yet they thought they could kill her.

Audrey ~ EXO-L (lunewhisper7) Sakura looked at Louise. Her gaze wavered, then she looked down. She thought, Will there even be resources for me to use to paint myself like this?

Louise left the Survival and Shelter table after two hours. It was lonely in the Training Center today. Louise could see a few tributes lingering around tables, trying to find a knack for something, but there was little noise in the room. Louise didn't mind. She liked silence. Her brain worked better when there were little or no distractions. Talking annoyed her. Louise herself didn't talk very much unless she was mumbling to herself while tinkering with a machine or working through a difficult problem.

Because of this, Louise knew that making an alliance would be a problem. She was not athletic in the slightest, but she could find water, trap food, construct a shelter, figure out a map of the Arena, ration supplies and build anything she needed. She needed someone to protect her and to hunt food. She needed someone who could get to the Cornupcopia to gather supplies.

Louise walked past the camouflage table. A girl was painting herself. Camouflage was useless. Louise shook her head slightly as she walled by.

GonnaWingIt | 113 comments Jace was very reluctant to leave the dorms. He wasn't exactly the type to show off, but oh well. He forced himself out and into the open. He took in the view, hoping that no one would notice him. Taking a deep breath, he stamped over to the javelin center. It was almost comepletly empty. Good. Now I shouldn't catch anyone's attention.

He knew his district partner was somewhere, but he wasn't in the mood to make friends. Anyways., he didn't want it to come down to killing her. He shrugged, knowing he'd probably die either way.

He heftily plucked a spear up into the air. Taking aim at the furthest target, he pulled his arm back. Narrowing his eyes, he checked his position making sure he would be making a perfect shot. He stepped back with one foot, preparing to throw.

When he felt like there was no one but him, he threw the spear. The spear was astoundingly fast, and when it found its target, a sickening "riiip* sounded that he had torn through the card board. He opened his eyes, and examined the taget from afar. A perfect shot. The spear had made a hole right through were the heart would've been. He smiled quietly to himself.

GonnaWingIt | 113 comments Jason was over at the knife throwing center. It seemed he was the only one who had the ability to throw knives. He sat up straight, and waited for them to line the targets up.

message 14: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Kliora (sarahgraykay) Millie walked into the Training Center holding hands with Luke. This was the first time they have had contact since they arrived in the Capitol. When they saw the other tributes, Millie let go of Luke's hand. She looked at Luke and he understood. It's not best to show any sign of weakness, especially when there are 23 others trying to kill you.

"Where's Sage?" Millie asked.

"I'm not sure, but last night she came by and told me that there would be another mentor from District 2 to mentor me."

Millie started shaking. "Does this mean that we won't be mentored together?"

Luke shrugged. He had hoped that they would stay together, throughout this terrible situation. Just then, he saw Sage and a man standing by her. "Millie, our mentors are over there."

message 15: by GonnaWingIt (new)

GonnaWingIt | 113 comments Jace stomped over to the spear, and pulled it from the ground. He grinned at his sucsess, but remebered he would be facing 23 other tributes.

He finaly noticed his menotr wasn't around. He looked around. "Oh, well. Who cares? Probably training my counterpart." he shrugged, forcing himself to forget about it.

He needed to stay independant; free from bonds so he could kill without sorrow.

CAUSS- Mentor

He was a tall man with firm arms and legs. He had a wrestlers body, flexible and fast but also very powerful. He won the Games ten years ago by brute force, by just forming one alliance and killing off thirteen tributes singlehandedly. When it came down to it, he killed is ally senselessly. He was a force to be reckoned with at seventeen. He was a star pupil of the training academy and he returned home in glory and success, but secretly he had nightmare and overwhelming guilt at what he had done.

Now, his first time as a mentor, Causs felt like he was going back Ito the Arena. He felt fear, but also a sense of excitement.

He would be training the District Two boy, Luke Sevina. He had never heard of the kid before, but Causs never claimed to be the most social butterfly. He had seen pictures of the boy though, and that's how he recognized him. Causs raised a hand as the kids approached.

"District Two!" he boomed. "Glad to meet you. He grabbed the boy's hand and shook it hard. He released it and ran that hand through his golden hair. He noticed that the girl seemed fearful. She wouldn't last long. He looked at her. "We are planning a District Two win this year, Sage and I!" His partner rolled her eyes. That one had a temper on her, all right.

