Young Writers discussion

This is a game that used to be on WWAC back in the good old days when I first joined. I miss it; so I'm reinstating it.

Basically, you answer the question the person before you posted. It's best if you answer it with rambling.

How long have you been a writer?

The last book I read was I am the Messenger and it was a gorgeous, fantastic book. It wasn't as good as The Book Thief but I was expecting that so I didn't have ridiculously high expectations. I loved the characters and the plot. Markus Zusak has incredible imagery and I love his metaphors.

Where is your favorite place to go, and why?

BOOKSTORES. But, as in an actual place, I love Coronado, California, because it's beautiful and just off of San Diego.

What's your favorite thing to do in your free time?

Hm. I don't know if I have a favorite thing, because I love doing so many things, but I do tend to read books A LOT. Even when I don't have free time.

Is there anybody you hate?

OH MY SQUASH I LOVE CHEESECAKE. We went to Yougurtini (this self-serve frozen yogurt place) yesterday and they have cheesecake bites to put on the yogurt, and I think I had more cheesecake bites than actual yogurt. Our lunch lady makes THE BEST homemade cheesecake. I also like the Cheesecake Factory's cheesecake. Aaah, so good. And I like the kind you get from the grocery store in a box. xD

How many times do you generally eat a day?

As of right now, The Fault in Our Stars.
But I'm kind of falling in love with Anna and the French kiss. THERE ARE TOO MANY GOOD BOOKS IN THE WORLD.

How clean is your room?

1,100ish. Because it got too full. And that's all it holds. GRRR.

What's your least favorite number?

Um, I've written an unfinishe novel that was over 100 pages, but it was in verse, so my NaNo from last year was probably longer, honestly. But I don't have it anymore.

What's your favorite TV Show?

Weeds or White Collar. Hard to decide. Because I love both of them. And they're both so different and crazy. But White Collar has a really sexy guy with blue eyes and black hair. But Weeds has a sexy blond one.

If you could do anything or be anything, what would you do or be?

I have two favorite words. Dissonance and wanderlust. They're both so attractive and I love the definitions. WORDS ARE SO FUN.

What's the stupidest thing you've ever done?

I literally JUST told Yue about this earlier.
Okay. So last year I was in this crazy tough history class, and the teacher had this slide picture of Hitler giving a speech, and there were two guys in the bg who were about to pelt him with snowballs. So the teacher points with his laser at the snowballs in their hands and says, "What do you guys think this is? I'll give you a hint: It's either snow or cocaine." And so then I raise my hand and go, "Cocaine?" Because I was thinking, hmm, Hitler. Bad guy. Perhaps he was involved in drugs? And the teacher goes, "That is either the biggest drug operation I've ever heard of, or that's just a street full of snow." I'll give you a hint. It was snow.

How many books have you FINISHED writing?

*laughs out loud* Oh, Colby. xD

I don't like to talk about that. LEAVE ME ALONE.

What do you want to be when you "grow up"?

John Green.
No, but a writer. NYT Bestsellers and all that jazz.
And I want my stories to be beautiful, not just sell well. Although I do want them to sell, because I need money to, like, eat and stuff.

Do you currently have a job?

Nope.

If you could have any pet in the world (dinosaurs, bacteria, "normal" animals, mythical creatures, whatever), what would it be?

A UNICORN. MOST DEFINITELY A UNICORN.

What is your favorite seasoning?

Ummm...?


How did I know you were going to say 'unicorn'?

Lowry's seasoning salt. Does that count?

What's the worst book you've ever read?

(Um, because unicorns are awesome?)

Would you eat a sheet of paper for twenty dollars?

Of course. that is twenty dollars and I ma so damn poor.

Would you rather eat human flesh or rotting animal flesh?

YES. I used to concern my grade school teachers by eating paper. But I just had a really freaking weird sense of humor and I thought I was being hilarious.

Do you save your change or just let it disappear?

John: NEITHER. I AM A VEGETARIAN AND I REFUSE.
Colby: Eh, it depends. I usually keep it in a little pocket thing in my wallet, but I have a lot of random change laying around my room too.

Do you use a credit/debit card or cash?

Cash.

Do you text often?

All the time. Only internet friends, for the most part. I don't really like texting my "here" friends.

How big is your house?

Medium size. Three bedrooms, 1.75 baths, a kitchen and two living areas. Plus a basement.

Do you clean your room often?

Ergh, when I can't stand it. Which is seldom.

Ew. No. I'm not one to read book porn.

AAH. That's such a hard question. I don't even know. As of right now, probably to the Great Depression era. Or the Revolutionary War. Or the 50s. Or the 70s. OR ALL OF THE TIMES EVER.

How do you feel about the Oxford English Dictionary?

I haven't read it. I only have Webster's (but not the one you think.)

Which car should represent England?

BMW Volkswagen beetle. Why? BECAUSE IT'S CUTE AND IT'S LIKE THE ONLY CAR I KNOW.

if you could only read one book over and over again, what would it be?

A compilation of every novel ever written.
Honestly, though...I could read The Fault in Our Stars about sixty billion times before getting tired.

What did you last eat?

umm. . . an Italian sandwich with salami and ham and capricolla, and provolone cheese and mayo! it makes me want to throw it up gust so i can taste it again. you know what? i take that back that would be GROSS!!

Large cupcake. Easily.

the bubbly kind that taste good.

Would you marry someone who wasn't as smart as you (in theory)?

It depends. I mean, I don't want a girl who just completely can't understand what you're saying. That's annoying. But it's not like if a girl is a little less smart than me, I'd be like YOU HAVE NO CHANCE WITH ME.

Approve of Asa Butterfield as Ender in Ender's Game?

OH MY SQUASH, IS HE REALLY GOING TO PLAY ENDER?
YES. YES. YES. I haven't seen him act, but his looks fit the part in my mind.

Have you ever thrown something at the wall in anger?

Shoes.

How many neccesary Ender's books are there? Just so I can regroup my budget.

I've only read the first book. I've heard that the others aren't as awesome.

What do think your life will be like in 15 years?

i am already every famous and rich author.

What do you see yourself doing in fifteen years?

I hope that in 15 years I'll have my Master's or PhD in psychology and I'll be working as an adolescent psychologist or psychiatrist. But I'll probably end up getting my Bachelor's and then working as a school counselor or something for a while and working on my PhD while I have a job, so it could take longer. I also want to be a published writer in 15 years.
