Emotional Commotions
Thanks Lilac - love those flowers!
My friend who lives in Seattle says it rains there all the time too. Thanks for posting, Alice.

Welcome! I would love to see some rain. They sure got it in Colorado Springs. But they also got very bad hail there too. I would like to move to where it rains for a year or so. I am so tired of bright sunshine!
Come to where I live, it rains for about half the year including today :) Hope it stops soon though 'cause I'm going camping
Hi Lilac, where do you live? I live up in the mountains from Colorado Springs. I am recovering from our trip to WY.
Week #2 - what is your emotion on this line in one or two words:
"YOUR MIND IS MINE"
"YOUR MIND IS MINE"

I live in North Wales and right by Snowdon (biggest mountain there) :)
Lilac - thanks for posting. I love the Welsh language, it is so poetic and musical.
Oh, how wonderful to live in Wales and right by Snowdon. I always wanted to visit there but never managed it. I had Welsh ancestors and so did my husband.
It's Friday again! "Week #3" So far I'm loving what you write. Here's the next line - write one or two words on what is your emotional reaction:
Who told you not to cry?
Who told you not to cry?
Week #4 - Write one or two words expressing your emotion about this line:
THE CROWDS ARE CHEERING AT MY POWER
THE CROWDS ARE CHEERING AT MY POWER
Thanks for the input Katie and Emma - 360 responses! This thread is so far showing me that some statements elicit a similar response despite context and others create varying emotions and would need more context to balance the statement. Great insights from you guys.

Glad to be helpful.
Glad to be helpful.
Thanks Althea!
I've been away and will get back to posting a new sentence this Friday.

Fear. Anger. Hatred. Jealousy.
Fear: Power can be bad. Both for the person who has it and his/her surroundings.
Anger, jealousy, hatred: Why you? Why not me?

I know it's the wrong week and besides, I'm not even doing it correctly but the answer to the question is:
Me. The world. You.
WEEK #4 - write one or two words on what is your emotional reaction to the quoted line below.
Thanks so much, Alice. You are doing better than I am but since it is Friday I'll post another line. I'll give you all a hint too - these are some of the lyrics from my musical.
"WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?"

Thanks Althea. This is so interesting to see similar responses and also a nice twist. Really helpful.
Thanks, Mike. I'm starting to see a real depth in the character speaking the line, from these responses. Cool.

Okay, I forget what number week this is but I did remember that it's Friday, so here goes. What is your emotional response to the following word:
UM-M-M-M-M-M-M
UM-M-M-M-M-M-M
Ugh, I forgot what I wanted to say! Again! I should go see a brain doctor. Oh wait, I remember! No I don't.In two words: annoyance, confusion.

It's so ANNOYING when people forget what they want to say. God people, don't open your mouth if you don't know what you're going to say!
In two words: annoyance, sympathy.
Great responses Katie, Nicola and Pirl. Fun.
Sympathy and/or concern. "You ok?" or "Need some context to help you finish that thought." would be my typical responses.
Isn't it amazing how many different perspectives come from one word... or maybe not even a word. Thanks, Mike!
Perhaps- at least some weeks- it could be like the other competitions where somebody takes it every so often & it can be other people whenever. But... in short, suuuurrreee.
I'm thrilled you want to continue this, Amy & Pirl. I have been ultra busy writing the script and had the first scene performed last Friday to get feedback (which went really well) so I've not been on Goodreads for a while. So, without further ado....
"HERE, MY DARLING, TAKE THIS LITTLE BLUE PILL."
This line was a turning point for the audience so I'm curious to understand more about the emotion of it. Much appreciated.

Manipulation. I actually feel like somebody's trying to twist me round their finger. Plus, I don't think I should be taking blue pills XD
Haha, Amy! Please don't take any blue pills :-) I am aware of the reference to Viagra et al. and like that you joined in my fun. I'm so glad both you and Pirl had the same sense of the line because it could have been interpreted as a caring statement. You both caught my intention, so thanks!
Any drugs I'd say no to... Don't want to go there. The phrase seemed condescending and controlling (caps wouldn't imply a caring attitude in the first place).
If it was like 'Take this Vitamin C' & so on... Then it wouldn't be drugs, whereas 'blue pill' seems secretive. If someone was hiding from me what it was, and more importantly, it's effects, I would react with suspicion.
Thanks for the clarification and extended assessment. Very helpful.

In one or two words, you can then add what "emotional reaction" you had to it.
Have fun emoting!
"Hear the rain outside the window"