"Okay, so... My name is Causs, and you've met Sage already. I'm going to be Luke's mentor and Sage will be your lovely tutor, Mille," he smiled. "While we are different, we will work our hardest for both of you." Causs took a breath. He seemed like a friendly coach, but he would not ease up on these kids just because they weren't the strongest of the bunch. "What are your strengths, Luke?"

Sage, next to him, taunted, "Millie, if you have any strengths other than shaking and crying, do tell what they are."

Sesis was a quiet old woman with wise, wrinkled blue eyes. She had tatoos up and down her arms, symbols of strength, power, and sorrow. She was tall and even at her age, Cara knew that this woman wouldn't be strictly opposed to murder any man, woman, or child who got in her way. Cara was intimidated by this pillar of power, but she was also fascinated.

Sesis drew her to the middle of the room wordlessly. The woman did a full circle, watching all the tables and target ranges. She then closed her eyes peacefully. Cara was anxious to begin her training, but did not disturb her. When Car eventually felt that she should go off on her own and figure things out, Sesis opened her eyes. She pointed one shaking finger to the spear range. "Try to befriend him. You will die without each other," Sesis whispered. Cara craned her neck to see her District partner. He was a solitary person. She did not know if it would be a good idea for them to become allies, but she knew she needed an ally other than Emmeline, just in case.

She walked quickly and with a strong posture. Cara was extremely athletic from her years of swimming in Four, and had lots of stamina because of her unnaturally large lung capacity. She wanted to make herself seem imposing and threatening, despite her friendly disposition. She felt silly, but knew this is what she had to do to win.

Cara picked up three spears and stepped a feet meters away from her district partner. She placed her toes on the line. Her vision narrowed on the dummy. With two spears in her left and one in her right, Cara comes back her arm. She set her aim. The spears flew through the air in an explosive manner, one after the other after the other. The first hit the leg of the dummy, the other two hit right in the center of the dummy's heart and head. She was not as good as Jace, but she was a force to be reckoned with.

"Hey," she said as she walked passed him to get two more spears. "I'm Cara. I trust," she said, plucking up a spear, "that you won't be my murderer. I definitely won't be yours." The implication in those sentences was loud and clear. Let's be allies.

message 18: by GonnaWingIt (new)

GonnaWingIt | 113 comments Jace stared at her, with no objection or hatred glinting in his eyes. He simply nodded. He didn't want an ally, though. He didn't want to kill someone-anyone-that he would become close with. He didn't want to risk anything. His weakness came with things like these. He glanced at the spear in her hand, and raised his spear, making it look like he was holding a staff. This meant, "alright", in his little sign language world. He didn't dare smile at the very least, let alone show any expression.

Finally, his mouth moved. "I'll take you up on that offer." he was very cautious not to make eye contact to often, and headed back to the spot where you were to throw your spear. But of course, he would see if she was fit enough to keep up with him. "But let me see your skill." he motioned to the human target. "Hit the heart or brain." he siad in a simple tone. It had no edge of command to it.

He peered over at the target he had used last, and some of the other tributes were looking at the target in amazment. "Something like that. No need to be a perfect shot. I just want to see what your skills are like." he looked back. He thought it would've been a better shot if had used a trident for that throw. He waited patiently. If it was anything, he didn't expect her to have a lousy aim, lazy impact, or a crooked throw. He knew she would have at least some type of skill.

She could sense that this alliance would be strictly businesslike, a you-scratch-my-back-I'll-scratch-yours kind of deal. Cara didn't push it. She was glad to have someone of equal or greater physical condition as her as an ally. She meant no offense, but Emmeline was a bit scrawny and Cara had a feeling wouldn't even try the Cornucopia. Having Jace was a bit of a sigh of relief.

His request was polite enough. They would figure out each other's skills and build off of them. Cara nodded and smiled. At least she wasn't a poor shot at spear throwing- that would be embarrassing, coming from Four. She picked up a spear and set up her aim. She crouched just a fraction of an inch, then hurled the spear at the dummy. It cut through the air quickly and without waver. It struck the humanoid dummy straight through where the mouth would have been. The tip of the spear had pierced through the dummy, but did not destroy it as Jace's had.

"Well, I was aiming between the eyes," she confided, "but it's a little funny that the dummy ate my spear."

message 20: by GonnaWingIt (new)

GonnaWingIt | 113 comments Jace smiled. "Nice aim. I didn't expect you'd be a bad thrower. I think I've seen you back from home." he took a good look at the dummy. "Relax I won't bite. Unless you bite." he chuckled. He let himself lose. At least she was his counterpart. He should at least show some friendliness. "I hope I don't seem utterly serious to you. I just don't want the games to come down to my alliance. I prefer killing people I don't know." he joked freely.

