Okay, I adore reading (otherwise it wouldn't make much sense for me to have a goodreads account), and there are some books I read just for fun, books I read because I have to, and books I read because they catch my eye. Often times, the books I read change me, even if it's just a little.

What books have changed or inspired you?

"To Know as We Are Known: Education as a Spiritual Journey" by Parker J. Palmer changed the way I thought about the act of learning and the current educational climate. It reinforced many ideas that I hadn't quite found the words for and expressed them in a very accessible and profoundly moving way.

What were/are your opinions about the previous and current educational climates of America? Sounds like a book I should read.

As for books that have changed me, I can't really put my finger on any. I know they must have, but I think the changes must have been subtle enough to escape my notice. I would have to go back through my lists to really see if I could pin point any one book.

but this book looks interesting! :oD
English as a Second F*cking Language: How to Swear Effectively, Explained in Detail with Numerous Examples Taken From Everyday Life

I wonder if this book would change me? hummmm...

Bahaha!

A couple of books that changed me are Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl and Standing for Something by Gordan B. Hinckley.

to know as we are known, by Parker Palmer. It has helped me view art education from an outsider's perspective...with long reaching implications.

This book was given to me at a time in my life where I was struggling with choices. It's a really simple story about two caterpillars that have to learn to be themselves and to become better then they are. It helped me out a ton then and though my problems have changed as I have gotten older the book still has lessons to learn about being yourself and not just following the crowd. It has meant many different things to me over the years and I love it every time I read it.
