i have posted this in several places here before, but seriously - unless you REALLY want to keep the audio book, do check out your local library online. most of the books you can get there are downloadable onto iPod/mp3 players and you can sometimes keep them for up to a month before you have to delete them at the end of the loan period.
I use hants county library overdrive system and i have borrowed loads of books - they have a great selection. currently working my way through the H2G2 radio series - all 5 of them - and all FREE :)

- well pre-release listings for april 30th release - but you can join the waitlist!

that's no good. i didn't have to do any of that, i just enter my library card number - no other login.

Go into the itunes store, put Librivox podcasts into the search box hit the enter button and a few books will come up and then see all.

If any of you are interested, you can volunteer with Librivox to record the text of your choice from those available on the Gutenberg Project (e-texts of works that are out of copyright). I'm currently proof listening for an American who's recording a book about John Stuart Mill. Before that we did one on Kepler. Most people choose the novels and poetry though.

I listen to nearly an audiobook a week. Usually on Audible but I've listened to a lot of classics in the public domain.