"You don't need a rigid stretch when you throw your arm. Just make sure your arm isn't flimsy, because that way it won't have enough force and probably won't hit where you expect it to. The mouth is close to the nose, which leads to the brain. I accept your shot." Jace remarked. "You've got skill. I can sharpen it, though."

He was right. Why was Cara trying to meet every tribute when she would have to kill at least some of them to survive? It was silly to think that she could be friends with everyone inthe Games, despite her nature. She wondered if her talking to the other girls in the dormitory made her seem weak. She was mildly concerned, but not bad enough that she would toss her alliance wih Emmeline away.

She readily took his advice. It was clear he was talented, and she wanted all the help she could get. Because Sesis and Bocol were both old, the kids only had each other to help with physical aspects of the Games. Cara didn't mind. She didn't want Sesis, however wise she may be, to breathe down her neck the entire time.

"Okay. Let me try again." Cara picked up her other spear, staring at the point for a moment. She then relaxed her arm just a fraction- not too much, to avoid having a 'flimsy' throw, and flung it at the dummy. It landed precisely in the middle of the face. "Wow. That felt… good." She smiled.

message 23: by GonnaWingIt (new)

GonnaWingIt | 113 comments "Nice shot. Now you need to practice the punch that comes with the blow. Don't think twice before you kill. Kinda like how you feel bad about catching innocent fish just to eat them. But it's harder, since dummies, fish, and humans are comepletely different things." Jace observed where the spear made a amrk. "You're pretty good, considering the pressure everyone is giving you." he jerked his head to a few other tributes watching them. Among them was Jason.

"I think you can keep up." Jace finaly concluded. "but, I have a question: Is there anyone else you've befriended? I mean the whole alliance thing. You looked relieved when I accepted your alliance partner thing." he asked cautiously. He didn't want to be left out in anything.

She wasn't going to lie to him unless it was absolutely necessary. Kids from the same District rarely killed each other, so she knew that he could be trusted. He wasn't her enemy, he was her ally. Still, there was a slight, apprehensive hesitation before she spoke. She spoke so quietly that only the keenest ears could hear her. No tribute beyond Jace could hear her. "Emmeline, from Twelve. We met on the train. I'd like to keep that relationship as secret as possible, if you don't mind," she murmured. Her lips barely moved.

She cleared her throat. "Maybe they'll have some moving targets tomorrow. I'm like to practice that," she said semi-loudly. She didn't want to draw attention to her whispered message. "It isn't hard for me to kill, but I was a pearl diver, not a fisherman or a crabber. Not so much murder done in my part," she said. "But I won't… I won't let myself get attached. I will kill," she said. She didn't want to seem weak.

message 25: by GonnaWingIt (new)

GonnaWingIt | 113 comments Jace smiled lightly. "I don't mind a secret, although Twelve is not my favorite district. I'll stand for it." he looked around. "i'm guessing you don't want anyone else to know. Why? Do you think it will make you look weak? An alliance makes you stronger, in this case." Jace tilted his head. He wasn't curious, he just wanted to know what effect Emmeline had on the alliance.

"Yes, I was a fisherman. I think I'll sharpen my thoughts on what I should eat, and what would kill me when I swallowed it." Jace spoke of the center where you learned the poisonous foods. "I am not an expert on that type of thing. And, we also need to stay away from the... first and second district." he looked at the ceiling, as if trying to observe every detail of every thing. "I hear they always turn on their pack in order to win."

Cara sighed. There were two reasons why her partnership with Emmeline was to be kept secret. First, was that of the rebellion. Cara stil hadn't decided whether or not to participate, because it seemed like she would have to die. She didn't want to die. Cara had a chance to live, and she wanted to take it, even if it wasn't the most moral things to do. Cara told Jace the second reason. "I agree, I don't want to befriend the Careers, but I don't want to reveal anything about myself to them that might make me a target. I feel like a District 12 alliance would blow it for me."

"Okay," she said. "Let's go to the plants station now, then, so we dot poison ourselves."

message 27: by GonnaWingIt (new)

GonnaWingIt | 113 comments Jace laughed. "Blow it? It will add amusment to the viewers. Surely, it will be something new to them." he assured her. He needed a guy partner, but all the other tributes weren't exactly "friendly".

