Toby (tfitoby) | 510 comments I recently saw the movie adaptation of the first book in this series, Diva and had to stop half way through because it was so good I couldn't resist reading the book first.

Looking at the reviews here on GR its been compared to Jim Thompson among others but transposed to Paris in the 70's. If I wasn't excited already, I am now.

My copy of Diva arrived today and instantly jumped to the top of the reading queue. Has anybody else in the group read anything from this series?

Toby (tfitoby) | 510 comments OK, I finished it and I'm definitely looking forward to reading more in this series. I didn't get the Jim Thompson similarities but found it closer to a French Charles Willeford with its deceptively light style and its easy read.

The two 'con-men' protagonists are certainly unique for me in this genre, or probably any genre.