Jace nodded. "It looks like only a few people are there." he said, and put down his spear.

GonnaWingIt | 113 comments Jason noticed the Peacekeepers had set up the targets. Finally. he thought, and stood up. He aimed at the targets, not squinting. If he missed this shot he'd surely be laughed at. He needed to show he had the skill of accuarcy, and that he wasn't just a little boy from the District Eleven. He pulled his arm back slowly, and sucked in the air.

He threw the kinfe at the target, and the knife saored so fast you could barely see it whir through the air. It made a sickening "riiiip" and sounded he had torn through the dummy. He silently sent a thank you to no one in particular, and picked up another dagger.

A miserable feeling sank itself into Louise's stomach. She was carefully watching every single tribute in the Training Center. The boy and girl combination were strong together. The boy throwing knives was great competition. There were a few girls at the stations instead of at weapons. Louise stood in the center of it all. These kids were going to fight. Louise was going to lose the Hunger Games.

She could only pray that she would live long enough to go out with a bang. She wanted desperately to be remembered, but there was something else in her sentiment. The Capitol would watch her die and do nothing. She loathed that with white-hot passion. She wanted to rebel, in her own way. She would play their game, but would bend the rules.

Louise's gaze shifted around behind her eyeglasses. Should she confide in anyone about her plan? No. But she did need an alliance with one other person, just in case. Louise followed District Eleven girl. Knot tying. Louise was already an expert but she knelt down next to the girl, deftly starting to fashion. "Hello," she began awkwardly.

message 32: by GonnaWingIt (new)

GonnaWingIt | 113 comments Jason watched Juniper out of the corner of his eye. Knnot-tying was a good skill to hone, but he was already pretty good at it. He needed to practice throwing knives and the close combat stuff. He wanted to win, even though there was a twenty percent chance of him surviving the attack at the cornacopia. He probably would die. But he'd at least try and keep the promise he had made.

Juniper was next to a girl. She was unfamiliar, and he hadn't caught her name. He wasn't good with naming, but he chose a nickname for her. Lenses. Her wire glasses stood out well, and he decided he wouldn't ask for a name. Although he didn't want an alliance that was hick, he just wanted the thing to be a partner thing, just him and Juniper. But at least Lenses wouldn't be a threat to anything. She was a... district three girl? He had bad memory. But she wasn't a career, and that was an excellent thing.

"Oh yes, the Capitol's entertainment. Wouldn't want to infringe on that, would I?" Cara groaned. Again the thought of rebellion stirred in her head. She pushed it away. Better to meditate on that later then now, when she should be learning every about weapon and skill she could attain in the four days that they would be here.

Cara made her way over to the plant station, expecting Jace to follow, as it was his idea to go here. The teacher began to give a brief introduction on her topic as Cara flipped through the catalog of edible plants.

BOCOL- District 4 Mentor

He ran a hand through his sandy blond hair. He had just finished his lunch -a delightful pot pie- when he was told that both District Four tributes were down in the Training Center. He had jogged to the elevator and puffed all the way down. Bocol wasn't in the best shape, but he didn't have a belly and still looked relatively young. He spent most of his time sitting on the dock, telling stories. He wasn't as chipper as he was as a boy.

Bocol won the Hunger Games fourty-two years ago because he was a bright and intelligent with traps. He quickly found all he water and placed nets at the bottom of the lake to trap all the tributes who stepped foot in them. He killed six tributes by drowning them, and shot two more with his bow and arrow. They couldn't escape him, because their feet were snared in the rope. They had no chance.

He saw his tribute, a handsome young man named Jace. "Jace!" he shouted. His voice echoed against the walls. He rose his hand apologetically to all the other tributes. "My boy!" he said, approaching Jace, cutting him off from Cara's path. "The name's Bocol. Put 'er there!" he said, extending his hand. "How are you going to win?" the middle-aged man said, suddenly serious.

Jace grinned, and shook his hand. "Winning? Easy: A small alliance. Not something big. And by getting the attention of the sponsers and Gamemakers." he said simply, but seriously as well. He didn't want to make it sound like he was a push over, someone who thought they'd win no matter what. But he planned on winning, an dNOT killing Cara. That, was a priority. He couldn't afford to talk with anyone else, for fear of gaining friendship.

Not like he was afriand of it, he was worried it would come down to just the two of them. This meant he at least had a heart, who was a career, but didn't want to kill anyone or anything close to him. He glanced over Bocol's shoulder at Cara for a heartbeat. Bocol wasn't her trainer, so she didn't need to warry about much. She had Sesis, a smart, old woman. It would be odd for him to call her mentor and his old, so he kept his mouth shut. Another thing he knew was that with Age came wisdom, and wisdom came victory.

"The main thing I'd need help wih would be the plants, what to eat and what not to eat." he whispered so that the other tributres wouldn't hear him. Yelling your weaknesses outloud would probably be used against yoy in the Games later on.

"You're a smart lad. Large alliances almost always end up falling apart, and nobody wants to root for the big group. They want to be able to say that they were on Team Jace right from the beginning, that they knew that despite you being with a small alliance, you were still their favorite. The sponsors may go for the underdogs; they did my year. Luckily for you, you have my pretty face to help you with sponsors." Bocol chuckled. He was lookin forward to those sponsor parties and outings. Hey were always a good time.

Bocol lowered his voice. "Ah, plants. Mother Nature just seems to hate tributes in that way. Take a few hours and put it into the general survival table- that's a class on things that are found in EVERY arena, includin the plants. The man who teaches it it very clever."

Sarah Kliora (sarahgraykay) Luke started cracking his knuckles. Right then and there, he wanted to kill Sage for saying that to Millie. He knew Millie. She wasn't just some crybaby who is fearful all the time. She was better than that. But now was the time to impress his mentor, Causs. "Well, I guess I'm good at close combat and I've dealt with throwing knives before."

Millie was furious with Sage. She already had made a bad impression on her mentor, and it would be hard to gain a good reputation with her. Then with fire in her eyes, she began to grin. "Well Sage, if you don't mind..."

Millie saw all the weapons in the training center and found her weapon of choice, the throwing knives. She picked one up, found her grip, and threw it straight at Sage. The knife hit right in between her mentor's feet, so close that it almost struck her. Sage, unsuprisingly didn't flinch but seemed shocked. Millie walked back over to her. "I'm also pretty fast too, for a shaking crybaby." Millie smiled and knew she'd made her mark.

Jace grinned. His mentor was a great man. "Yeah. All I need to make sure of is that I stay clear of the careers. They turn on their alliance, and they kill without mercy. Not exactly my style." he remarked. District one and two would be a problem, seeing as they had nasty careers.

"While you're lying on the ground dead as a tribute has bludgeoned you to death with a rock, I'll send HIM a parachute saying a sincere and happy 'Thank you!'" Sage raged and walked right up to Millie.

She sliced off a small lock of the girl's hair. "I'll give this to your mother. It will be the only things that isn't mutilated to the point where you can't determine whether the body part is yours or another tribute. She'll cry into your hair as I tell her that you passed up your opportunity to train with me!" Sage threw the knife at Causs, who caught it by the hilt. She stormed out of the Center.

CAUSS- D2 Mentor

Causs let out a low whistle. "Wonderful girl, she is," he muttered. "Technically, Millie, I'm not allowed to send you any parachutes. You won't have any help from here on out with sponsors. All I can help you do is train for your interviews and strengthen your body.

"Luke, I trust that you've trained good and hard for this event. You volunteered, yes? So you should be prepared. Mind showing off your skills? Millie- I already know that you can throw a dagger," he chuckled. He liked his tributes.

BOCOL- D4 Mentor

"Yes, yes. Stay away from those Careers. But you know, District 4 always has the opportunity to join the Careers when things get tough. Don't get on their bad side. District Eleven… That's strange, they don't usually have warriors coming from that district. Usually they're speedy and agile, but knife throwing. Hm," Bocol said, getting lost in his own mind for a moment or two.

He shifted his weight. His bad knee was starting to bother him. In the Games, someone stabbed him just below the meniscus and they almost had to amputate. Instead they sewed it up nicely, but they didn't have such great medical treatment decades ago as they had now. If Jace won, he would be okay. Bocol had to suffer with excruciating pain sometimes.

"I shouldn't keep you much longer. But I must ask, what will be your persona for the Interviews? Sesis told me that the girl from our district is going for bold and fierce, with a bit of sass. But you puzzle me. Are you friendly and charismatic or dark and cunning? I could play any tune for you, but pick something that feels natural," he said.

Sarah Kliora (sarahgraykay) Luke nodded. He could tell that Causs liked him. The only problem was Sage liking Millie. She'll come around. I just know it. No District 2 mentor would be stupid enough to give up on a tribute, especially when there are usually victors from this district.

Millie had known she'd over done it. She just wanted to prove that she was strong too, and not just a shaking crybaby. But there was worry in her eyes. What if Sage was true to her word? I will never get trained properly, never get sponsors and... She fiddled with the locket around her neck. I'll never get back to Gabe. Suddenly she realized the seriousness of her mistake. "Sage! Wait!" And she ran off after her.

Causs looked at her then back to Luke with a confused look on his face.

Luke shrugged. "She has a complex personality. You never know what's gonna happen."

((Kay!~))

"I know, but I at least have to be aware that they don't have my full trust. I have always watched them win by turning on their alliance." Jace nodded, and repeated everythong Bocol ws saying in his head. He needed all the advice he could get, and power wasn't one of the helping objects. "The other Districts are all complex to me. Some of them, for instance,District Twelve, it seems like it would be hard living there, while when you live at One, you have a luxourious life. The Capitol is strange, but I won't ask questions. I leave them alone, they leave me alone. I don't want major trouble." he remarked. Of course, he wasn't an expert on much of the Districts, but District Eleven was a bit intreguing. Fruit seemed deliecious, but he only had it every now and then.

Jace peered at his leg, remembering the "accident" when he had won his games. "Your leg alright? I don't want you to put to much work into your leg. I know it must have been painful..." he could only imagine what pains he wold face when he entered the arena. Cold. Hunger. Thirst. He could come up with any type of thing that would trouble him during the games...

Jace frowned, and gave this subject thought. He had been so focused on his abilities and getting his abilities jotted down, he had almost forgotten how important the interview was. "I'll have to think on that one, but dark would be hard for me. I seem serious to people, but not dark. I don't want to be to friendly, either. Something to amaze the Capitol." Jace thought of Cara, her choice of being bold and fierce. "I think I'd go with humor and sarcasm. Sarcasm is my main attitude. I can't really display much of anything else." Jace shrugged. He had always been one to be sarcastic.

SAGE- D2 Mentor

Sage's hair flew around her like fire. She was halfway down the hall in a second huffing. She slammed her fist against the wall, over and over, until a Peacekeeper came to tell her to knock it off. Tears sprung to her eyes as he left. She covered her face with one hand. She remained standing, but she curled into herself.

Ever since Sage returned home as a victor, things had been different. For the first week, things were great. Sage was rich and popular, living on her own with no need to go to school. She did as she pleased and no one argued with her. But after that first week, people in her District stayed clear out of her way. She rarely talked to anyone. She figured most were afraid that the brutality she had shown during the Games was what she actually was, which was false. Sage was still a normal teenager, but she was also a Victor.

It crushed her so much that Millie also didn't want her. Sage was so happy to be away from home and be a Mentor, because at least someone would care. But Sage took that knife Millie threw to heart. She was broken now, crying in the middle of the hallway, when she heard a voice.

Millie's voice.

"What do you want?" Sage tried to say sharply and irritably, but her voice cracked. She hid her face with her right hand. She tried to look like she was trying to stop a nosebleed, but it was clear she was crying. Her makeup was running.

Sarah Kliora (sarahgraykay) "Sage!" Millie yelled starting to cry. "Where are you?" When she found Sage in the hallway, she was crying, and she was sure of it. This really suprised her. Millie was in tears too, but not as much as Sage.

"Sage, please, I didn't mean it! Please be my mentor! I just wanted to show you what I was capable of!"

Sage snorted.

"Sage," Millie pleaded wiping a tear from her eye. "Please. I can't do this alone." She gripped her locket tightly, waiting for Sage to respond. "I can't do this alone," she murmured.

Back in District 2, Millie was always made fun of. People constantly called her week and useless. The only people who believed in her was Gabe, before he got sick, and Luke. She tried not to act weak while in the Capitol, but she didn't want to come on too strong and make everyone hate her. It was difficult for her to find an in between. How come she couldn't be like Luke. Everyone loves him. Causs loves him. Sage probably wishes she had him. People just thought of Millie as no good. She didn't want that, not here, not now.

Lunariette | 36 comments Juniper looked over her shoulder at Jason, her District partner. He seemed to be raising quite a fire with his knife-throwing skills. Her eyes betrayed her worry. Where had he learned to do that? She quickly looked down and set down the knot she had been fiddling with. "I think I'm going to go to...camouflage." she said softly. She needed something to hide herself right now, she felt so small. And with that she walked over to the camouflage station.
